Spring is in full swing, and Easter is just around the corner! It’s the perfect time for Easter family outings to enjoy some quality time together with fun and exciting activities. Whether you’re looking for traditional Easter egg hunts or something a little more unique, we’ve got you covered.
Easter Egg Hunts: What’s Easter without an egg hunt? Many local communities organise Easter egg hunts that are perfect for all ages – like The Big Basing House’s Easter Egg Hunt – where 200 eggs will be hidden around the museum and gardens. Every egg handed in will enter you into a prize draw to win a very special Easter prize!
Stay here: The Sanctuary
Petting Zoos: Kids of all ages love visiting petting zoos, and what better way to celebrate Easter than by visiting one? Farmer Palmers Farm Park, Poole, is a great one and it’s open every day from 9:30 – 17:00. The BIG animal barn is a must-do! There you can take part in a timetable of hand-feeding and meeting the animals. There are also outdoor play areas and discounted tickets if you buy online!
Stay here: Lamb’s Cottage
Easter Parades: Many towns and cities host Easter parades that are perfect for the whole family. You can dress up in your Easter best and join in the fun by watching the parade. One to watch is the London Harness Horse Parade on Easter Monday. The famous London Harness Horse Parade will be held this year at the South of England Centre, Ardingly, West Sussex on Easter Monday. This unusual Easter spectacle is a chance for the whole family to experience the sights and sounds of old England and see the history of transportation before their eyes. Public admission gates open at 8:00 so you can start your fun bright and early!
Stay here: Kirdford Farmhouse
Spring Fairs: Spring fairs are a great way to celebrate the season and get the whole family involved. Many fairs have Easter-themed activities, including games, crafts, and even petting zoos. Godalming Spring in Surrey is a great day out in one of the prettiest towns! Stroll amongst the stalls in the town centre, enjoy an array of mouth-watering street food and drink, and for the children, there is face painting, the Dobby Horse Carousel, and Punch & Judy Shows. As a bonus, it’s completely free to enter!
Stay here: Crooksbury Hill House
Egg Decorating: Decorating eggs is a classic Easter activity that everyone can enjoy. You can get creative with dye, stickers, and even glitter to create your own unique Easter egg designs. Egg decorating is fun for anyone that wants a day at home and will keep everyone entertained for hours!
Themed Attractions: Many theme parks and attractions offer Easter-themed events and activities. From Easter egg hunts to sweet treat stalls, these attractions are perfect for families with kids of all ages. Cadbury World goes all out for easter and it does feel like a treat for everyone! From Friday 15th to Monday 18th of April, children will be able to embark on an Easter Egg trail through the attraction and enjoy an egg-stra special treat once complete at the end, as well as have the chance to win prizes in a creative Easter bonnet competition.
Easter Brunch: What’s better than spending time with family over a delicious brunch? Many restaurants offer special Easter brunch menus that are perfect for the whole family. From delicious desserts to succulent roasts, what’s not to love? Brewers Fayre is pulling out all the stops to make this Easter more egg-citing than ever, with something fun for everyone. With Egg Hunts, crafts, and soft play in selected sites, you can get served up platefuls of delicious Easter Carvery. You can enter Botanical Gardens in Birmingham for free but with loads of Easter-themed attractions, you can choose what you do and don’t want to take part in.
