Villa Fananza is a modern and bright villa in the heart of Istria. Sleeping eight guests across its four bedrooms, it offers a quiet retreat from the busy streets of Pula. The private pool and hot tub are the perfect ways to unwind and relax into your wonderful holiday in Istria.
As you enter the villa, you will immediately step into the spacious open-plan ground floor. The kitchen occupies the back wall with plenty of storage space and ample room for cooking big meals. The island unit is a wonderful feature, with three stools, it’s a great space for more casual dining or even reading the paper. The dining table flows on from the kitchen, with seating for all the guests, and located opposite the large patio doors, it’s a wonderfully bright and airy space. Stepping into the living area, you will notice the softer colour of wood underfoot, this sets the scene for cosy nights in with a large corner sofa and television. It is easy to imagine peaceful evenings laying across the sofa watching a little bit of television after another great day exploring. Or for those who enjoy a novel, enjoy relaxing in the hanging chair, as you gently swing and get stuck into your favourite book.
Also in the villa is a games room, a second living room and hot tub. The games room offers table tennis for a little bit of fun for the whole group, as well as a darts board and mini basketball hoop. The games room also has a home gym, with some great equipment to work out with. The second living room can be found in the loft and has plenty of space for games and a couple of sofas to relax and enjoy late-night conversations with your loved ones. The hot tub is always a popular place to gather for a bit of relaxation before dinner.
The villa has three double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, with five bathrooms in the property there is plenty of space for everyone to have their own privacy. Each of the bedrooms is warm in its décor with soft colours and bright windows looking out on the terrace.
Outside, the villa has a private pool surrounded by sun loungers. The summer kitchen is a fantastic feature with two barbecues and a sink, making outdoor cooking a simple pleasure. The outdoor dining area is covered and offers guests privacy during wonderful evening meals in the cool Croatian evenings.

- The hot tub is indoors, but still offers guests the perfect way to relax into the evening
- The bedrooms each offer a chest of draws for you to unpack, but it may not seem so much space if there are two of you with big suitcases

About the surrounding area of Villa FananzaVilla Fananza is settled in the unspoilt heartland of Istria near the small village of Butkovici, this peaceful area is off the beaten track and offers a lovely escape from the busier tourist towns in Istria. The nearby town of Jursici offers a shop to buy groceries, while there are a number of restaurants a short drive away. The closest beach is Fanaza, less than a twenty-minute drive away. Here you can enjoy the calm crystal blue waters with a cooling swim and then head further north along the coast, exploring the seaside villages and beaches as you pass through.
A visit to Pula is highly recommended, explore the ancient towns amazing history as you delve into the narrow streets and amazing ruins. Be sure to visit the ancient Roman Amphitheatre, as it is considered the best preserved in the world, and still hosts all sorts of events today! Pula is also great for those seeking a little nightlife, the town has a plethora of bars open till late and offers a vibrant and fun scene.
There are several boat tours available from Pula that explore the amazing coastline and uncover numerous hidden beaches and caves. Ask to go to the Blue Cave, only accessible by boat, the beautiful colour of the cave walls is a real wonder. A trip to the islands is also recommended, here you can enjoy the amazing views and unspoilt beaches as you stop for lunch.
All along the coast, there are numerous places offering a great array of water sport activities. Try your hand a water-skiing, or even go parasailing at sunset for a view unlike any other. There are plenty of scuba diving spots for both experienced and new divers. The local tourist office will be able to help you find a tour provider.
The surrounding area is truly beautiful, and there is no better way to explore it than on foot or bicycle. There are lots of walking and cycling routes for all abilities. These can traverse the rocky mountainous terrain before passing through the cool and fresh pine forests. Again, the local tourist office will be able to help organise a guide or direct you to a bike shop to pick up some rentals.

The second living room is a great feature, located upstairs in the loft, it is a private spot for the children to play in safely and relax on one of the very comfy sofas away from parents! The private pool never ceases to keep the kids happy, be it water games, water fights or some gentle swimming, it offers something for the whole family to enjoy. The hot tub will be a popular treat for teenagers, giving them a moment away from their phones to detox and relax! The summer kitchen is perfectly designed for big family barbecues, so you can enjoy a wonderful evening around the table with those you care about most.
Take the kids to Pula to awe at the incredible ancient ruins throughout the city, enjoying the lively streets and variety of street performers. From here, you can arrange lots of different water sport activities that older children will enjoy, slow boat cruises or high-octane water skiing - there is truly something for everyone!
A trip to the beach is a must, you can pack a picnic or enjoy one of the local tavernas as you head to Fanaza for a day on the sand. The calm waters are shallow and perfectly suited to children of all ages, there are also sure to be other families the children may enjoy playing with. With ice cream parlours along the beach, it is a sure way to put a smile on the kids face after a busy day of playing on the beach!
One of the most popular day trips for families is a trip to Aquapark Istralandia. This great water park has plenty to occupy the family, with several chutes, pools and water rides its perfect for a hot day in Croatia. There are plenty of facilities at the park so no need for a picnic, just plenty of sun cream!
