Stunningly situated on a serene, secluded cove a short distance north of Dubrovnik, the 4-bedroom Villa Malvina accommodates up to 8 guests in Adriatic opulence and coastal charm.

Stepping into the villa, guests are greeted by an airy, open living and dining area defined by tasteful neutral tones and plush furnishings. Floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto serene water views invite natural light into the space, generating a bright ambience for memorable meals.

The open-plan living and dining area seamlessly flows into the adjacent kitchen, which is fully equipped to cater to culinary enthusiasts. Whether you’re tossing together a Mediterranean Salad or preparing a holiday feast for family and friends, this kitchen’s range of modern appliances and ample counter space make cooking a dream.

Villa Malvina offers four well-appointed bedrooms spread over its two storeys. On the ground floor and adjacent to the living room guests will find a sleekly decorated bedroom including a queen-sized bed, TV, closet and access to the guest bathroom with shower. Ascending the stairs reveals three more bedrooms, including the spacious master bedroom with queen-sized bed, chic dedicated work space, and ensuite bathroom with shower. Another bedroom includes a queen-sized bed, TV, closet, vaulted wooden ceiling and access to a family bathroom and shower which it shares with the last bedroom – which also consists of a queen-sized bed, storage space, and TV.

Before guests make their way onto the terrace and Villa Malvina’s spectacular outdoor spaces, there remain a few special surprises inside. Specifically, an indoor jacuzzi with TV and panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, and a picturesque stone balcony that’s simply the perfect place for a romantic meal or a seaside breakfast.

Of course, Villa Malvina’s sprawling terrace is a real highlight. Here guests can dive into the turquoise swimming pool, relax on sun loungers on the lawn or dine al fresco. What is more, the terrace boasts direct access to the shoreline, meaning guests can wake up and dive in the Adriatic or take a kayak for a paddle around the secluded bay which Villa Malvina calls home.

Whether you are a family seeking a retreat or a group of friends eager for a memorable getaway, Villa Malvina invites you to create lasting memories in a haven of comfort and beauty.

Stunningly situated in a secluded bay north of Dubrovnik (a 16-minute drive), Villa Malvina is a sanctuary, but that doesn’t mean it’s isolated. The short trip around, or across, the bay brings guests to the beautiful port town of Zaton, where they can find beaches, restaurants, cafes, and markets.

But of course, with such proximity to the city dubbed by the poet Byron as “the pearl of the Adriatic”, the Dubrovnik Riviera is the local highlight and one of the most beautiful locales in Europe. Outside the city’s medieval walls are countless spots to swim and sunbathe, while within the city walls the Old Town’s limestone streets and Baroque churches are endless enough to get lost in.

Game of Thrones fans will recognise many parts of the city as filming locations, including Fort Lovrjenac for the Red Keep, and the Rector’s Palace as the Spice King’s Qarth abode. There are even dedicated tours on offer. But don’t forget, Fort Lovrjenac regularly transforms into an outdoor theatre space in the summertime where plays by Shakespeare are regularly performed – but you’ll need to get tickets in advance!
If history is your then, then have no fear, Dubrovnik is bustling with it.

Interestingly, some of that history isn’t as old as you might think. Indeed, the Red History Museum shows how Croatians lived when their country was a part of Socialist Yugoslavia (1945-1991); displays include a typical 1970s apartment and the sinister history of the Yogoslav secret police.
For a quieter but no less picturesque day out, nearby Mlini (24-minute drive) is a small, idyllic fishing village located halfway between Cavtat and Dubrovnik with a charming harbour, a delightful pebble and sand beach, cafés and restaurants and the most stunning sunsets.

Villa Malvina’s swimming pool and direct access to a secluded bay make it perfect for families with children. Not only can the kids play and explore within sight of parents, but nearby Dubrovnik is brimming with fun activities.

Dubrovnik has many sights, activities, and educational opportunities for children. Take the Maritime Museum with its aquarium for instance, this cool reprieve from the hot sun boasts a vast array of aquatic life, and there’s even a homemade ice cream store right outside!

