Luxury self-catering holiday accommodation in the Peak District
Tucked away in the heart of England, the Peak District National Park is like a giant playground for nature lovers, history buffs and anyone in need of a chill pill. The Peak District is a quilt of landscapes, historic goodies and villages so charming they look fit for a postcard. You can sprinkle some magic on your adventure by crashing at one of Oliver's Travels luxury properties, the cherry on top of your Peak District escapade!
The Dark Peak is rugged with vast moorlands and gritstone edges, creating a dramatic scene. The White Peak is the softer sibling, with limestone dales, valleys that look like they were painted by Monet and beautiful rivers. This dynamic duo makes the Peak District a year-round magnet for explorers. If you are feeling a bit daring, Mam Tor, aka the "Shivering Mountain," is your challenge. You can hike up, soak in the panoramic views of the Hope Valley and bask in the remnants of an Iron Age hillfort. The Great Ridge, stretching from Mam Tor to Lose Hill, is the Peak District's way of saying, "Challenge accepted." In Castleton, the Blue John Cavern awaits with its underground wonders. The village itself is a time capsule, complete with cobbled streets, pubs straight out of a Tolkien novel and Peveril Castle, perched like a medieval guardian on the hillside.
Chatsworth House, the celebrity of the Peak District, is a stately home with gardens so extensive you might need a map to find your way out. Its art collection is incredible.
The spa town of Buxton is your ticket to relaxation. Featuring elegant architecture, thermal waters that make you feel reborn and the Buxton Opera House, a swanky Edwardian hotspot for concerts and theatrical drama, it impresses everyone. The Pavilion Gardens offers a landscaped wonderland and botanical conservatory, your green oasis.
Bakewell, famous for Bakewell Pudding, is your sweet escape with a medieval bridge over the River Wye and a characterful market square. Hathersage, in the Hope Valley, turns up the cool factor with an outdoor swimming pool against a backdrop of rolling hills. It is like a pool party, Peak District style.
The Peak District is England's greatest hits album of natural wonders, historic treasures, charming villages and city buzz. Whether you are a thrill-seeker, history nerd or just want to soak in the serenity, the Peak District is the British countryside's coolest hangout spot.

Beautiful!
6 of us stayed at the beautiful barn over New Year. Their attention to detail and desire to give everyone the best stay possible is amazing. Beautiful 1000 thread count bedding, down duvets, bathrooms stocked with lovely eco toiletries, kitchen incredibly well equipped, large comfy sofas and beds, wood burner stocked with logs, plus everything you could want when you take a dog on holiday - dog bowls, beds, special shower. And a big bowl of home grown eggs, a loaf of homemade bread, some bottles of beer made at the local brewery - all very much appreciated as was the bottle of bubbles to toast in New Year. My husband and kids loved the sauna. The barn is in a fantastic location, a short drive to civilisation and restaurants etc but very peaceful and quiet. it is surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and endless incredible walks. Thanks so much.

Stunning barn in a beautiful setting.
We had a wonderful stay. The barn has been fantastically converted and is in a beautiful setting. Our group including our dog also appreciated the little extras - big dog bed, welcome pack (especially the sample ales from the nearby Wincle Brewery), local guides. I am happy to recommend.
