How long have you owned the property?
For 7 years
What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
I fell in love with this property because it captures the quintessential charm of the Cotswolds with its picturesque village setting and rich historical features, making it truly special.
Are there any interesting stories in its history?
The barn, originally built in the mid-1600s as part of the neighboring house, was converted into a home in 1984 by previous owners who, accustomed to the harsh elements of Dartmoor, didn’t install central heating. Don’t worry, we have since modernized everything!
Do you have a favourite room in the property?
The teal bedroom with its huge stone mullioned window
For anyone coming to stay, is there anything in the surrounding area they should...
Really do? Cotswold Wildlife Park, wander around Burford, do the Bibury to Coln St Alwyns circular walk, visit antiques shops, visit all the must-see Cotswolds villages
Really eat? At the Bell Inn in Langford, Thyme Hotel in Southrop, Double Red Duke at Clanfield
Really see? Kelmscott Manor, the home of William Morris, 3 miles away, Blenheim Palace, the streets from Downton Abbey in Bampton
What insider tip would you pass on about the property or the area? Get lost in all the local villages while en-route to the "muse-see" villages and towns - there are many hidden gems with amazing gastropubs, cafes and charming shops

A wonderful weekend
We stay at lovely Abbeville Barn for the second year in a row! The house is clean, well stocked with all the things you need for a wonderful weekend. The property owner is very responsive to any questions which is great! The Bell Inn down the road has wonderful food and worthwhile booking.

Perfect!
Abbeville Barn was perfect for a family gathering for my husband’s 70th birthday. Plenty of space, the bedrooms were beautifully laid out and the snug was ideal for the grandchildren (they claimed it as their space) Thank you!

A truly memorable Christmas
We had a truly memorable Christmas at Abbeville Barn. The Barn was ideal for a family gathering. The snug was perfect as a playroom for toddlers whilst the main sitting room had ample room for the family to gather. All bedrooms were a good size and comfortable. The house was well equipped and cosy (a stair gate might be a useful addition). The property owner could not have been more helpful and we really felt that it was important to her that we had an enjoyable time, which we did!

Highly recommend the property and host
We all enjoyed our weekend break very much. The barn was very cosy, with enough space for everyone in our multi-generational group (plus pets). There was plenty of hot water, parking and it’s in the perfect location. The hot tub was also very popular! Highly recommend the property and host, thank you for a great stay.

We would definitely stay here again
We stayed at Abbeville Barn as our Daughter was holding her wedding in the beautiful village of Langford and the surrounding area. The barn was perfect, we are a group of 8 people with 7 adults and 1 child we needed somewhere that would be big enough to accommodate us all and Abbeville did not disappoint us. There was plenty of room, the barn has lots of rooms and the hot tub was an added bonus. The bedrooms were very light and airy and the beds were big and comfy. The area around the barn is stunning, during our stay we were able to take walks and go on bike rides which pleased everyone. The Five Alls is definitely worth a visit, the food is delicious and the fish and chips are a must. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you.
