1. Chateau D’Aleny, Burgundy

Reception capacity: 50-200 inside, 200+ outside (sleeps 34 on-site)

The beautiful Chateau D’Aleny is located in South Burgundy, close to the region’s best vineyards. The property has recently been fully refurbished by renowned designers who have tastefully mixed period furniture with modern and luxurious features. The main house can accommodate up to thirty guests and the Orangery can host large receptions with no time limit. And if that doesn’t sound perfect enough, there’s also a gorgeous on-site chapel for your ceremony. A professional wedding planning service is also available, should you need a bit of help in making sure the big day is perfect from start to finish!

2. Chateau des Marquis, Loire Valley

Reception capacity: 150 outside, 150 inside (sleeps 39-43 on-site)

Walking the grounds of Chateau des Marquis, one might think it was built with fabulously romantic chateau weddings in mind. This gem from the 16th century is found within a captivating UNESCO World Heritage site and it’s only a short drive to the picturesque town of Samur. The chateau offers a dramatic blend of history and modern-day design within bright and airy rooms, all elegantly furnished to give you an all-encompassing ‘Chateau Experience’. Have the service in the private chapel followed by a feast in the Banquet Hall and toast to your special day on the extensive grounds with wines from the local vineyards. Professional wedding planning and catering are available on-site to make the most of this fairytale venue and your special day.

3. Chateau Chemin Vert, Languedoc

Reception capacity: 100 (sleeps 16 on-site)

Nestled in the heart of a picturesque bastide village with sweeping views of the Pyrenees, Château Chemin Vert is the ideal setting for a dream wedding. This enchanting venue offers charm and character, featuring a swimming pool and surrounded by some of southern France’s most beautiful towns and countryside in the magical region of Languedoc.

The grandeur of this château is evident throughout, with elegant furnishings and historic features that create a timeless atmosphere. Guests will be captivated by the panelled walls and carved fireplace in the splendid living room, the ornate ceilings, and the rich fabrics adorning the four main bedrooms. Recent renovations add a touch of contemporary style, highlighted by the bright Orangerie with its spacious dining table, perfect for an unforgettable wedding celebration.

4. Chateau Cedre, Dordogne

Reception capacity: 180 inside, 300 outside, (sleeps 24 on-site)

Allow your fairytale wedding to become the most beautiful reality at Chateau Cedre. The grounds boast their own private church, accommodating a whopping 300 guests, so you won’t have to worry about your guests jumping from venue to venue (and sometimes even getting lost in transit – nightmare!). With the church ticked off, all that’s left to decide is where you’ll host the party. You can choose the grandeur of the main courtyard, providing fab acoustics and space for a live band, the six reception rooms which can seat up to 180 guests, or we can recommend companies that provide marquees. Your wish is our command.

Hiring Reverent Wedding films is something that many people enjoy because it allows them the opportunity to be creative and get more involved with their ceremony than they might otherwise have been able to, while still sticking true to tradition by having an officiant perform all of the necessary tasks such as saying vows and giving wedding rings or other items during your exchange. However, if you’re looking for perfect wedding rings which are really unique, you can visit a trusted and reliable store like Gema & CO wedding rings shop to purchase a pair for you and your partner.

5. Chateau De Baloigne, Rhone-Alpes

Celebrate your love in this stunning château, where history and modernity intertwine to create an unforgettable wedding experience.

6. Chateau Paradis, Vendee & Charente

7. Chateau De La Croix, Vendee & Charente

The Guardian called the Chateau de la Croix “One of the top 5 luxury villas to rent in France” and it’s hardly a big surprise – if you choose this magnificent property for your destination wedding you’ll be joining the Hollywood elite, who have been known to pop in for a bit of R&R on occasion. The turrets and towers of Chateau de la Croix provide a magical backdrop for a dream wedding, and this is one venue that’s perfect if you’ve got a big family. The property appeals to all ages but is especially good for kids – there are plenty of nooks and crannies to keep them occupied (including a music room and cinema!) while everyone else gets on with the task of toasting the happy couple!

And speaking of entertainment, the two wings of the chateau are linked by a music room containing a Pleyel grand piano, so if anyone knows how to tickle the ivories the entertainment could already be sorted!

This stunning chateau is fantastic value for money and makes for an intimate and memorable venue – the equivalent in the UK would probably be about three times the price!
