The spectacular Villa Sofrito is a four-bedroom villa located on the Dominican Republic’s Casa de Campo resort. Set in spacious grounds, this villa offers plenty of privacy to up to eight guests, and features a private pool, hot tub and children’s play area.
The property has beautiful garden views and provides plenty of outdoor space. As well as the stylish deck area with its swimming pool and irresistible hot tub, there’s a large gazebo just a few steps away. Here you can relax in the lounge and dining areas, perhaps while enjoying something from the nearby barbecue.
Another terrace closer to the house offers additional seating and sun loungers, with open and covered areas. Children can enjoy playing on a swing or trampoline in the garden.
Inside, Villa Sofrito is light and open, with the accommodation set over two floors. Downstairs, you have an exquisite open-plan lounge and dining area with colourful art lining the walls. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, with a housekeeper and waiter on hand to help you during your stay, and additional lounge spaces around the property.
Each of the four bedrooms have a private en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning for extra comfort. The master bedroom is on the second floor and also offers a private terrace with garden views.
The villa is less than 1km away from the resort’s private beach, Minitas, and within easy travelling distance of many more Casa de Campo amenities. These include the marina, fitness centre, spa and numerous entertainment venues and restaurants. The resort also offers a diverse range of sporting activities, including water-sports, tennis, polo, shooting and golf, with three excellent courses. Also, within a few minutes’ walk is the charming Mediterranean-style village of Altos de Chavon, with a range of impressive attractions including an amphitheatre concert venue and cultural centre.
What you should know…
- The villa is just a five minute drive from the main lobby of the Casa de Campo hotel
- Make sure that mosquito repellent, sunglasses, sunscreen and light layers of clothing that can cover you make the packing list! White looks great on the golf course anyway!
- When getting around the island we’d recommend car. Rental cars are available or you can opt for a taxi or bus. Taxi’s can be incredibly expensive and you’ll need to be prepared to haggle. Buses tend to stop short of nine o’clock at night which may make you feel as though you don’t have enough time for a night out. With a rental, freedom is yours
- The pool is not fenced, ensure children are monitored at all times

There’s the huge pool and a hot tub, as well as that wonderful gazebo to chill in.
The resort itself adds even more, with tennis, soccer, water-sports and night golf among the games they can play. There’s the idyllic private beach with a beach club, and the kids’ club where all the activities are planned out and perfect for children of all ages. The tropical swimming pool is another great place to hang out.
The resort’s excellent restaurants and food trucks serve tempting cuisine from around the globe, so nobody needs to go hungry. That’s also true at the cinema down by the marina, with plenty of snacks to accompany the latest movies.

Lovely Time!
We had a wonderful time in Casa de Campo. The location of the house is excellent and the staff (Cesar and Dorka) are wonderful. They make the difference.

Great Villa. Ideal Location.
I rented this villa for two weeks this past Christmas and New Year’s. My family thoroughly enjoyed the place. It was recently redecorated and remodelled and it was nicely done. The pictures don’t do it justice. The Villa and grounds are very spacious. The back yard could accommodate enough people to have a party. The pool, hot tub, and outdoor furniture are all excellent. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The villa is ideally located. The two people that work there are very nice and helpful, but they don’t speak much English. I highly recommend this Villa and would love to stay here again.
