Set on a 600+ acre estate of verdant landscapes peppered with cuddly sheep and herds of fallow deer, rolling hills, intriguing woods and winding rivers, this location provides a perfect blend of tranquillity and exploration.

Historical Charm

The Stewardry itself is steeped in history, with the current building dating back to the 18th century. Immerse yourself in the building’s unique character, as it effortlessly blends its centuries-old roots and original features with modern comforts. From its exposed wooden beams and original stonework to the carefully curated furnishings, each room tells a story of its own. The seamless integration of traditional and contemporary design elements creates an ambience that is both cosy and elegant. You might never wish to leave!

Accommodation and Amenities

Ideal for large families or groups of friends, Lostwithiel Stewardry offers accommodation for up to 14 guests across its seven beautifully appointed bedrooms. The interior spaces are thoughtfully designed, combining comfort and sophistication. Each bedroom has a bathroom too (five of which are en suite) and the owners provide guests with Made for Life organic toiletries and fluffy white bathrobes and towels.

All the properties on the estate have been given a fabulous makeover by Sarah Fortescue Designs. Not only does every room in the Stewardry enjoy fabulous estate views, but the interiors are also beautiful, atmospheric, lavish, full of vibrant colour, superbly comfortable and exquisite in their detailing.

The well-equipped kitchen provides the perfect setting for preparing delicious meals, which can be enjoyed in the spacious dining area, beside which you can light a roaring fire. After a day of exploration, unwind in the inviting living room, complete with plush sofas, a wood-burning fireplace, and a selection of books and board games.

Outdoor Delights

Step outside to discover the meticulously maintained gardens surrounding the Stewardry. Admire the vibrant blooms, relax on the patio, or indulge in a barbecue while taking in the scenic views of the countryside. Grab a basket and help yourself to picking apples in the orchard during autumn or cosy around the firepit wrapped in blankets on cool evenings.

What To Do Nearby

Lostwithiel is a charming market town with a wealth of attractions to explore. Wander through the cobbled streets lined with independent boutiques, antique shops, and art galleries.   • The Grade II listed Lostwithiel Manor is the grand home at the centre of the estate, perfectly refurbished and the ideal setting for a fantasy wedding. The principal building sleeps up to 18 guests.
  • Lostwithiel Stable House is a delightful hideaway with an open-plan living and dining room that is characterful, spacious and provides the ideal spot to curl up in front of the roaring log burner. This house sleeps up to four guests.
  • Lostwithiel House, sleeping six guests, the house has a glorious window seat, lashings of wood panelling and a vaulted ceiling that crowns the living area.
  • The pretty and unique Lostwithiel Dairy House with its vibrant colours, plush furnishings and a dining table made from oak sourced directly from the estate. The cottage sleeps eight guests.
