Our Top 10 No-Drive Villa Holidays

Everyone’s trying to do their bit to help the environment – at Oliver’s Travels, we’ve launched a tree-planting initiative, sustainable villa collection, promote holidays by train, and are actively working to become a net-zero company. However, we also know how tricky it can be to incorporate eco-conscious practices into your daily life. For example, you might think that means holidays are entirely off the cards – but we’re here to tell you that this definitely doesn’t have to be the case!

We’ve pulled together a list of our top 10 no-drive villa holidays, allowing you to not only alleviate the stresses of car hire from your trip but also unnecessary pollution from the Earth’s atmosphere.

1. The Breakers Beach House, Kent

Perfectly located on the Kent coastline – a vastly underrated, up-and-coming area – this holiday home boasts a south-easterly facing beach terrace, making it ideal for enjoying the stunning sunrise and sunset. While it’s situated at the end of a quiet road, offering plenty of seclusion and privacy, you’ll also be just minutes away from a fresh portion of fish and chips, collection of local cafes and gastropubs.

2. Villa Saint-Veran, Nice

The prestigious French Riviera is right on your doorstep when staying at Villa Saint-Veran. It was once an olive farm, later converted into a residential villa in the 18th century, and has recently been brought back to life following extensive refurbishment. Stroll down to the Villeneuve-Loubet village for a morning coffee and pastry, or perhaps pick up some morning-baked bread to enjoy back on the terrace. Nice is also easily accessible by catching the train from Cagnes-sur-Mer.

3. Marine House, Hampshire

Found within walking distance of Southsea’s various attractions and amenities, Marine House has been beautifully decorated and refurbished. The result? A perfect accommodation option to suit large groups of friends or families, hosting up to 20 guests. Every bedroom suite enjoys its own private bathroom, while a sauna, hot tub and bar allow you to all come together.

4. Villa Dania, Tuscany

This 5-bedroom, 19th century village home has been lovingly restored by the owners, adding modern amenities while preserving its historical quirks. You’ll find shops and restaurants just a short stroll away, while Pontedera, a city known for wine and chocolate production, is only a train ride away. It’s important to note that not all villas in Tuscany are child friendly, yet this one boasts a nearby playground, gated grounds, bicycles, high chairs, and extra cots for little ones.

5. Alca Paradiso, Alcudia

Alca Paradiso is ideal for two families wanting to holiday together, but who still wish to enjoy some time to themselves. Found in the tranquil residential area of Alcanada, with the famous Alcanada Golf Club, stunning beaches and excellent restaurants all nearby, it’s surrounded by exotic Mediterranean plants and gently swaying palm trees – pure bliss!

6. Skyfall, Sussex

Nestled on the cliffs above St Leonards-on-Sea, Skyfall enjoys stunning sea views from the private sundeck. When you’re ready to become part of that picture, the beaches of West St Leonards, various shops and eateries are all within a ten-minute stroll of the house. If you fancy a walk, it’s also just 30 minutes to Hastings – ample family-friendly attractions and the popular Old Town await!

7. La Toile D’Artiste, Biarritz

Found in the heart of Biarritz, this characterful apartment combines location, design and comfort. You’ll be only a short walk from some of the city’s most popular spots, including the markets at Les Halles de Biarritz and the La Grande Plage beach. However, you’ll want to spend time inside here too – recently renovated by a famous Basque architect, it’s both quirky and considered with a welcome vintage touch.

8. Barbati View, Corfu

When staying at Barbati View, you’ll enjoy safe and private access to Barbati beach, which is a mere 100m from your front door. From there, the Barbati village is only a 5 minute walk along the sand, providing access to numerous restaurants and bars. However, one look at the view this holiday home is named after, and we’re thinking you’ll prioritise staying in instead!

9. Villa Jovita, Lake Como

Holding a fantastic location above the south-western shore of Lake Como, conveniently close to the historic village of Sala Comacina, Villa Jovita is ready to bring all your Italian Lakes dreams to life. You’ll find plenty of movie location spots and fine dining nearby too, meaning there’s lots to explore, while the holiday home itself is similarly brimming with stunning design details and amenities to uncover.

10. Villa Des Caraibes, Cannes

Clearly designed by an accomplished architect, Villa Des Caraibes holds a prime location in the French Riviera, with Cannes and Antibes both 7km away. However, Vallauris’ restaurants, shops, ceramic studios and the brilliant Musée National Pablo Picasso are also just a short stroll from your front door. Want to really splash out? Hire the owner’s 21m yacht and skipper to take a once-in-a-lifetime trip out onto the Mediterranean.

That’s our top picks for no-drive villa holidays, but we’ve got plenty more to choose from! Just check out our pages dedicated to holiday homes that are a walk to the nearest village, beach and restaurants
