Smugglers Nest's lush tropical garden is a botanical paradise with many different kinds of palms, flowers, plants and trees and is definitely the most romantic place for honeymooners on the island of St. Lucia. This very secluded and easily accessible villa is not visible from the road and is perched on the hillside above Smugglers Cove with unparalleled views of the ocean and the coastline from all the rooms. Smugglers Cove has a sandy beach and the reefs provide one of the most interesting places to snorkel in St. Lucia. A Championship 18 hole golf course is just minutes away by car.

Smugglers Nest combines all the essential elements of a dream home in the Caribbean, from its stunning architecture and finishes to its wonderful location and its beautiful tropical landscaped gardens with a network of footpaths that allow for leisurely strolls. You can rest for a drink in one of the two delightful gazebos, one of which looks out over the sea, the other one is tucked away in the garden. Or, have lunch on one of the many terraces around the house. A large crystal clear swimming pool interchanges with the sea and is nestled below the house and affords views out over the ocean. Last, but not least, you should have your sunset drink on the lower deck which provides marvelous views of Pigeon Island against the striking Caribbean sunset.

The house is designed as an open plan, so it can benefit from the cooling tropical breeze. It is imaginatively furnished with antique Indonesian furniture and artifacts set against a dazzling white background giving a unique blend of the old and the sophisticated. There are two lovely airy living areas. One for lounging, with the other serves as a television room with cable television. The open plan dining room is adjacent to a well appointed kitchen and a series of open patios. The Master bedroom has a King-sized bed with unusual bamboo posters draped with a net. There are small patios off this room giving a 180 degree view of the ocean. The second bedroom has an interesting gallery with the bedroom on a lower level, opening on to its own large private patio.  Both of the bedrooms boast en-suite facilities.

St Lucia is located midway down the Eastern Caribbean chain, between Martinique and St. Vincent, and north of Barbados. St. Lucia is only 27 miles long and 14 miles wide. The Atlantic Ocean meets its eastern shore, while the beaches of the west coast owe their beauty to the calm Caribbean Sea.

St Lucia is also a romantic paradise for couples; bask together under the Carribean Sun, sail into a champagne sunset and relax under the vast starry sky.

For all those who travel to this island, tropical weather, glorious weather and the holiday of a lifetime truly does await.

Smugglers Nest is located close to Pointe du Cap within Cap Estate, a large residential development at the northern tip of the island. Two of the best restaurants in St Lucia are nearby - the Great House and Tao at LeSport. Views from the estate include Pigeon Island National Park, a forty four acre National Trust reserve. Opposite Pigeon Point is Rodney Bay, St Lucia’s busiest tourist area, where there are hotels, good restaurants and bars, a shopping mall, banks, mini marts and a nearby supermarket and a very lively nightlife.

About the Island & Getting There

About St Lucia

The Land, The People, The Light – St Lucia’s motto couldn’t be more representative of this captivating sovereign island nation. Witness dazzling scenery, be spellbound by the fascinating locals and allow for St Lucia to brighten your day and show you a new way to life.

St Lucia gained its independence from the British Commonwealth in 1979 and after centuries of a French presence, which is most visible today in the original Capital of Soufrière, St Lucia is famous for its Pitons & landscapes and vivacious community.

St Lucia really is a hiker’s Nirvana! Where to start? That’s a tough question. However, with the likes of - The Diamond Botanical Gardens, Enbas Saut Waterfall Trail, Pigeon Island National Park, Sulphur Springs Park Scenic Drive and Tet Paul Nature Trail – it doesn’t matter! These UNESCO listed sites are a sight to behold. If you're likely to take to the water, you'll be able to admire the rich marine biodiversity just off the shore of St Lucia. Over 60% of the marine area is made up of coral reefs and these are very poular with snorkelers and scuba divers. Just make sure you put time aside to relish these privileged land & seascapes.

Start your cultural trip downtown in Castries. Here you will be provided with more than enough entertainment for an afternoon and evening. The local Market runs throughout the week and is certainly the right place to come for exotic fruits and tantalising Street Food - the Green Fig & Salt Fish is local delicacy and it's not scarce, so perhaps try a few variants on this regional intricacy and let us know which is your favourite! The vendors are incredibly animated, so expect a show to be put on if you choose to explore this part of the island and brush up on those haggling skills. La Place Carenage and Point Seraphine are very popular Malls and if you bear in mind the added incentive of these complexes being Duty-Free, you and your guests will certainly get some good deals (A taxi back to your villa after such an excursion is suggested!).

Many holiday makers are surprised to learn of St Lucia’s rich cocoa legacy. Ever since the 1700’s this island has been producing cocoa related products, that are incredibly sought after all across the world. Morne Coubaril Estate and La Dauphine Estate specialise in showcasing how plantations use to gather & manufacture the Cocoa Bean fruit and organise educational tours. After learning all about St Lucia’s former booming cocoa industry, you will probably need some therapy…how about chocolate therapy like you’ve never encountered before? Enquire at some of the islands more renowned Spas and you’ll be able to experience the benefits of a chocolate facial and massage. Remember - Chocolate isn’t a food, it’s a medicine!

We have selected some of the most exciting villas on the island, so browse through these dreamy holiday homes and have a look at our cheeky little guide to St Lucia!

Prior to Booking

Please be aware that St Lucia is an island nation that experiences weather patterns dictated by the Atlantic Ocean to the north of the island and the Caribbean Sea to the south of the island. This tropical rainforest climate results in the island experiencing a hurricane season, which usually occurs between June to November. When thinking about booking your holiday to St Lucia, please consult Foreign travel advice for more information.

The place was gorgeous, and everything was seamless. Thanks to the team.

  • Exceptional

    on 16/07/2017

Our visit to Smugglers Nest was exceptional. This was our second visit and will not be our last. I can not begin to thank Olga and Ton for enhancing our stay by making sure that our every desire was met. A wonderful experience.

  • What an experience

    on 27/01/2017

All the staff were very trustworthy and we had no concerns about safetly or property left in the house at any time. Ton and Trevor take great care of the grounds and keep the garden/pool/gazebo areas very pleasant. We loved Olga's cooking and really appreciated her meticulous housekeeping. We could not have imagined a better or kinder group of people to share our honeymoon with.

  • Really lovely time spent at SN
