Just half an hour’s drive away is the Bourn Pottery Centre, filled with local artists at work. It is a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and you and the family can get involved by trying a throwing session yourself at the wheel. If you want to soak up some local history, a trip to Duxford Imperial War Museum is a must-see. There you will find a fascinating display of aviation through the ages, getting up close and personal with gigantic aircraft and spitfires.

The historic university city of Cambridge is just twenty-five minutes away and has endless medieval and gothic architecture to explore and discover.
