Villa Katarina is located right on the beachfront, just above the pier. The situation benefits from breath-taking sea views and a peaceful, quiet ambience. The villa is in the area of Bobovišća, on the west coast of Brac Island, not far from the charming town of Milna.

Brac Island is the longest and most elevated island in central Dalmatia. Despite its proximity to Split, Brac is less touristy than the glittering islands of Hvar and Korcula further south. Make sure you try some of the olive oil on the island, the olives are of a rare variety called buhavica and there's over a half-million trees! Famous for the Zlatni Rat beach, known to be one of the most beautiful beaches you can visit, a real gem on the island! Should you wish to explore the island and its surrounding areas, then fully guided professional trips and tours, boat transfers and rentals, and dinner reservations can be organised. The immediate area is better suited to those looking for an escape from the more touristic areas of Croatia, as there are less restaurants and bars nearby. However, should wish to spend a day exploring the racier pace of life, then Supetar and Bol are not so far away across the island and there is always the option to take a boat to Split, or the popular islands of Hvar and Korkula, where you can see a different side to the area. Brac Island itself offers ample activities and sites to keep you entertained. The glistening sea water is perfect for swimming or diving if you choose to explore the island from underwater!

The sun-kissed island of Brač, situated off Croatia’s stunning Dalmatian Coast, is much more than just a destination; it's an intriguing tapestry of culture, nature, and history. Brač is an island where the past and present seamlessly intertwine, and the beauty of the landscape is as enticing as its history is enthralling.

Located on the north coast of Brač, and connecting it to the mainland, is the port town of Supetar. It provides a warm welcome to the island, offering an array of cosy cafes serving up strong Croatian coffee and freshly baked pastries. The town’s palm-fringed promenade is a delightful spot for a stroll, and the Romanesque architecture and historic churches are testaments to its enduring history.

Just 40 minutes away, on the south coast of the island, is the idyllic town of Bol, renowned for its beautiful beaches. The most notable is the picture-perfect Zlatni Rat, known as the ‘Golden Horn’ - a stunning natural phenomenon that shifts shape with the tides and winds. The waters here are a dazzling shade of blue, offering a perfect setting for a day of relaxation and water sports.

The Bol Marina is lined with vibrant cafes and restaurants, the perfect place to delight in the local cuisine, including fresh seafood and exquisite Dalmatian wines. Walking along the charming seafront, you'll be immersed in the island's culture, with the scent of lavender lingering in the air from local shops selling handmade products.

Often listed as one of the prettiest towns in Europe, Pučišća is a small coastal town with a big personality, known for its white limestone and beautiful bay. As you wander through the town's enchanting streets, you'll encounter architectural gems built from the island's famous white stone that has been used in iconic structures worldwide, including the White House in Washington, D.C.

For the nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers, Brač offers an array of adventures. From windsurfing and scuba diving in the crystal-clear waters, to hiking the island's trails and cycling through the picturesque countryside, there's no shortage of activities to keep you engaged. A visit to Vidova Gora is an absolute must for any active traveller after their adrenaline fix! As the highest peak of all the Adriatic islands, it offers a breathtaking panorama of Brač and its surrounding islands. The hike to the top is an invigorating experience, rewarding you with unobstructed views of the island's diverse landscapes.

Brač is perfectly situated for island-hopping adventures. A short ferry ride will take you to neighbouring islands like Hvar and Vis, each boasting their own personality and offering a unique experience. From the vibrant nightlife of Hvar to the unspoiled beauty of Vis, these nearby islands complement a trip to Brač with additional cultural and natural discoveries.

A trip to Brač is an immersive experience that allows you to embrace a piece of Croatian history, savour the delights of the Mediterranean, and connect with the soul of an island where time seems to stand still. It's an island that will leave you with lasting memories, longing to return to its irresistible allure.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

There’s plenty of activities to do as a family on Brac, so explore it to its full!

There are several bicycle companies on the island, so make the most of the stunning scenery by hiring some bikes and touring the island. If the kids want to cool down and make a splash, take them to Aquapark Bol. This is an ideal place to let the kids run (or swim) ragged, whilst the parents rest their feet from the beach and enjoy a cold drink.

If you’re looking for something a little more educational and cultural, start off at the Olive Oil Museum. This will give the little ones a short history lesson on the manufacturing of Olive Oil and what instruments were used, as well as visiting the animals that were used to assist in the process…they might even let you try the Oil!

The Stonemason’s School do excellent guided tours that are child friendly. This is a particularly good day out whilst the weather is good, as you’ll be outside for a portion of the tour and you are in Pucisca where there are some excellent restaurants.

Reviews

  • Peaceful, idyllic beautifully appointed villa

    on 25/09/2021

This property is a jewel based in an isolated bay. It is very spacious and has lots of touches that emit quality. We had two weeks here and it was exactly what we wanted quiet but immersed in quality. Hosts were very good, friendly and accessible. The access is a challenge and as others have said a decent size 4 wheel drive is essential to be able to get in and out of the villa. We walked around the path to the local fishing village Bobovisca on a number of occasions and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the two restaurants and the shops stock. It was busy on a couple of occasion’s when there was a gathering of sailboats on a Thursday, but the double glazing worked in conjunction with the air on to ensure we still got a good nights sleep. Overall it exceeded our expectations and have no reservation in recommending.

  • Fabulous, beautiful home with stunning views.

    on 11/09/2019

Absolutely wonderful experience, everything and more the pictures describe. Home is meticulously clean, beautiful and spacious. The only drawback was access to the house-you need a suv. However, our hosts were nice enough to help us out with that too. I would absolutely go back again.

  • Beautiful and comfortable villa, in amazing quiet bay.

    on 21/07/2019

Beautiful Croatia and wonderful people, very relaxing vacation, among nature. The bay is beautiful, quite, the sea perfect. Villa is new, clean, beautifully designed, it has everything you could wish. Great hosts, thank you very much. 4x4 car is required, the road down the hill to the villa is not so simple.
