Villa Podelina is located outside the town of Sumartin on the eastern coast of Brac. Most easily accessed from the mainland via a ferry to Makarska, Sumartin is a small town with a rich history and has now become a popular tourist spot.

Sumartin was established in the 17th Century, and even today, the  Franciscan monastery still stands. There is now a neighbouring museum where you can learn more about the history of the island. Sumartin is also home to a number of convenient amenities, including supermarkets, bars and restaurants, all serving a range of foods and cuisines to suit all taste buds.

The island of Brac has been a popular holiday spot for several years, offering an island oasis for those who journey here. The island is most commonly accessed from Split Airport via a ferry to Supetar on the island's north coast. Supetar is Brac's largest town and offers a horseshoe-shaped beach and a great spot to stock up on supplies before heading to your villa. Small towns and villages dotted around the island are wonderful places to explore in the evenings as you head out for dinner.

Many of the beaches on Brac are pebbly or rocky, but there are a few sandy spots. Zlatni Rat, or Golden Horn as it is known, is a spit located on the southern coast of Brac near Bol. The beach is largely pebble but is thought to be one of the best beaches in Croatia, and its unique shape makes it popular with tourists.

Reviews

  • Best Villa in the world!

    on 22/08/2023

Outstanding location - peaceful, amazing views and yet a short walk the beautiful town. A very high standard of furnishings - all shower rooms were great and a well equipped kitchen. Outdoor eating, pool area and gardens just lovely.

  • Fantastic

    on 22/09/2022

We had an excellent time at Michelle's and her husband's villa. Communication was very straightforward both during arrival and on site and the two were always available and flexible for us. The house is perfectly located, fully equipped and offers a lot of privacy for a relaxing time. You can walk to the sea and the city or enjoy time by the pool. We highly recommend a reservation and would come back anytime.

  • Just amazing

    on 18/09/2022

We loved our stay here so much. The views are even better once you are there. There is such a feeling of calm and peace, it’s so relaxing. The villa is very well set out with everything we needed. It’s impeccably clean. Very importantly we slept so well here as it’s so quiet, But you are only a 10 minute walk to the very pretty port with restaurants and a small shop. Brac is a beautiful island. We took a boat out to explore the hidden coves and across to the island of Hvar. Michelle and her husband gave us excellent advice on this which we were extremely grateful for. Michele is really friendly and her communication was excellent. We were sad to leave here and would highly recommend!

  • Really nice villa

    on 03/09/2022

We were a group of 10 and enjoyed our stay a lot. Great location, quiet but not too far away from the village sumartin for groceries, really nice inside just like the photos. The host really nice and welcoming and we really recommend this place.

  • Wonderful Stay

    on 22/07/2022

A really wonderful stay. At arrival Michelle met us at the ferry and helped us with our bags back to the villa. They prepared a lovely spread of bread, local anchovies, cheese and cherry liqueur while they checked us in and showed us around and then left us to it.

The villa itself is located very well, the view down to the town from the terrace and pool is beautiful. Sumartin (the local town) is an easy (if hot) walk away and provides everything you really need, while it's not big it has a few restaurants, a bar, a bakery and a small supermarket.

The villa itself is very well furnished and has everything you need including a well equipped kitchen. It's clear the house was built to be lived in and that really shows. The whole trip was very relaxing and just what we wanted, Michelle and Fabijan are great hosts and very easy to contact and communicate with, I would recommend the Villa to anyone.

  • Superb hosts!

    on 07/07/2022

Easy living house and beautiful town. Lovely private location amongst the olive trees, but also easy to travel anywhere on the island for entertainment.

  • Amazing Time

    on 31/07/2021

We had an amazing time staying atVilla Podelina. The space worked perfectly for our two families, four adults and six children ranging from three to thirteen. The kids loved the pool and trips to stunning Sumartin beach. I can recommend the breathtaking views from the house of the ocean , lovely restaurants only a short walk into town and the boat trip arranged by Michelle to visit hvar and zlatni rat. Michelle was the perfect host and always happy to help with questions, transfers and local tips. Definitely recommend as an experience and feel positively refreshed after staying in such a peaceful and beautiful place.

  • We’d Love To Go Back

    on 22/08/2019

Two families (4 adults and 5 kids) have just spent a week at Villa Podelina and are already talking about how we’d love to go back! The villa is wonderfully comfortable, well-equipped and the views from the pool and terrace are stunning. The local town of Sumartin is a short walk away with beautiful beaches, a supermarket and great restaurants. There’s so much to see on Brac, but we loved our days and evenings hanging out at the villa too. Michelle and Fabijan were brilliant hosts and a day on the boat with Fabijan visiting Hvar and the secluded coves of Brac was everyone’s highlight

  • Reccomended 100%

    on 21/08/2019

The villa is really fantastic, so much better than what I expected. The rooms are beautiful and each with huge bathroom. The villa is totally new refurnished and you have all comforts. The view and the pool are really amazing. The house is sorrounded by olives and it looks a corner of pardise. Also the location in Sumartin is perfect, which for me is certainly the cutest town of the island and the closeby beach is wonderful. The hosts have been extremely nice and helpful for everything. Reccomended 100%.

  • Gorgeous Villa, Sparkling Clean

    on 18/07/2019

2 families, 10 of us in total stayed at Michelle and Fabijan’s place in July. The villa was gorgeous and sparkling clean. They were fabulous hosts, going the extra mile to organise boat trips, giving local advice and sharing some homemade cherry brandy with us! The pool was fantastic, it was hard to drag the kids away at the end of the day. The little touches, like being able to pick our own vegetables from the garden, and games and books, were appreciated. The location is great, really quiet but with everything you need in walking distance. The local village was lovely, with great places to swim and connections to havr as well as a ferry to the mainland. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back. read less