Of course, if you’re kids are Game of Thrones fans, they will be over the moon to catch glimpses of various sets from the show. There are guided tours on offer which take you around the Old Town to some of the show’s most notable settings.

Just outside the walls of the Old Town you will find the base point of the Cable Car which takes you up to the summit of Mount Srd. The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking, and the cable car means you won’t have to drag the kids up the mountain on foot!

But perhaps the best way to explore the region’s stunning Adriatic coastline and archipelago is a boat tour. There are a great many companies that offer various tours, or you can hire a boat yourself and head out to explore nearby islands.

  • You will not be disappointed

    on 17/01/2024

Stunning. We went with high expectations and they were surpassed immediately. The most beautiful home in the most beautiful of locations - incredibly friendly and welcoming host owner who made our stay so much more incredible. He even fired up the grill for us one night, and brought fresh fruit and vegetables hand picked from his gardens.

  • What a sadness to have to go home!

    on 29/11/2023

Thanks again to Darko for this welcome, we had a great week in this peaceful haven and this beautiful villa by the water.
The little touches, the house amenities, the canoes, everything was great!

  • We had a truly wonderful stay.

    on 15/09/2023

The house is stunning and incredibly well equipped, both in the kitchen and bathroom. Wifi and air conditioning are great. The waterfront location is amazing, especially with the free use of 3 kayaks and a paddleboard, as well as the water volleyball net in the pool and the ping pong table. Our 5 'kids' aged between 22 and 27 had loads to do in the villa but also went jet skiing 10 minutes away and Darko arranged for his lovely nephew Luka to take us out to visit the Elaphite Islands for a day on his boat. It was an amazing day, like no other! There are good restaurants within 10 minutes walk, and some a bit further round the bay, as well as two small supermarkets, again 10 minutes walk (quicker by kayak!). Dubrovnik is only 15 mins away by uber (cheapest way). Darko is an exemplary host! He cooked the most delicious meat and fish barbecue for us one evening and it was lovely enjoying his company. It was so good we are returning next next year!

  • Wonderful stay

    on 12/09/2023

We had a wonderful stay with our family. The place is gorgeous and right on the water. The kids loved the pool and the kayaks on the sea. Near Dubrovnik and local amenities. Darko was super friendly and helpful. Went out of his way to ensure we had a lovely time. Brought us olive oil and figs from his Grove and grilled local fish. A very memorable trip. We didn't want to leave. Thank you!

  • Paradise in Croatia

    on 08/07/2023

Villa Malvina is an amazing location for a holiday and even better than the photos show.
Zaton is a charming small town on the sea with a few good restaurants and a couple of supermarkets. The villa itself is right on the waters edge and swimming each morning in the sea was a highlight. The house is large, clean and very well equipped, especially the kitchen. We loved playing water polo in the pool and kayaking on the sea in the kayaks. Darko the owner is a lovely man and so helpful. He is always available to help or give tips on what to see / do. Thanks Darko for the loan of your beautiful house !

  • A truly memorable holiday enhanced by this beautiful property

    on 15/06/2023

An amazing property which felt like ‘home’ for the 2 weeks we stayed there on our family holiday-Everything had been thought out meticulously and provided us a reason to want to definitely return in the future.

  • Best host ever!

    on 11/06/2023

He was kind enough to drive us to the grocery store and...wait for it.... went out in the kayak and caught fresh mussels. He ended up cooking and joining us for dinner. Great place to relax. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the place.

  • Brilliant stay

    on 31/10/2021

Excellent location next to waterfront. Host extremely friendly and helpful. Kayaks provided for you to enjoy the sea. Large heated pool available. Located close to shops and restaurants

  • Fantastic holiday relaxation

    on 07/07/2021

A unique place. Perfect for relaxation and rest. Incredibly helpful hosts. The area is quiet, just like the bay itself. Kayaks available. Ample parking. There are shops, a pharmacy and several restaurants nearby. The facility itself is a revelation. Tastefully decorated and very clean. Very functional bathrooms. A fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor grill. The hospitality of the hosts - many other places can envy it. Special greetings to Darko and his family. Dubrovnik at your fingertips - a short car trip - although in such temperatures it is difficult to talk about a comfortable visit to the old town.
