Meadow Cottage offers the charm and character of a country house, with its own unique styles and magical features. Situated in the beautiful Dorset town of Wimborne Minster, this traditional 18th century cottage is the perfect holiday retreat. Set within a walled garden on the Deans Court estate, the cottage offers ample space for six guests to rest and restore, with space for four within the cottage itself, and two in the quirky shepherd’s hut which is found in the picturesque garden.
Paired with Stour Valley Cottage, a similar six-guest property next door, this set up is perfect for two families travelling together, that can enjoy each other’s company, whilst benefiting from the privacy of separate cottages.
Chalk white walls, Farrow & Ball paints and re-upholstered vintage furniture create a warm atmosphere. Meadow Cottage has been lovingly restored, with a careful attention to detail, leaving every nook and cranny perfectly designed for your comfort.
Downstairs there is a modern, fully-equipped kitchen with lovely views across the garden. The lounge boasts comfortable sofas and a wood burner, creating the ultimate cosy ambience, making this cottage perfect even on rainy days! Within the living room, there is large dining table, perfect for entertaining, particularly if you choose to rent both cottages, then the whole group can come together and enjoy sociable meals.
Within the cottage itself, there are two bright and spacious bedrooms. Both located on the top floor, there is a large double and a bunk room with handmade beds suited to both children and adults. These two rooms share a family bathroom. The final bedroom can be found out in the garden, within a Shepherd’s hut. With a double bed and a wood-burning stove, nothing could be cosier!
The cottage is just a few-minutes’ walk into Wimborne’s town centre and the rest of Dorset is within easy reach by car, with the stunning Jurassic Coast nearby. Meadow Cottage has something for everyone, the perfect base for exploring all that Dorset has to offer.

Pack your bags and fasten your seatbelts, as Oliver's Travels is thrilled to present a dazzling array of luxury holiday properties in the enchanting land of Dorset! A captivating county where time seems to stand still, Mother Nature has outdone herself. Dorset, with the rolling hills of the Dorset Downs and the jaw-dropping Jurassic Coast, is a real-life tapestry of postcard-perfect landscapes, historic landmarks and villages oozing charm in lavish abundance.
The Jurassic Coast is not just a coastline, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Dorset's showstopping features. Stretching an impressive 95 miles from Orcombe Point in East Devon to Old Harry Rocks near Swanage, this coastline presents endless coastal wonders. Dramatic cliffs, hidden coves and beaches boasting ancient fossils, Charmouth and Lyme Regis are the treasure chests for fossil hunters and curious minds alike.
Dorset is also a playground for history buffs, with landmarks like Corfe Castle standing tall and proud. Perched on a hill, this fortress offers far-reaching, breathtaking views. The Cerne Abbas Giant is a colossal chalk figure etched into a hillside near the village of Cerne Abbas, Dorset's own friendly giant, captivating visitors for centuries.
Dorchester, the county town, is a delightful mishmash of Georgian architecture and markets that buzz with life. Thomas Hardy's Cottage, near Dorchester, gives you a peek into the life of the literary legend himself. Bridport, with its bohemian vibes and eclectic street markets, is like the cool kid in the market town crew. Meanwhile, Weymouth's golden sandy beach and bustling harbour are perfect for leisurely strolls and exploring historic Nothe Fort. For a touch of seaside nostalgia, Swanage brings the Victorian pier and a heritage steam railway into the mix.
The Isle of Purbeck is a haven of beauty, featuring Lulworth Cove's sheltered bay and crystal-clear waters. Just around the corner, Durdle Door, a natural limestone arch, sets the stage for coastal walks and views so stunning, they might bring a tear to your eye. For the adventurers among us, the Dorset Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, are calling. Hiking trails such as the South West Coast Path and the Wessex Ridgeway offer a rollercoaster ride through diverse scenery, from cliffs to heathlands.
Dorset's culinary scene is a delightful fusion of tradition and modernity. You will savour local produce at farmers' markets, indulge in fresh seafood along the coast and let the county's pubs and tearooms be your warm and welcoming retreat for traditional cream teas or a sip of local ales.
Dorset is an experience that seamlessly blends history, natural beauty and that quintessential British charm. It promises an adventure that captures the very essence of England's southwest.

It’s just home from home
We’ve stayed in all three properties over the years and we just can’t get enough of them. They are unique all beautifully furnished with great style and colour coordination. Lovely peaceful surroundings and minutes to the gorgeous market town with its quirky shops. Dusty has become a regular visitor and gives us a little bark in the morning to be let it he’s so cute and loves to run around with our dogs. It’s just home from home for us and we always look forward to our holidays in one of the cottages.

Such a beautiful place
Although we only live 15 mins away we stayed in the Cottage as my son was getting married there. I can not fault anything, the cottage was very inviting and cosy along with being well equipped with everything you need to make your stay home from home. It's perfect for a relaxing retreat and an equally perfect wedding venue. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so comfortable and for making the wedding day very special, such a beautiful place.

Wished we booked for longer!
We had a fabulous 4-night stay in Meadow Cottage. Beautiful, spotlessly clean and very well equipped cottage in perfect surroundings. So peaceful yet so close to all the amenities one could wish for whilst on holiday. In hindsight we wish we had booked for the full 7 nights. Will one day be back I'm sure and will recommend to friends and relatives for sure.

A stunning cottage in a great location
A beautiful location, so convenient for the town yet so quiet. Plenty of soft white towels and lovely toiletries and the grocery pack was much appreciated, as was the vase of flowers. We particularly enjoyed the tour of Deans Court house, with the fascinating history of the Hanam family.
-
Beautiful
A peaceful and beautifully presented cottage. One of the nicest we’ve ever stayed in. Perfectly located in the countryside and yet just steps away from Wimborne. It was a bonus to have the use of unlimited wood for the log burner and all the lovely food gifts and toiletries. There was a real generosity to us as guests. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Cosy and comfortable
Meadow Cottage is so idyllic and beautiful. Incredibly well equipped, cosy and comfortable. There was everything we could possibly have needed, and thoughtful little touches (like bread, eggs, homemade apple juice and cake on arrival) made us feel so at home. We were blown away with how perfect and lovely it was. A long weekend wasn't enough to enjoy the cottage and the beautiful towns and coast around, we'll just have to come back!
-
We will definately be back!
A beautiful cottage and a perfect base for exploring all Dorset has to offer. From arrival to departure the thoughtful touches helped make our holiday brilliant. The brownies were devine and the eggs and bread ensured we had a delicious meal on the first night.
-
A lovely cottage
The perfect place for 3 generations and a dog! We loved the Shepherd's hut and I enjoyed an early morning cup of tea and a read of the paper in there while the kids were in the house! Tastefully decorated and well-equipped and handy being close to the town whilst also feeling like we were in the Dorset countryside.

AMAZING!
Shrieks of delight as we explored the wonderful Cottage (and that was mainly from mum!!). What a fantastic place - homely yet with all the mod cons. The veg basket was a wonderful addition too - our meals were based round the lovely vegetables and fruit. We'll be back!
-
Wonderful cottage
A blissful retreat in a quiet, secluded location yet within a very short walk of the centre of the delightful little town of Wimborne, with all that it has to offer.
