Overview
Villa Kapetan is located on the north coast of the island of Solta in Croatia's Adriatic Sea. Found just outside of the village of Necujam, Villa Kapetan enjoys views of the nearby bay from each floor. The villa comfortably sleeps six guests across its three bedrooms, plus a further two on a sofa bed if needed, allowing guests to truly unwind and relax as they enjoy the villa's surroundings.
The villa's design makes the most of the stunning sea views while also allowing seamless flow throughout. From the driveway, you enter the villa onto the first floor where you are welcomed into a spacious open-plan living-kitchen-dining room. The living area is centred around a stone fireplace with a wall-mounted television that is surrounded by a rich, dark sofa and accompanying armchairs that are perfect for snuggling up in the evenings. Behind the living area and adjacent to the kitchen is the dining area. Eight guests can dine in style at the dining table, or if you want to dine alfresco, there is a further dining area on the covered terrace on the floor below. The kitchen is simple and clean, with white cabinets and worktops, it is equipped with all you could need to cook up a feast for family and friends. The large sliding doors allow light to stream in and brighten up the space, and the seating on the balcony means you can drink in the sea views while being able to easily pop back to the kitchen to find yourself a drink of another kind!
All the bedrooms at Villa Kapetan are found on the ground floor, with two of the bedrooms benefitting from direct access to the pool terrace, so you only have to walk a few metres for your early morning swim! The bedrooms are designed with a calming neutral palette with splashes of blue bringing some colour to the rooms and matching the azure waters of the bay outside. Each bedroom boasts a sumptuous double bed with plump pillows perfect for a good night's rest. Two of the bedrooms offer their own en-suite bathrooms, providing a little extra privacy for those that would prefer it. The final bedroom has a choice of two family bathrooms, one on each floor, so there is plenty of space for everyone to get ready in peace.
Outside is where you will no doubt spend most of your time, and this space at Villa Kapetan certainly does not disappoint! The 8m x 3.7m private swimming pool takes centre stage - it even boasts a hydro massage system so you can truly relax! The terrace is lined with sun loungers to make the most of the Croatian sunshine, but if you would like to seek some shade, then the covered terrace is the perfect place. To one side, the covered terrace provides a spacious outdoor lounge area with comfortable sofas, perfect for an afternoon siesta. To the other side, you will find the outdoor kitchen, equipped with a barbecue, dishwasher, fridge and accompanying dining area suitable for eight guests, allowing you to truly embrace outdoor living! A few steps down past the pool takes you to a playground with a trampoline and table tennis that will suit any kids in the group.
Villa Kapetan is the ideal retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life to unwind and relax on the quaint Croatian island of Solta.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa KapetanAt 19 km long and 5 km wide, the island of Solta is one of the smaller islands in the Dalmatian archipelago. Solta has historically been a summer getaway for those that live on the mainland and tourism on the island is starting to develop further, but it is still not as busy as some of Croatia's other islands, such as neighbouring Brac or Hvar.
Located 15 km from Split, the island is reached by a short ferry ride from the city which arrives into the town of Rogac. This quaint harbour town hosts a number of amenities, including an ATM, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket, making it easy to stock up on essentials before heading to your villa.
Villa Kapetan is located on the edge of the village of Necujam, overlooking the bay. Necujam has long been a popular tourist spot thanks to its wide bay and pebbled beach. There are a few restaurants in the village when you feel like dining out of the villa, but as Solta is such a small island, travelling to another village won't take much time at all if you would like to explore a little further.
Many of the activities on the island revolve around the production of honey and olive oil, which has occurred on Solta for centuries. A visit to one of these farms allows visitors to catch a glimpse of traditional island life and learn more about Solta's history and culture. Solta is also popular with those who enjoy sailing, with boat rental available on the island to explore the coastline and nearby islands.
Like much of Croatia, many of the beaches and bays on Solta are pebble or rocky, but the one sandy beach can be found in Sipkova cove, which is on the islands west coast. The main beach in Maslinica is a largely pebble beach, but it is a good place to go if you would like to rent a kayak or a small boat to explore the inlets surrounding the beach. There is also a beach bar nearby, so you can refresh with a nice cold drink out of the sun.

