With its glitz, glamour and gossip, Netflix’s Selling Sunset has become more than just a real estate show.
Viewers have been gripped by the luxurious high-end listings of the LA-based real estate brokerage, The Oppenheim Group, since the first series in 2019. Now, with Season 8 set to be released very, very soon, we can barely contain our excitement to see the next roster of million-dollar houses.
But with the houses all being residential and complete with a hefty price tag, it is unlikely that we’ll ever get the chance to experience the luxury properties in person.
So, here at Oliver’s Travels, we have matched our favourite listings from the hit show with properties in our Killer Villas collection.
That way anyone dreaming of living the life of a Beverly Hills millionaire can do so, by staying in one of these doppelgangers!
Let’s take a closer look at some of the show’s most memorable abodes and the luxury villas that you can stay in instead…
300 The Strand / Villa Ainara
Facing one of California’s best shorelines – Manhattan Beach, 300 The Strand is a corner lot property with views to die for. The impressive home was featured in Selling Sunset Season 6 when Chelsea Lazkani was trying to find a buyer to snap up its $21,999,000 price tag.
The 4 bedroom, 9 bathrooms property offers breathtaking views of the pristine Californian ocean through the large windows in its open-plan living area – a sleek white kitchen flowing seamlessly into a coastal chic living room. Outside, the lavish home boasts a Strand-front patio, a sports court with a basketball hoop and a private, heated entertainment terrace with a fire pit and BBQ.
If the Strand home whet your appetite for an oceanfront property with views for daaaays, then we have just the rental property for you. Villa Ainara is situated right on Mallorca’s Puerto de Soller promenade, boasting magical views across its harbour. Its terrace is perfectly situated, with chill-out seating and umbrellas, to watch the comings and goings of elegant boats.
Sleeping up to ten guests, the property’s bedrooms boast fresh and elegant décor as well as plenty of natural lighting that floods through their oversized windows or Juliette balconies. A pool is set privately to the side of the property but offers breathtaking views of the harbour from a glass-fronted balcony – perfect for enjoying the setting sun. Despite a similar vibe, Villa Ainara’s price tag is certainly more palatable, starting at £14,574 per week.
1151 North Doheny Drive / Villa Adeva
With a contemporary Mediterranean feel, 1151 North Doheny Drive is not a property that you forget easily and it’s one that we’ve kept in our minds since it was featured in Selling Sunset Season 6 for $11,999,000. The lavish home recently underwent a complete head-to-toe $ 3 million renovation and although located on Sunset Strip, it’s hard not to feel like you’re in the middle of the Italian countryside!
A beautiful outdoor kitchen and expanded patio offer the perfect space for alfresco dining and endless entertaining, as does the enviable pebble-sheen pool and infinity-edge hot tub. It is surrounded by perfectly manicured 100-year-old Italian Cypress trees surround the property, which adds to the holiday vibes. The inside, which boasts five bedrooms and five bathrooms, is just as impeccable in its style.
For anyone tempted by the Mediterranean charm of this property, we’ve got just the place for you. Villa Adeva on Spain’s Costa del Sol boasts almost identical features:a classic white exterior with an orange terracotta roof, tall trees surrounding and privatising the property, and a dreamy rectangular pool accessed by descending steps.
The Marbella villa offers five stylish bedrooms to guests and seven bathrooms (two more than its Hollywood counterpart!), which are all finished with the utmost comfort and style. Outside, the sun loungers surrounding the pool are perfect for those looking to soak up the rays and a chill-out area at the bottom of the garden is the ideal place for an afternoon siesta. And it could be all yours for just £16,317 a week.
1271 St Ives Place / Villa Moderna Golf
If it’s good enough for Harry Styles, it’s good enough for us! Selling Sunset Season X saw the global superstar’s Sunset Strip home listed for sale, with a cool $6,765,108 price tag. 1271 St Ives Place boasts panoramic views from downtown Los Angeles to the ocean throughout, and its living area opens up to a grassy terrace with expansive views.
The master suite offers a private balcony, a walk-in closet and a spa-like bathroom with a large infinity-edge bathtub and luxurious walk-in shower. All guest rooms also boast private en-suite bathrooms. The modern home is also kitted out with a home theatre, gym and an office where Harry could have penned some of his biggest hits. Maybe, who knows!
Although it hasn’t been slept in by Harry Styles (as far as we know!), Villa Moderna Golf is an almost replica of his previous home. Its sleek, boxy white exterior with glass balconies is pretty much a like-for-like and its open living space that leads out onto a terrace also boasts panoramic views of the ocean, albeit the Atlantic rather than Pacific.
And the pièce de résistance of this beautiful Tenerife villa? An absolutely stunning, 18-metre rooftop infinity pool with a glass floor. It’s the perfect location for your dream holiday! And with prices starting from £6,411 for a 7-night stay, it’s definitely much better value for money than Harry Styles’ pad!
8408 Hillside Avenue / Villa Calderon
After setting your eyes on it, it’s hard to forget that $40,000,000 property. The house that we spent Selling Sunset Season 1 watching being built. The one that, according to Jason Oppenheim, is the biggest house ever to be built in Beverly Hills – 8408 Hillside Avenue.
Offering 300-degree skyline views, this 20,000 sqft home boasts glass sliding doors around its exterior that connect the modern interior living space to the luxury outdoor terrace, dining area, and a 175ft infinity pool. Not to mention the rooftop deck that is perfect for entertaining, state-of-the-art theatre, wine cellar, and a spa complete with saunas, plunge pools, and massage therapy.
