Reviews

  • The house was beautiful and homely and we absolutely loved it

    Created on 07/09/2024

We were a family of 6 adults plus a dog. This place was perfect, a great location for walking and wildlife, we saw otters & barn owls while walking the local footpath. We had booked River Cottage as somewhere we could all chill from busy lives and enjoy each other’s company. The big garden and a games room didn’t disappoint. The spacious kitchen was a great space. Plenty of plates, cutlery and good pans etc. A massive table that meant we could play jigsaws and card games at one end and eat at the other. The Aga was great for cosy background heat, drying towels and obviously a bit of cooking. The Beds had soft clean linen and were comfortable. The curtains had blackout lining and we all slept well.
The cinema room was a fun and the bootroom was a useful addition. The house was beautiful and homely and we absolutely loved it. We enjoyed popping into Langport for supplies and the odd brunch. There were lots of good pubs and restaurants. Sarah was a kind and generous host.

  • I can't recommend this property highly enough, I would love to return in the future.

    Created on 22/06/2024

From booking to departure, the whole process was simple. The host was quick to respond to any queries we had, she was friendly and went out of her way to be helpful. The property was idyllic, the perfect setting for my 50th birthday celebrations, as soon as we arrived we felt at home and comfortable. We were fortunate with the weather and spent most of our time outside, however, if the weather had been poor there was more than enough room in the house and entertainment in the summer house to keep us content.
We walked to the local farm shop which was approx 1 hour each way and drove to the recommended restaurants with ease where we enjoyed delicious food. During our stay, we drove to Glastonbury Tor which was about 30 minutes away. Bridge Cottage was a perfect base to explore the area further.
I can't recommend this property highly enough, I would love to return in the future.
