Luxury self-catering holiday accommodation in Kent
Welcome to the bloomin' marvellous "Garden of England", Kent! Sprinkled with Oliver’s Travels cute cottages, bee-shaped lodges, mansion houses, seaside wonders and colossal party houses, you will find just the perfect place to stay to discover this wonderful county. So, gather up your favourite friends or your family or whisk away your special someone for a romantic getaway. Thanks to Oliver’s Travels, your adventure in this flowery haven is just a booking away!
Kent is home to some real showstoppers. First up is Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Archbishop of Canterbury's favourite hangout. With its Gothic glam and incredible history, it is a must-visit for history buffs and spiritual seekers alike. Leeds Castle, named the "loveliest castle in the world", is surrounded by a moat and stunning gardens that make you question if you have stepped into a fairy tale. The White Cliffs of Dover stand tall and proud, like the bodyguards of Britain. These chalky wonders have guarded this fine land for centuries and a trip to Dover not only treats you to panoramic views of the English Channel but also a chance to explore the historic Dover Castle.
Nature lovers adore The Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a green haven of rolling hills, woodlands and charming villages. It feels like Mother Nature threw a garden party and you are invited! You can lace up those hiking boots, hop on a bike or just bask in the countryside tranquility. If you are looking for beachside bliss, Margate and Broadstairs have sandy shores and a lively arts scene. You should check out the Turner Contemporary gallery in Margate.
Canterbury is a living, breathing medieval postcard with cobbled streets, timber-framed buildings and the River Stour snaking through. Tenterden and Faversham, the market towns, are like stepping into a scene from a quaint British movie. Markets, boutique shops and historic architecture blend together in a beautiful way. Chilham, the village with a Tudor-style square, is practically a movie star. You might have seen it in period dramas, it is that photogenic.
There are plenty of festivals that take place, including The Canterbury Festival of music, theatre and art. The Rochester Dickens Festival offers Victorian-themed events, parades and street performances. It is like stepping into a Dickens novel. Get your taste buds ready for a dance because Kent is the "Garden of England" for a reason. Featuring orchards, hop gardens and vineyards, it is a feast for the senses. You can visit farmers' markets, cider houses and wineries to savour the local delights. Kentish cherries and apples are the celebrities here and you are the VIP guest at their flavour-packed party.
Kent is a whirlwind of history, natural beauty and culture. You will fall head over heels and the memories will linger like the scent of summer roses. So, whether you are storming medieval castles, sauntering through charming towns, lazing on a beach or feasting on oysters in Whitstable, a trip to Kent guarantees an adventure. Cheers to Kent where every moment is a bloomin' good time!

Memorable break
Such a beautiful home and so thoughtfully facilitated. We couldn't have wished for anything more and there is so much to see and do locally. It has made for a memorable break.

What a magical place!
What a magical place! Our family group (9 people in total ranging in age from 2 to 72) enjoyed the house enormously. The hosts went above and beyond for us in every way. We can’t wait to come again!

Idyllic view
I stayed with my family for 3 nights in July and would highly recommend a stay! Amazing house - spacious, pristine, comfy beds and beautifully furnished. The deck is a perfect place to spend a summer's evening, looking at the idyllic view of the local countryside.

We will certainly be back!
We had a truly wonderful month's stay in Hawkhurst Country House. Jenny and Philip could not have been more responsive and accommodating. In no time at all it felt like home. We will certainly be back!

We really did feel at home
We had a wonderful stay at Hawkhurst Country House. Visiting from overseas this was the perfect place for a relaxed catch up with friends and family. The garden with its wonderful open views over the Kent fields was divine - the garden decking the perfect spot to unwind and nature spot. Phillip and Jenny went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The house was clean, well organised and well stocked with all the amenities we needed. We really did feel at home. The surrounding area is also beautiful making this a perfect place for a longer stay. We'd definitely come and stay here again.

We could not have picked a more beautiful place for our family getaway. The house and gardens are beautiful and provided everything we needed. The children had a wonderful time, exploring the garden and enjoying all the board games. The hosts communication, help etc has been second to none and we would highly recommend your beautiful home to others. Fabulous. Thank you. We will be back

We had a great weekend
We had a great weekend with 3 other couples. House was beautiful and extremely well equipped. Great location with lots to do & places to see. Communication with the owner was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely visit again.

It suited us perfectly
Gorgeous house in a fantastic location! We were fortunate to have glorious weather which meant we could take full advantage of the beautiful gardens and spectacular views. There were 10 of us on our annual walking weekend and this house suited us perfectly. The house had every amenity you could ask for and the owners and managers could not have been more accommodating. Thank you!

A great bank holiday weekend
Ten of us across 3 generations stayed at Hawkhurst Country House over the bank holiday weekend. We had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful, filled with lovely things (art, Knicks knacks, curios etc like a proper home) and practical things (everything you might need in a kitchen, loads of books across a wide range of topics, board games and outdoor activities to keep children entertained). The grounds are lovely, ideal for lazing with a good book. I must mention that the house was very clean and all linen and towels were pristine. Will definitely visit again AND recommend to friends.

Amazing views!
Wonderful house comfortably furnished with many personal and interesting pieces. The garden and terrace are great - secluded with amazing views across the fields and perfect for stargazing. Excellent location with good amenities nearby in Hawkhurst and a great choice of historic properties, gardens, open spaces, farm shops, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and the coast all within close proximity.

A lovely family trip
A family party of eight, aged 38 - 92 all had a wonderful time at Hawkhurst Country House. We all enjoyed meal times gathered around the large kitchen table in the very well equipped kitchen and spent the day after arrival relaxing in the sunshine and exploring the large garden. The choices of lounges meant that you could watch TV or just relax and chat about where we had visited that day. Hawkhurst Country House is a very homely and comfortable place to stay and we all agree we will visit it again.

Wonderful
We had a wonderful stay in Hawkhurst. The house is well designed for large groups, and our children loved playing in the garden and watching the rabbits in the morning. The hosts are splendid and extremely responsive. The house is well situated, a short walk from local restaurants and shops with good access to Kent and Sussex. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Hawkhurst Country House is beautiful
We couldn't have asked for a nicer setting to call home for a few days. Hawkhurst Country House is beautiful, had everything we needed and comfortably catered for nine with space to spare. Jenny is the perfect host and so accommodating, it's a shame we didn't get to meet but we'll be sure to pay another visit!

A beautiful house
A beautiful house with great views over the English countryside and full of lovely Asian treasures and joyful art. The house is very cosy, warm and inviting. There was plenty of space for my group of 10 adult friends and a baby to sleep, cook a hangover-busting breakfast and hang out - it was a great base for us as we attended a wedding in nearby Ticehurst. Kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of parking. Hosts very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
