Located in the village of Necujam on the north coast of the island of Solta sits Villa Necu. Boasting a sleek, modern design with a private swimming pool and four bedrooms, Villa Necu can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests in style.

The village of Necujam has long been popular with visitors to Solta thanks to its wide bay. Although rocky, this beach is a great spot for swimming in the azure waters of the Adriatic. The village is home to a few restaurants, which are easily reached from the villa, perfect for when you fancy a night off from cooking.

Villa Necu offers 200m2 of living space spread over two floors and enjoys wonderful views of the bay. The open-plan living area is on the ground floor and is configured in an L-shape. To the rear is the living area, with a vibrant green sofa and accompanying armchair set around a large flat-screen television, this is the perfect place to snuggle up together and relax in the evenings. The dining area and kitchen are located to the front of the room next to the large sliding doors that open out onto the pool terrace allowing sunlight to stream in and brighten up the room. The dining area seats eight guests around a stylish wooden table with matching chairs. A further three guests can be seated at the breakfast bar, so guests can keep the chef of the group company as they cook up a feast. The kitchen is sleek and modern, with white counters and cabinets and is equipped with all you could need to cook a delicious homecooked meal.

The first of the four bedrooms is found on the ground floor. Offering calming neutral decor with a good-sized double bed and modern en-suite bathroom, this bedroom can be transformed into a quiet oasis for guests to retreat to. The remaining bedrooms are all on the first floor. The master bedroom boasts a sumptuous double bed and sleek en-suite bathroom with access to the upper balcony to enjoy the wonderful sea views. The final two bedrooms are both home to two single beds and share the use of a family bathroom also on this floor - these bedrooms are great for siblings or friends to share.

The modern design continues outside at Villa Necu, with the 8m x 2m private swimming pool taking centre stage. The terrace is easily accessed from the kitchen and living area thanks to large sliding doors allowing the terrace and living area to be on one level. Sun loungers are found next to the pool, so adults can relax in the sun while younger guests play in the pool nearby. There is also an outdoor dining area seating eight guests to the front of the terrace which enjoys the sweeping views of the sea and mainland in the distance.

Villa Necu is located in the village of Necujam on the north coast of Solta in Croatia's Adriatic Sea. The village is home to a few small restaurants and is best known for its wide bay. This pebble beach is less than 1 km from the villa and is a great place to visit for a swim in the sea and to explore the local area.

A number of other villages and bays are scattered around Solta, including Maslinica on the island's west coast. This small town was once a quiet fishing village but is home to a number of amenities and restaurants serving tourists. The main beach here offers the opportunity to rent a kayak or small boat to explore the inlets along the coastline. And Solta's only sandy beach at Sipkova Cove is located not far from the town and is a popular spot for a day out.

Solta is most commonly reached via ferry from Split, which arrives into the main port of Rogac on the island. This ferry ride takes around an hour, and once you arrive, Rogac is a great place to stock up on any essential supplies before heading to your villa. Alternatively, you can hop on a catamaran from Split to Rogac, which takes around 30 minutes.

Solta is one of the less touristy islands in Croatia's Dalmatian archipelago, and sitting at 19 km long and 5 km wide, it is also one of the smallest. Nevertheless, the island has had a steady stream of visitors over the years, and tourism is starting to increase on the island. Historically, olive oil and honey production, as well as fishing, were the main sources of income on the island and today such industries are opening up to tourists. Visitors can visit one of the farms to learn more about the history of the island and catch a glimpse of traditional island life. Tourists can also rent boats to explore Solta's unique coastline as well as nearby islands.

Region

The enchanting island of Solta, located in the central Dalmatian archipelago, is an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat, a taste of authentic Croatian culture, and opportunities to explore the stunning landscapes of the Adriatic coast.

Whether you're drawn to the beauty of the island’s breath-taking beaches and tranquil natural bays, the historical allure of its villages, or the simple pleasure of olive oil tasting, this quaint island is perfect for those seeking an authentic Croatian escape. One of Solta's most appealing qualities is its relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. The island is a place to slow down, unwind, and reconnect with nature. The island remains relatively undeveloped, allowing visitors to experience a genuine and unfiltered slice of Croatia.

As you explore Solta, you'll find a range of attractions that showcase the island's natural beauty and historical significance. Among these, the Maslinica Marina stands out. This charming harbour village offers a serene ambiance and beautiful views out to sea. Its picturesque waterfront, lined with stone buildings and fishing boats, is a delightful place to take a leisurely stroll and savour the local seafood in one of the waterfront restaurants.

If you're a beach lover, Solta won't disappoint. The island is blessed with several beautiful beaches, each with its own unique character. Rogac Beach, near the main ferry port, is a convenient choice for travellers arriving by boat. Its crystal-clear waters and lush green surroundings make it a perfect spot for a swim or a lazy day in the sun. In contrast, Sesula Beach offers a more secluded experience, accessible by boat or via a scenic walk through pine forests.

Adventure seekers can also partake in various water sports and activities on Solta. The clear waters of the Adriatic are perfect for snorkelling, diving, and sailing. Kayaking and paddle-boarding are popular ways to explore the island’s coast and secluded coves. For those who wish to experience the thrill of the open sea, fishing excursions are available.

Solta is also home to numerous hiking and biking trails that wind through lush olive groves, fragrant lavender fields, and pine-scented forests. These trails are perfect for exploration, providing opportunities to connect with the island's unspoiled natural beauty.

Solta's largest settlement is the intriguing village of Grohote. Known for its well-preserved architecture, this quaint village has narrow streets and stone houses that give you a glimpse into traditional Dalmatian life. The church of St. Stephen is a notable  landmark in Grohote, showcasing centuries of history and artistic influences.

The island of Solta is best explored at a leisurely pace, whether you're taking a scenic drive along its winding roads, hiking through its lush landscapes, or simply relaxing on one of its serene beaches, it offers a truly authentic experience for those seeking to immerse themselves in the rich culture and natural beauty of Croatia's Dalmatian coast.
