Location
About the surrounding area of Villa SivaThe location of this villa is just on the outskirts of the small town of Sucuraj, which on the eastern tip of the Hvar Island. With a population of less than five hundred, it’s main use is as a port town between Hvar and the mainland. It’s a very pretty, quiet town to explore, with the main activities, apart from visiting a few of the restaurants, centring around visiting the various beaches and alcoves in the area. The natural beauty and seclusion of the beaches is a luxury as it is generally undisturbed by tourists.
If you’re looking for more activities, you’ll have to travel a little further out. The first option would be to explore the rest of the island. The island is known for its ancient hamlets, vineyards and most famously its lavender fields. You can explore the island in many ways, taking tours by boat and catamaran, taking cycling trips around the island, or going on vineyard tours. The southern coast is famous for some of the most beautiful coves in all of Croatia.
Of course, the main attraction of the island is Hvar town. There is so much sightseeing to be done here including the Franciscan Monetary and the Fortica that has fantastic panoramic views. Hvar Town is also well known for its nightlife with the rich and famous coming from far and wide. The town is littered with bars, restaurants, and nightclubs and once a year, there is also the world-renowned yacht week.
Another option is to head to the mainland. You can take the ferry from Sucuraj down to Drevnik and from there explore the Dalmatian coast. There are many interesting coastal towns, all of which are steeped in history. There are also plenty of activities both on sea and on land due to the mountainous landscape. This makes it a great destination for outdoor activities.

Region
The island of Hvar stands out as one of Croatia's most enchanting destinations - a picturesque paradise that seamlessly combines natural beauty, historical charm and a lively cultural scene. The sun-drenched island’s stunning landscapes provide a picture-perfect backdrop to a whole wealth of
unforgettable experiences.
At the heart of the island is the port town of Hvar, a historic gem known for its well-preserved architecture and timeless allure. Take a wander through the traffic-free labyrinth of narrow streets, where you can soak up the charm of the island. The central square of Hvar Town is a bustling hub surrounded by centuries-old buildings and lively cafes - it’s a popular spot to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine from one of the many cafes and restaurants. The square is also home to the imposing St. Stephen's Cathedral, a beautiful example of Dalmatian Renaissance architecture.
Overlooking the town is the Hvar Fortress, a medieval citadel with a history dating back to the 13th century. The fortress is worthy of a visit for the epic panoramic views that stretch across the town and the Adriatic Sea. The ascent is especially rewarding it at sunset, when you can watch the town's
lights sparkle below.
Heading inland just a few kilometres from Hvar Town, the village of Velo Grablje is famous for its lavender fields. Visit during the summer and you'll be treated to the sight and scent of the vast fields in full bloom. The island is also celebrated for its vineyards and olive groves, producing some of Croatia's best wines and olive oils. Many wineries and oil mills offer tastings and tours, allowing
you to sample these local delights while learning about traditional production methods.
Just a short boat ride from the harbour of Hvar are the Pakleni Islands, a group of islets renowned for their pristine beaches, hidden coves, and emerald sea. The idyllic surroundings offer a tranquil escape from the bustle of the main island, making it a favoured day trip destination. Explore hidden
bays, discover secluded beaches, and enjoy water sports in this unspoiled paradise. The uninhabited resort of Palmižana on the island of Sveti Clement is a particular highlight - a hidden oasis known for its lush botanical gardens and crystal-clear water.
For outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers, Hvar's natural beauty provides a picturesque playground. Hvar offers numerous cycling trails for both beginners and experienced riders. The island's diverse terrain is ideal for exploring the charming villages, olive groves, and vineyards on two wheels. Or for a unique perspective of the islands scenic beauty, you can experience the Adriatic up close and paddle along the dramatic coastline in a kayak, discovering coves and sea caves.
Hvar, is a Mediterranean paradise that promises an array of unforgettable experiences. Whether you're wandering through the historic streets of Hvar Town, discovering hidden coves on the Pakleni Islands, or savouring local wines and delicacies, the island offers a blend of cultural exploration, natural beauty, and relaxation that's hard to match.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesDespite the location being rather quiet and perhaps not the most child friendly, the villa most certainly is. The size of the villa means there is a lot of space for large families. Then of course, you have the activities room which comes extremely well equipped. This allows for adults and children to enjoy their own separate activities if they so wish. The pool area is also a brilliant space for kids as it comes equipped with toys and inflatables, so the kids can spend the day having fun in the sun.
The area of Sucuraj is certainly lacking in options for children. The main choice would be to head to some of the beaches, as children always enjoy a day in the sea. However, due to its quiet nature you may have to stretch further afield to find places for water sports.
The island of Hvar does have some activities for children. Boat tours would be a fun way of exploring the island, and there also biking and hiking options. There are some fun places for sightseeing such as the various monasteries and fortresses that were mentioned earlier. You can also take them to Hvar town with a livelier atmosphere where you can enjoy some fun events and great food. There is also the option of heading to the mainland. Here you’ll find plenty of activities again mentioned earlier.
The mainland perhaps will provide you with more options for the children. However, it may take a long time to travel so take that into consideration.
