Spectacular Tuath na Mara holds a wonderful, waterfront position within County Donegal, a county considered to be one of Ireland’s most beautiful with its dramatic scenery and unspoilt landscape.
Tuath na Mara is a completely unique home, designed by award-winning MacGabhann Architects, it was designed to appear free-floating amongst the rugged coastal surroundings. The home can comfortably accommodate up to seven guests across its three architect-designed minimalist bedrooms, while an additional two guests can make use of a handy sofa bed in one of the living areas. Tuath na Mara is set over one level, on the south-facing section of the house, is a spacious, open-plan living and dining area with a fully-equipped kitchen area. The accommodation is mirrored and so a second open-plan living space with kitchen area can also be found at the other end of the home. Doors can divide the space into two, making it ideal for two families holidaying together who are in search of a little added privacy, or to provide separate accommodation for teenagers. The north end family bedroom, a triple sleeper with a double bed below and single above has its very own en-suite shower room. The other two bedrooms share the use of the main family bathroom, set just off the library corridor.
Outside, guests privileged enough to stay at Tuath na Mara will enjoy panoramic sea views, while having direct access to a beautiful sandy beach, complete with inlet caves and coastal rock features.
What you should know…
- One of the bedrooms features bunk beds and is therefore perhaps best suited to children and those travelling with 9 guests will need to make use of the sofa bed in one of the living spaces
- Dogs should be kept under control when outside due to animals grazing in the surrounding land

Stunning property
Tuath na Mara is a beautiful place to stay. The house itself is stunning but the location is spectacular. We spent long periods just staring out the large windows looking at the fantastic views of the sea and coastline. It was a 1 minute walk to a secluded beach that we more or less had to ourselves for the whole week. The kids loved playing in the cave and coves. The fact such a lovely house accepted dogs was a huge bonus as the location is ideal for dog walks. We were very sad to leave but will definitely return.

The house is amazing and the location is to die for
We have been here less than 24 hours and everything is stunning. As we drove down to the house we literally all gasped at the same time. The house is amazing and the location is to die for. We may not want to leave!!

Simply Stunning!
We spent 10 days at this beautiful house as a family. The house is unique and beautifully in sync with the surrounding scenery. The views are just perfect. If you enjoy peace and quiet and the stunning nature and beauty of Donegal you will find no better a place to stay! The lagoon area is just amazing and there are shallow areas further up the beach to explore. This is all to be enjoyed no matter what the weather is like! Sunshine or rain there is nothing quite like sitting taking in the views in this beautiful home. Thank you for an amazing stay, we will be back!

We look forward to returning!
Many thanks for letting us staying in this beautiful house! The location is unbeatable and the view is spectacular. When it was sunny we were making sand castles on the "private" beach, when it rained, we listened to it. We had a wonderful holiday time here and will look forward to returning to it sometimes.

We have booked again

Beautiful house in a spectacular location
We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Tuath Na Mara. The location is breathtakingly beautiful and we were even treated to the most amazing display from a couple of pods of dolphins right in front of the house. The house was very well equipped and ideal for an extended family group. The design embraces the rugged location and provides amazing panoramic views from every angle. All in all a very memorable stay.
