Overview
This elegant Georgian mansion house, with its 13th century stone spiral staircase at the core of the building, is a well-appointed historic large holiday home. Brimming with period features and antique furniture, Blairgowrie House makes the perfect venue for your family holiday or weekend away.
On entering, there are a series of halls which run through the house like a railway carriage, with the entrance hall having a snug area. The main feature of this grand house is the large drawing room, which was added in the 1920’s and was designed by the renowned architect Robert Lorimer. It is a large impressive room with painted panelled walls, ceilings with swags, tall picture windows and is just a show-stopper of a room. With large sofas, grand piano, and antiques – this is a superb room to entertain in.
Steps take you along the corridor to what is known as the writing room, which is an area with some seating, then to the main inner hall and then to a secondary sitting room, which has comfortable seating and a TV. Additionally, there is the games room with full size snooker table which can be found on the floor below. The large kitchen on two levels can be found to the rear of the house, with two distinctive areas, one for cooking and the breakfasting area which has a country pine table that can seat up to 8 people. The kitchen was renovated to modern standards in 2018 and has been equipped with all the tools a budding chef could possibly need! The dining room is a long elegant room, just off the kitchen, which faces out to the main lawn. The dining room is a long elegant room, just off the kitchen, which faces out to the main lawn.
Blairgowrie House can comfortably accommodate up to twenty-four guests across thirteen well-appointed bedrooms. There is a variety of double, twin and single rooms to suit all groups, whether you are travelling as a family or a group of friends.

Couldn't fault it!
Blairgowrie House - couldn't fault it. 19 of us stayed for 5 nights in September and had a great time. Douglas was an amazing caretaker and so helpful. We've booked again for next year.

Fantastic stay
Had a fantastic week at Blairgowrie. The house is huge and well appointed. 19 of us, all family thoroughly enjoyed it. From snooker to croquet to the swimming pool and even just sitting on a bench in the beautiful gardens.
Booking was easy and communication good. -
Highly recommend
We had a group of 22 people (including 7 children) staying over Christmas 2019. Friends and relatives from Australia, UK and France all gathered for an amazing 7 nights. The house was perfect with beautiful large bedrooms rooms and social rooms. It was made even more special by the history to the house. The central staircase having been built as a tower by Robert the Bruce in the 1300’s and the Queen and Queen Mother having stayed there too (we slept in the Queen Mothers room).
The new kitchen, appliances (including an electric AGA) and butler’s pantry area worked brilliantly when preparing meals for our large group. There was ample glass wear, crockery and cutlery and the two dishwashers made it very easy to clean up.
The dining room was a real highlight with a lovely long table that can seat 26 people and looked stunning when set for our Christmas meals.
The house was spotlessly clean and well presented. It’s not immaculate showing some wear on carpets and furniture but this actually made it feel “homely and comfortable.”
The young adults were able to “escape” to the basement and pool room after dinner whilst us more senior retired to the massive drawing room to enjoy a scotch or two.
The only issue we had during our stay is that it didn’t snow on Christmas day, just a nice heavy frost. -

Excellent
Brilliant venue for our large group, including 9 children. Own website described it as 5 star and certainly would not describe it as that, more faded grandeur !