Whether you're drawn to the beauty of the island’s breath-taking beaches and tranquil natural bays, the historical allure of its villages, or the simple pleasure of olive oil tasting, this quaint island is perfect for those seeking an authentic Croatian escape. One of Solta's most appealing qualities is its relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. The island is a place to slow down, unwind, and reconnect with nature. The island remains relatively undeveloped, allowing visitors to experience a genuine and unfiltered slice of Croatia.
As you explore Solta, you'll find a range of attractions that showcase the island's natural beauty and historical significance. Among these, the Maslinica Marina stands out. This charming harbour village offers a serene ambiance and beautiful views out to sea. If you're a beach lover, Solta won't disappoint. The island is blessed with several beautiful beaches, each with its own unique character. Rogac Beach, near the main ferry port, is a convenient choice for travellers arriving by boat. Its crystal-clear waters and lush green surroundings make it a perfect spot for a swim or a lazy day in the sun. In contrast, Sesula Beach offers a more secluded experience, accessible by boat or via a scenic walk through pine forests.
Adventure seekers can also partake in various water sports and activities on Solta. The clear waters of the Adriatic are perfect for snorkelling, diving, and sailing. Kayaking and paddle-boarding are popular ways to explore the island’s coast and secluded coves. For those who wish to experience the thrill of the open sea, fishing excursions are available.
Solta is also home to numerous hiking and biking trails that wind through lush olive groves, fragrant lavender fields, and pine-scented forests. These trails are perfect for exploration, providing opportunities to connect with the island's unspoiled natural beauty.
Solta's largest settlement is the intriguing village of Grohote. Known for its well-preserved architecture, this quaint village has narrow streets and stone houses that give you a glimpse into traditional Dalmatian life. The church of St. Stephen is a notable landmark in Grohote, showcasing centuries of history and artistic influences.
The island of Solta is best explored at a leisurely pace, whether you're taking a scenic drive along its winding roads, hiking through its lush landscapes, or simply relaxing on one of its serene beaches, it offers a truly authentic experience for those seeking to immerse themselves in the rich culture and natural beauty of Croatia's Dalmatian coast.

Views were amazing
Views were amazing, facilities in the house were excellent, lots of water sports equipment provided, along with a games console if required. The pool, jacuzzi & table tennis table were also excellent and well used by our family. The host was very nice & helpful & even baked us a cake! The house is very modern, clean, comfortable & luxurious. We really enjoyed the house itself. A very steep decline from the house to the waters edge - very challenging. A car is a must, as the location was several kilometres away from any town. Towns were picturesque but very small & were boat friendly but not car friendly. Restaurants were limited.

Outstanding
Words cannot do this villa justice, it was just outstanding. The island was quiet in comparison to Split but that was exactly what we wanted. There are plenty of bars restaurants close to the villa if you want to venture out but we were happy to spend our time in the villa enjoying the breathtaking views. Sanja was a magnificent host & looked after us so well. There was literally everything we needed in the villa. The kayaks & paddle boards were used lots. She had a beautiful platter of food waiting for us & a local bottle of wine which was such a lovely touch. I would definitely return.

Truly amazing
We had an amazing time at the villa. Truly amazing. We enjoyed every minute. The house was spotless with everything we could possibly need. The kids spent the whole week in the pool and on the sea. It surpassed all our expectations and we have already been recommending you to all our friends. Thank you so much!

Can only recommend it
Very nice hostess. She was available at all times. She also gave information about local activities. The house looks very nice and modern from the outside and inside. Nothing was missing and the jacuzzi and the large pool were also perfect. We felt comfortable and can only recommend it. Outside the season it was quieter on the island but perfect for switching off.

Amazing house, amazing place
Really has a luxurious feel. If you want to unwind this is the place to do that! Watch the sunset over the hills and the boats coming in/out of the bay from the hot tub or the balcony. Miss it already. Sanja was a great host & very helpful.
