The Tour De France has not only seen hundreds of thousands of people line the streets to cheer and support racers along the way, but its effect is now being seen overseas, with Brits looking to travel to France to see more.
Leading online luxury holiday retailer Oliver’s Travels has seen on site traffic increase by 60% as a result of the Tour de France effect. Since the competition kicked off last weekend in Leeds, it seems that Brits have gone cycle crazy, with hundreds of enthusiasts racing to the Oliver’s Travels site to seek out properties on the planned route to ensure they don’t miss a second of the race.
Oliver Bell, Co-Founder of Oliver’s Travels comments, “We have some beautiful properties in and around France and we are lucky enough to have a select few designated on the Tour de France cycle route. We knew these properties would be popular at this time of year, but we never thought we would see such a spike in site visits – it’s fantastic!”
