Sequoia House holds an enviable location on the banks of Loch Lomond, nestled in woodlands that boast one of the tallest Sequoias in Scotland. The impressive Gothic 1820s home has been painstakingly modernised, and today boasts beautiful, contemporary interiors which seamlessly blend with the original charm, elegant lancet windows and the Gothic and Norman references throughout. Set in large gardens, Sequoia House offers guests the chance to enjoy complete privacy and peace and quiet, while being just a short distance from helpful amenities in the villages of Arrochar, Tarbet and Luss.

The house can comfortably accommodate up to nineteen guests across nine beautifully-appointed bedrooms, making it the perfect base for a large family or a reunion of friends who want to explore wonderful Loch Lomond. On the lower ground floor, are the cinema and games rooms, whether guests wish to enjoy a cosy movie night or a game of pool, there is something to keep those of all ages occupied in the evenings! The main living space can be found on the ground floor and comprises of an inviting sitting room with open fire, a formal dining room and a fully-equipped kitchen which possesses all the equipment budding chefs could possibly need to cook up a storm! Also on this level are the first of the bedrooms, a king-size double and a twin room, each complete with luxurious en-suite facilities.

The first floor is accessed by two separate staircases which essentially creates two wings, perfect for two families or simply those wanting additional privacy from the rest of the group. The first staircase leads up to a king-size bedroom and a twin room, which share the use of a family bathroom. The main staircase leads up to the remaining five bedrooms, four king-size doubles and the double room complete with a quirky circular bed and freestanding copper bathtub! There is no danger of any ques to the loos, these rooms share the use of a family bathroom and two shower rooms.

The exterior grounds are just as wonderful with gardens for the children to explore and play games, while the terrace complete with barbecue provides the perfect spot for the group to gather and enjoy a  meal al fresco on a warm evening. The hot tub is ideal for the adults to relax and round off the day with a sundowner after a busy day spent exploring Loch Lomond on foot!

Luxury self-catering holiday accommodation in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs

There is something so romantic about staying in one of Oliver’s Travels luxury properties overlooking Loch Lomond, a breathtaking freshwater lake that spans over 24 miles in length. Nestled within the stunning landscapes of the Trossachs National Park, the loch is the largest inland stretch of water in Great Britain and a haven for nature enthusiasts, history buffs and adventure seekers. The Trossachs, often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Highlands,' boasts an enchanting mix of lush forests, serene lochs, and rugged mountains, making it a picture-perfect destination for exploration.

The surrounding hills and mountains strike a pose, creating a mesmerising backdrop. Standing tall and majestic, is Ben Lomond, the loch's very own celebrity peak. Hiking up ends with a reward of panoramic views that will make your jaw drop. The charming towns and villages that sprinkle the shores of the loch like confetti include Balloch, the southern sweetheart and the gateway to Loch Lomond. It throws open its doors to visitors with the flair of a Scottish welcoming committee. You can take a loch cruise or explore the Balloch Castle Country Park, where 19th-century castles, gardens and woodlands play host to leisurely strolls and family picnics.

Further north, the village of Luss is so well-preserved it is like a postcard got stuck in a time warp. 18th-century cottages line the shores, offering a glimpse into Scotland's architectural wardrobe. The Luss Pier is your ticket to a boat tour extravaganza, discovering islands and hidden coves like a true Scottish pirate. Balmaha's got your back with a gateway to Inchcailloch Island. Burial grounds, scenic trails and centuries of Scottish history await.

Loch Lomond isn't just for romantic strolls. It is a water wonderland with sailing, kayaking and fishing on the agenda. Inchmurrin, the largest inland island in the British Isles, is your tranquil escape. Anglers can fish for salmon, trout and perch, while thrill-seekers can dance with the wind on a windsurfing or waterskiing escapade. Loch Lomond is also a golfer's dream. The Cameron House Golf Course offers views that could distract even the most dedicated golfer. Who can focus on putting when the loch is winking at you?

Loch Lomond isn't just a place, it is a romance novel waiting to be written. Whether you are soaking in the tranquility of the lake, enjoying a delicious waterside meal, taking to the water or unleashing your inner highlander, Loch Lomond captures the essence of Scotland's enchanting landscapes with a touch of luxury and a dash of fun.

Ah, bonnie Scotland! A wild and beautiful part of the world, where you can explore the rugged highlands or enjoy the colour and vibrancy of cultural capitals like Edinburgh and Glasgow.

But how do you know you’re getting the very best out of your trip? That’s where we come in. If you’ve had a browse through our range of luxury cottages and castles in Scotland, you’ll know there’s some great places to stay, but to find all the great things to do, see and eat you’ll need our handy Scotland travel guide  – so read on and enjoy!

  • A very well equipped house

    on 11/08/2023

A very well equipped house in a stunning location. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, karaoke machine, variety of spaces for big gatherings and the ready access to Loch Lomond and surrounding scenery.

  • Exceeded expectations

    on 25/07/2023

This house definitely exceeded our expectations. Such a great place for a group to gather!

This is the perfect place for a gathering of family and friends, the house and surroundings are beautiful, it is first class comfort, it has everything you need and want to relax or alternatively let your hair down. Every detail has been meticulously thought out to make you feel like you really have been staying somewhere special. We cannot wait to rebook.

    on 16/04/2023

Had a wonderful time, very spacious, well equipped. Wonderful location. Excellent for family groups.

  • Had the most fabulous stay

    on 14/04/2023

Had the most fabulous stay, the kids loved the hot tub and cinema room in fact just running about the house and grounds. Adults loved chilling with the fire on, BBQ and hot tub. We even managed to have the sun with us for the week. Hopefully in the near future we will return.

  • Wonderful!

    on 31/10/2022

Great sized house for large family gathering. Kitchen very well equipped.

  • Everything we'd hoped for!

    on 28/08/2022

We had 19 people staying in Sequoia House and it was everything we'd hoped for. The facilities were immaculate and all equipment provided for a great stay. The view over Ben Lomond is second to none and there is a lovely swimming beach in the Loch just five minutes away. We ate out once - in Tarbet - but self catered otherwise and it was absolutely no problem given the kitchen facilities. The games room, cinema and spa meant we had no problems just chilling out after a hard day walking or swimming or gaming!

  • Beautiful

    on 10/05/2022

Beautiful house, fantastic location & perfect for a big group. Even better than the pictures which we didn’t think was possible!

  • A great weekend.

    on 10/03/2020

Everyone couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating. The house had everything you could ever want for a great weekend. The location is brilliant very private but still close enough to local restaurants etc.
