Overview
Nestled on a lush hillside close to the azure Dalmatian coastline, Villa Konavoski Miri is a delightful three-bedroom stone villa and the perfect retreat for six guests seeking an idyllic holiday experience. Built into the rocky cliffside, this welcoming villa boasts a range of cosy interiors, airy al fresco dining spaces, and a stunning swimming pool where guests can lounge in the Croatian sun and revitalise.
Stepping into the villa on the ground floor, guests are greeted by a warm and inviting open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, walled by stone bricks, roofed by exposed wooden beamed ceilings, and adorned with tasteful furnishings. The lounge area boasts plush sofas, a TV, and a fireplace, inviting you to unwind after a day of exploration.
The well-equipped kitchen beckons culinary enthusiasts to revel in its range of modern Smeg appliances and ample counter space. Cooking becomes a joy whether you’re tossing together a Mediterranean Salad or preparing a holiday feast for family and friends. A rustic kitchen counter and adjacent wooden dining table provide an intimate gathering setting for family and friends.
Venture upstairs, and you’ll discover three thoughtfully designed bedrooms, each a haven of comfort. Each bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed adorned in calming tones, a dedicated workspace, and an ensuite bathroom with double sink and walk-in shower. Whether preparing for a day of sightseeing or unwinding before bedtime, these spaces provide a perfect balance of functionality and style.
Descending to the villa’s lower floor reveals a separate kitchenette, living, and dining space built into the rocky cliffside that feels like a private cavern. The private wine cellar adds to this feeling, ensuring a cosy retreat where groups can retreat at the end of a long day to enjoy a glass of wine by amber candlelight.
But undoubtedly, Villa Konavoski Miri’s outdoor spaces are a sanctuary unto themselves. Step onto the terrace and immerse yourself in the captivating views of the abundant Dalmatian landscape of lush greenery and reaching poplars. A private swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers beckons for refreshing dips, beside which guests will find the pool house. Under the pool house’s vaulted ceilings is another dining space, summer kitchen, BBQ grill and traditional pizza oven.
But the outdoor spaces don’t stop there. On various tiered terraces, a shaded jacuzzi, gazebo, and multiple al fresco dining spaces where guests can gather in the Croatian sun and create memories to last a lifetime. Embrace the laid-back lifestyle, explore the nearby beaches, and return to your tranquil haven in this Croatian paradise.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa Konavoski MiriSet in the lovely Dalmatian countryside, Villa Konavoski Miri is by no means remote. The nearest beach (5-minute drive) is close at hand. The nearby village of Gruda (7-minute drive) is the best place to get your essentials, thanks to its supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants.
The charming seaside resort of Cavtat (a 17-minute drive) is an even better option. Not only does it offer all the essentials, including supermarkets, cafes, bars, boutique shopping, scenic locales and excellent restaurants (try out La Boheme), but it also has some stunning swimming spots and opportunities for boat hire and ferry services.
Despite its small size, Cavtat is big on culture. The House of Vlaho Bukovac is very close to the villa. This superb museum is dedicated to the Croatian painter born in Cavtat in 1855. The Racic Mausoleum, also close to the villa, was built in 1921 and designed by the famed Croatian sculptor and architect Ivan Mestrovic using beautiful white stone from the island of Brac. Cavtat hosts a bustling summer festival from June to September with cultural performances, including music, dance, street performances, and more. The summer carnival takes place in early July for two days each year.
But the true gem of the region is undoubtedly Dubrovnik (35-minute drive), the city dubbed by the poet Byron as “the pearl of the Adriatic”. The Dubrovnik Riviera is the local highlight and one of the most beautiful locales in Europe. Outside the city’s medieval walls are countless spots to swim and sunbathe, while within the city walls, the Old Town’s limestone streets and Baroque churches are endless enough to get lost in.
Game of Thrones fans will recognise many parts of the city as filming locations, including Fort Lovrjenac for the Red Keep and the Rector’s Palace as the Spice King’s Qarth abode. There are even dedicated tours on offer. But don’t forget, Fort Lovrjenac regularly transforms into an outdoor theatre space in the summertime where plays by Shakespeare are regularly performed – but you’ll need to get tickets in advance!
If history is your thing, have no fear; Dubrovnik is bustling with it. Interestingly, some of that history isn’t as old as you might think. Indeed, the Red History Museum shows how Croatians lived when their country was a part of Socialist Yugoslavia (1945-1991); displays include a typical 1970s apartment and the sinister history of the Yugoslav secret police.
For a quieter but no less picturesque day out, nearby Mlini (24-minute drive) is a small, idyllic fishing village located halfway between Cavtat and Dubrovnik with a charming harbour, a delightful pebble and sand beach, cafés and restaurants and the most stunning sunsets.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesDubrovnik has many sights, activities, and educational opportunities for children. Take the Maritime Museum with its aquarium, for instance; this cool reprieve from the hot sun boasts a vast array of aquatic life, and there’s even a homemade ice cream store right outside!
Of course, if your kids are Game of Thrones fans, they will be over the moon to catch glimpses of various sets from the show. There are guided tours on offer which take you around the Old Town to some of the show’s most notable settings.
Just outside the walls of the Old Town, you will find the base point of the Cable Car, which takes you up to the summit of Mount Srd. The views from the top are breathtaking, and the cable car means you won’t have to drag the kids up the mountain on foot!
But perhaps the best way to explore the region’s stunning Adriatic coastline and archipelago is a boat tour. Many companies offer various tours, or you can hire a boat and head out to explore nearby islands.
And, of course, Dubrovnik is also a central hub for a wide range of water sports, from jet skiing and parasailing to paddle boarding and snorkelling. Everything you could imagine can be found in this Adriatic gem.
