The Best Multi-Generational Family Holidays

If your children don’t get to see much of their grandparents – or you’d simply like to spend more time together – multi-generational family holidays may just be the ticket. If you’re a newbie to this realm, then we’ll let you in on a secret: compromise and flexibility are the key components that’ll ensure your holiday goes off without a hitch.

Our luxurious portfolio offers total privacy and an eclectic mix of amenities and activities, all relatively close to villages and towns so you can experience your chosen destination like a true local. So, to kick things off, here’s our selection of villas that have all the ingredients for a brilliant and stress-free multi-generational family holiday.

1. Villa Jolie, Cote d’Azur

If your family could use some quality time, we highly recommend staying at Villa Jolie. Evoking feelings of calm and aesthetic harmony, this villa will help you reconnect and relax in a jiffy. This family home is incredibly catering, with air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, a gym and a lavish outdoor area with a rustic pizza oven and BBQ. If little ones are in the mix, you can rest assured as this villa also has a children’s play area and there’s a water park in the nearby town of Antibes, just a 20-minute car journey away.

Rich in history and commanding magnificent views of Lough Sheelin, a lake famous for its brown trout, there will be a nook and cranny for everyone to explore and enjoy. While you’re more than welcome to bring your little ones, it’s worth noting that teens and young adults may enjoy the surroundings and activities far more. For instance, together you can try your hand at fishing in the lake, go horse riding at the nearby stables or the caretakers can also arrange clay pigeon shooting. And if the grandparents need some time out, they’ll find plenty of comfort by the fireplace and spacious living room.

5. L’Oustal Des Fleurs, Languedoc

France is always a hot ticket for family holidays, especially with the plane/train ride being no more than a few hours. As the name suggests, expect a lot of flowers, especially on the patio where you’ll also find hammocks, loungers, and a stone BBQ  – a quaint haven for the whole family to escape to. On more active days, our guests like to visit the village of LacJouarres only 2 km away for watersports and epic scenery. Alternatively, just a one-minute walk away is a delightful park with tennis courts, a pond, rose garden and children’s play area.
