Nestled within the serene expanse of the magnificent 3000 acre Dillington Estate, Little Hideaway stands as a testament to heritage and contemporary luxury. Once serving as the financial nerve center of the estate, this former cottage has undergone a remarkable metamorphosis, emerging as a resplendent sanctuary harmonising opulence, superb comfort and character with its breathtaking surroundings. It is the perfect bolthole for a spot of switch off for families or groups of friends.
This enchanting holiday home beckons those seeking solace in the embrace of nature and elegance. Boasting four enchanting en-suite bedrooms, each meticulously designed and adorned, Little Hideaway exudes an air of sophistication and comfort. The ground floor bedrooms offer versatility, with the option to configure them as twin beds or lavish super-king doubles. The bedrooms pamper guests with indulgent touches such as sumptuous mattresses, plush cloud-like mattress toppers, exquisite 400-thread-count cotton bedding and sumptuously lavish drapes. Soft bathrobes, fine body-wash and invigorating shampoos await in the pristine, beautifully designed bathrooms, ensuring a pampering retreat. Two of the bathrooms come with walk-in showers, another with a bath and overhead shower and the last with a gorgeous freestanding slipper bath.
The heart of the home unfolds in a loft-style, open-plan kitchen and dining area. Sunlight dances through bi-fold doors, seamlessly merging the interior with the spectacular manicured garden. Every element of the design of Little Hideaway has been created to work in unison with the concept of indoor, outdoor living. A spectacle of culinary delight is curated with modern amenities including a Nespresso coffee machine, a fan-assisted oven, a dishwasher and a spacious induction hob. This is a seriously sociable space with a breakfast bar, dining table and trendy accent chairs. The ceiling beams create a wonderfully inviting ambience. There is a separate utility room for your laundry. Just across the landing is the characterful, tranquil living room with its gorgeous ceiling beams, lavish sofas, beautiful modern artworks and feature fireplace. Its a great place to snuggle up and relax or disappear to with the Sunday newspapers and a mug of steaming tea. Little Hideaway comes with a giant retractable smart television, a bluetooth soundbar in the living room and a bluetooth DAB radio in the kitchen so that you can relax along to your favourite tunes.
The elegance of dining extends outdoors into the enchanting garden, where an alfresco dining table and charcoal barbecue set the stage on a south-facing terrace for memorable feasts under the twilight sky. An outdoor sofa is the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks and planning your Somerset and Devon adventures while a fire-pit extends the evening's embrace. The pièce de résistance, a wood-fired hot tub, offers relaxation accompanied by sweeping views of the orchard and woodland.
Engagement with the surroundings is effortless, with Dillington Estate's verdant parkland at the doorstep. Wanderers will find their wanderlust satiated by miles of footpaths through the Somerset countryside right from the doorstep of Little Hideaway. A farm shop, a minute’s walk away, stands ready to supply gourmet provisions, artisanal delights and fresh barista coffee. Quaint pubs dot the vicinity beckoning with their own culinary journeys.
Dillington Estate, a tapestry of over 3,000 acres, echoes with the legacy of farming. Its rhythms have endured across generations, with tenant farmers preserving the land's spirit and three hundred and fifty milking cows enjoying the home grown gass and maize. At Little Hideaway, tradition and modernity dance harmoniously, inviting guests to relax, unwind and spend time with their loved ones. The estate’s Cider Barn is an excellent rustic venue for events, weddings and parties.
Little Hideaways's allure is further enriched by its proximity to cultural treasures. Dillington House and Barrington House invite exploration, while the nearby Dennis Chinaworks in Shepton Beauchamp and local cider producers offer tantalising glimpses into craftsmanship and tradition. The siren call of Lyme Regis' Jurassic coastline and the Hauser and Wirth gallery near Bruton is but a short journey away.
