Luxury self-catering holiday accommodation in Kent
Welcome to the bloomin' marvellous "Garden of England", Kent! Sprinkled with Oliver’s Travels cute cottages, bee-shaped lodges, mansion houses, seaside wonders and colossal party houses, you will find just the perfect place to stay to discover this wonderful county. So, gather up your favourite friends or your family or whisk away your special someone for a romantic getaway. Thanks to Oliver’s Travels, your adventure in this flowery haven is just a booking away!
Kent is home to some real showstoppers. First up is Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Archbishop of Canterbury's favourite hangout. With its Gothic glam and incredible history, it is a must-visit for history buffs and spiritual seekers alike. Leeds Castle, named the "loveliest castle in the world", is surrounded by a moat and stunning gardens that make you question if you have stepped into a fairy tale. The White Cliffs of Dover stand tall and proud, like the bodyguards of Britain. These chalky wonders have guarded this fine land for centuries and a trip to Dover not only treats you to panoramic views of the English Channel but also a chance to explore the historic Dover Castle.
Nature lovers adore The Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a green haven of rolling hills, woodlands and charming villages. It feels like Mother Nature threw a garden party and you are invited! You can lace up those hiking boots, hop on a bike or just bask in the countryside tranquility. If you are looking for beachside bliss, Margate and Broadstairs have sandy shores and a lively arts scene. You should check out the Turner Contemporary gallery in Margate.
Canterbury is a living, breathing medieval postcard with cobbled streets, timber-framed buildings and the River Stour snaking through. Tenterden and Faversham, the market towns, are like stepping into a scene from a quaint British movie. Markets, boutique shops and historic architecture blend together in a beautiful way. Chilham, the village with a Tudor-style square, is practically a movie star. You might have seen it in period dramas, it is that photogenic.
There are plenty of festivals that take place, including The Canterbury Festival of music, theatre and art. The Rochester Dickens Festival offers Victorian-themed events, parades and street performances. It is like stepping into a Dickens novel. Get your taste buds ready for a dance because Kent is the "Garden of England" for a reason. Featuring orchards, hop gardens and vineyards, it is a feast for the senses. You can visit farmers' markets, cider houses and wineries to savour the local delights. Kentish cherries and apples are the celebrities here and you are the VIP guest at their flavour-packed party.
Kent is a whirlwind of history, natural beauty and culture. You will fall head over heels and the memories will linger like the scent of summer roses. So, whether you are storming medieval castles, sauntering through charming towns, lazing on a beach or feasting on oysters in Whitstable, a trip to Kent guarantees an adventure. Cheers to Kent where every moment is a bloomin' good time!

The perfect place to wind down
Just back after a couple of nights. We loved it and would recommend. The perfect place to wind down with the lovely Sandgate and nearby Folkestone and Hythe on the doorstep! Hearing the waves at night and seeing an amazing sunrise on our last morning were two of the highs!

Fabulous house
Fabulous house right on the beach, with personality and kept to impeccable standards. What a find and such helpful owners advising us on where to go. A brilliant experience which I would highly recommend for a luxurious break! Just wonderful - thank you.

Highly recommend a stay
Our stay at The Breakers exceeded all expectations. The location of the house, literally on the beach, is unbeatable. It is within walking distance of local shops, cafes and pubs. Taking our bicycles was an excellent decision as directly outside the house is a national cycle route along the seafront and then continues alongside the Royal Military Canal. The house itself was exceptionally well equipped and the owners had thought of everything you would need. The decor was perfect for a holiday stay and very clean. The owners were very helpful with suggestions of local attractions and restaurant recommendations.
We would definitely recommend The Breakers as a great destination for your next holiday and look forward to returning there.

WOW
There’s plenty of WOW factor to be enjoyed at The Breakers. The house is beautiful and if you love uninterrupted views of the sea, as we do, this is the place to be.
It felt at times like being on a luxury yacht without the sea sickness!
The delightful owners could not have been more welcoming, supplying us with a cot and high chair for our one year old grandson and a brand new bed and yummy treats for our dog.
They then visited to show us how everything works in their exceptionally well appointed house and give us a comprehensive guide of things to do and places to eat in Folkstone - just a ten minute drive or half an hour stroll along the beach front- and surrounding area.
We had a wonderful sense of quiet and privacy at The Breakers as the shingle beach directly outside the house remained relatively underpopulated even on hot, sunny days. There’s a sandy beach only ten minutes walk away so we felt we had the best of both worlds.
We only used one of the two small kitchens in the house as we wanted to all eat together as a family. It was a bit of a challenge at times cooking for 6 and a toddler in such a tight space, but we couldn’t have wanted for a lovelier setting to enjoy family time together.
On cooler days there’s a roaring wood burning stove to snuggle up to on the sofa while watching Netflix movies! So it really is a year round holiday house.
This is definitely a five star stay and we recommend it extremely highly.

Wonderful stay
Myself, husband, and two 15 year old young ladies plus our handsome 3year old English bulldog Bert have just returned from a wonderful stay at The Breakers Sandgate.
I would love to keep this amazing property a secret as I am desperate to return soon! Cannot express how considerate and amazing the owners are. They recommended The Radnor Arms and we will also now! Food and staff amazing!
So much care and love has been put into this truly unique beautiful property. Can not fault anything - girls were never bored and Bert was a massive hit with everyone.
Thank you for making our stay a magical experience and we can’t wait to return.
Don't miss out! Reserve now and get a full refund if you change your mind within 48hrs.