And if you were a fan of the extraordinary property, we recommend a stay in Villa Calderon, located in Marbella and offering incredible panoramic views of the La Concha mountain and the Mediterranean Sea. Stepping through the front door, the large welcome entrance leads into a contemporary living area that boasts a prime position in the house, overlooking the inviting infinity pool with its breathtaking surrounding views.
The house also offers a jacuzzi pool, a cinema room with a pool table, and an outdoor gym. Upstairs, the balcony terrace has a super chic sky bar – the perfect place to watch the sunset whilst enjoying your favourite cocktail during your villa holiday. With prices starting from £6,424 for a 7-night stay, Villa Calderon definitely offers more bang for its buck than its Beverly Hills counterpart.
1106 North Hillcrest Road / Villa Mostaza
A hotspot for the rich and famous, Beverly Hills is home to many A-list celebs – actors, singers, rappers, and models. But, to call somewhere home, you need to have a house. And there is nowhere cooler than 1106 North Hillcrest Road, a 4,011 sqft property that is wonderfully retro with its white, boxy exterior.
The 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom crib was sold for a hot $8,000,000, with the funds of the sale going straight into the pocket of its former owner – no one other than Mr Orlando Bloom. The open floor plan of the home provides the finest indoor-outdoor living experience, with access flowing between living spaces, bedrooms and the terrace, but as if you’d expect anything less…
Fancy a week of pretending that you’re languishing in the Pirates Of The Caribbean star’s uber-cool pad? Then you should book a week at Villa Mostaza in Ibiza – a minimalist and stylish home that definitely has the same wow factor. Inside its modern white exterior, the walls are adorned with vibrant artwork, creating a chic atmosphere within the open-plan property.
Similarly to 1106 North Hillcrest Road, the one-level house allows direct access from the bedrooms to the large terrace, meaning that guests can wake in the morning and dive straight into the pool to watch the sunrise over the Sa Talaia mountain. Although not strictly cheap with a price tag starting from £11,492 for a 7-night stay, Villa Mostaza offers luxury and tranquillity in the charming village of Sant Josep and even boasts an extra bedroom and bathroom to its Beverly Hills doppelganger.
1707 Rising Glen Road / Villa Corona
This Spanish-style property has a very different vibe to its sleek, modern neighbours, and instead flaunts red terracotta tiles, traditional columns and exposed beams that run throughout the length of the home. 1707 Rising Glen Road is a 3,631 sqft villa that has 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and a secluded outdoor patio with pool views of the lush green Hollywood hills.
The house was sold for $3,500,000 to one of Selling Sunset’s own stars, Jason Oppenheim himself. But, the property doesn’t look like this since he has had his hands on it. The realtor has added a £23,000 poolside TV, floor-to-ceiling glass doors, wooden flooring and exposed brickwork throughout. Jason has posted some pictures of the dramatic renovation on his Instagram.
But if the traditional Spanish style home was more up your street before Jason modernised it – it hadn’t actually been touched since 1978 before he did it up – then we recommend a vacation at Villa Corona, near Ibiza’s sandy Talamanca beach. The holiday villa offers the same red terracotta roof tiles and columns, and although it doesn’t have the same rustic beams, it does boast traditional Spanish tiles underfoot to keep guests warm during warm temperatures. Pretending you’re a guest at one of the Oppenheim twins’ beautiful homes is possible for an absolute steal too, with prices for a 7-night stay starting from £7,965!
1424 Rising Glen Road / Villa Linka II
With its quirky, cubic exterior, 1424 Rising Glen Road is a Hollywood Hills property that is as contemporary as they come. The 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom, 4,860 sqft house sold for $6,975,000 – the price tag probably had something to do with the home automation, wine cellar and six-car parking.
Equally as stylish, Villa Linka II is a sleek luxury villa nestled in the lush green hillside just north of Dubrovnik. The house hosts guests across 4 bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms and offers the ultimate luxury with an infinity pool, sauna and jacuzzi. It also boasts a spectacular, unspoilt 180-degree view of the glittering sea and prices start from £8,046 for a 7-night stay.
2371 Achilles Drive / Cape Luxe
2371 Achilles Drive is a luxury 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom property located in the exclusive Hollywood Hills community of Mount Olympus. With breathtaking views of the city, the house features a chef’s kitchen with the latest high-end appliances, a spacious open-plan living area, and a large patio with a zero-edge infinity pool.
A different view but equally as stunning – Cape Luxe is a contemporary holiday villa with incredible views across Cape Town’s stunning beaches of both Clifton and Camps Bay. With vast open-plan living areas, the home is made for sleek comfort and offers guests a gym, bar, infinity pool and wine cellar. The fully-staffed villa comes with a luxury price tag though, starting at £25,250 for a 7-night stay.
1814 North Doheny Drive / Cape Zonke
The perfect house for an entertainer, 1814 North Doheny Drive is located just above the famous Sunset Strip, boasting views of both the bustling city and the calming ocean. The 5 bedroom, 7 bathroom property is spread across 8,290 sqft with a floor-to-ceiling marble fireplace, 119ft pool, a luxurious spa, temperature-controlled wine cellar, fitness studio with a mechanical bathroom scale and comfortable home theatre. With amenities like that, it is no wonder that it sold for $12,500,000.
With the same open floor plan, Cape Zonke is another modern hillside home that offers breathtaking views – this time of Cape Town’s Bantry Bay. The airy ground-floor living space is home to a large dining room table where guests can gather for a memorable meal, enjoying the breeze rolling in off the ocean in the distance. Those who can’t get enough of the sea view are in luck, with the bedrooms opening up onto a luxurious terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean – all this can be enjoyed from £8,664 for a 7-night stay.
And, if for some ludicrous reason, you’re not sold on any of the stunning properties above, you can check out our Killer Villas collection where one of our most luxurious properties is sure to take your fancy…
