What you should know…
- There’s convenient storage for surfboards and wetsuits under the terrace, along with a fresh water shower to rinse off the sand and salt after a day at the beach.
- The driveway provides parking for two cars, and if you require a third space, this can be arranged directly with the owner prior to your stay, subject to availability.
- The twin bedroom, featuring two 3' single beds, is best suited for children and adjoins one of the king-sized bedrooms.
- While there is a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, please note that there are two wide, shallow stone steps leading up to the front door.

Trisha embarked on a monumental two-and-a-half-year renovation project, meticulously restoring the property’s stunning original features, including its fireplaces and beautiful maple floors.
Are there any interesting stories in its history?
Shellhaven, a delightful 1930s property, holds a fascinating past as the former Officer’s Mess for American troops preparing for D-Day training on Woolacombe Beach during World War II. Remarkably, the house has always been owned by women, including Denise McLaglen, famously known as 'Big Red' in Australia, who was the daughter of Oscar-winning actor Victor McLaglen.
What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
The house’s original features. These have since been lovingly restored and showcased to an exceptional standard. Trisha’s expertise as a high-end interior decorator, combined with her passion for the property, has transformed it into a truly unique and welcoming ‘home away from home.’

Amazing place
Superb! We feel privileged to stay in Trisha’s stunning home which has achieved the balance of comfort and style. The views from the terrace are wonderful, come rain or shine and to wake up with such a vista is just fabulous. The sea was far warmer than we expected and the surf was fun …. but watch the currents! Rockleigh takeaway is a must if like us you can’t tear yourself away from this amazing place. Thank you Trisha - you have been absolutely lovely!
