Overview

Pool Modern Beach Nearby Ideal for Kids

Villa Benedeka is a crisp and contemporary home executed with flawless indoor and outdoor living spaces on the northwest coast of the beautiful Croatian island of Krk, in the Kvarner Bay. Nestled in a quiet hamlet, it is few minutes drive from the charming and historic harbour town of Malinska, and an array of pretty, pebble beaches are on offer just a couple of kilometres away.

This vibrant and light-filled home stands within its own grounds, complete with outdoor dining spaces, a private pool, along with extra decadent touches such as jacuzzi and sauna, for a little indulgence when away. The outdoor spaces are impeccably maintained, offering pristine green lawns framed with foliage and Mediterranean plant life, a sleek pool-side deck, dining terraces and balcony with views. Wandering outside for morning coffee, or an evening drink at sunset hour will be effortless. The semi-rural spot means guests can enjoy a sense of seclusion and tranquillity, away from the bustle of modern life as well as being just a short drive to local amenities.

The pool is adorned with chic loungers, while flowering greenery creates the sense of a fresh oasis; elegant parasols lend a refined note for outdoor meals or barbecues under the balmy night skies. Slipping into the bubbling jacuzzi will add a rock-and-roll touch to the holiday vibe. Unwinding in the sauna will hit the right note for those suffering from sore limbs or urban ennui - a truly restorative experience in the Finnish style.

Four bedrooms can accommodate 8 guests, with the option for two additional guests making use of the double sofa bed in the living room. This light-filled home is brimming with unique charm, whilst offering every contemporary comfort for its guests, from flat-screen television to wi-fi, air-conditioning, pool table and games area.

The interiors at Villa Benedeka are finished with understated charisma and designer flair, offering a flavour of Scandi design, natural timber and earthy muted colours along with exposed raw materials. Minimalist, yet home-like, it hits the right note between being cosy and livable whilst demonstrating bold designer touches and unique styling. Open-plan living is executed with panache - this well-lit space provides all the potential for lively group time, relaxed meals and sofa time when it comes to those downtime moments. The glossy kitchen is both ultra-modern yet without that sterile flavour - offset with accents of vivid colour, cobalt blues and teals, with soft fabrics throughout this open-plan space, with low-hanging Swedish style lights, guests will enjoy a thoughtfully presented living space.

In the same vein, the bedrooms are fresh and neutral, along with zingy pops of vivid colour, crimsons and aqua blues, avante-garde lighting and airy proportions. Statement-making colour and fabric choices bring a personal note to this home.

Villa Benedeka is a chic abode, both welcoming and home-like as well as being cutting-edge with uniquely innovative designer touches, close to the beautiful northwest coastline of Krk island - a memory-making gem in the Adriatic.

Villa Benedeka is located on the northwest coast of the Croatian island of Krk, the largest island in the Adriatic, a short drive to Malinska and the beach. Ljutići is a hamlet 2.5km from the centre of Malinska, an 18th-century port town. Malinska has a pretty harbour and historic centre and is within easy distance to the other towns on the island, named after a 15th-century mill, it was formerly the most important port of the island. From water sports to boat trips to the neighbouring islands, to hiking and biking, Krk hits the right spot between being developed for visitor activities and offering tranquil, local life.

There is an array of pebble beaches in and around Malinska, including Draga beach, Porat beach and Rupa beach. The island of Krk is the largest island in Croatia and was formerly popular with the Austrian-Hungarian aristocracy. Located in the Kvarner Bay, just 30km from the city of Rijeka, and is known unofficially as the “golden island” for its sunny climate. Small enough to reach both ends within half an hour’s drive, yet large enough to offer varied landscapes along with thousand-year-old monuments, romantic cliffside walks and wild shepherd’s rocky paths, Krk is an ideal holiday base.

Krk Town has a delightful medieval walled centre and the countryside around it is dotted with atmospheric villages. Malinska is brimming with historical sites: the tower of the ruined St. Apolinara church (built in 1618), the ruins of the Benedictine church and convent from the 11th and 12th century. In the nearby Porat, history enthusiasts will enjoy the church of St. Mary Magdalene; a Franciscan convent dating back to 1500, built in gothic renaissance style and revived with baroque architecture.

Region

Krk, the largest island in the Kvarner Gulf, offers visitors an enchanting blend of natural beauty and vibrant culture. This island paradise, with its captivating landscapes, historic towns, and warm Mediterranean climate, has rightly earned its reputation as one of Croatia's top tourist destinations.

Krk's rugged and diverse geography is a significant part of its appeal. The island boasts a picturesque coastline with countless coves, bays, and pristine beaches to explore. For those looking to relax and unwind, Krk’s beautiful, serene beaches Baska Beach and Malinska Beach are perfect spots to unwind. The calm, crystal-clear waters and warm sun provide an ideal setting for a peaceful day by the sea.

The Adriatic Sea provides the perfect playground for water sports enthusiasts - kayaking, windsurfing and jet-skiing are all popular activities around the island. The crystal-clear waters are also perfect for snorkelling and diving. Many tour operators on the island offer family-friendly excursions where you can explore the underwater world and observe marine life together. Krk also has several marinas, making it a popular stop for sailors and boaters exploring the Adriatic.

Krk’s landscape also includes lush greenery and rolling hills, ideal for hiking and cycling. Numerous bike paths and trails wind through the miles of untouched nature. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or a novice, you can explore the island at your own pace or join one of the many bike tours on offer, enjoying the fresh air and breathtaking scenery. The serene countryside offers splendid vistas, and the scents of Mediterranean herbs like rosemary and lavender fill the air.

The city of Krk, the island's main hub, is a charming blend of history and modernity. The well-preserved ancient city walls and medieval architecture are a testament to its storied past. One of the most iconic landmarks is the Frankopan Castle, a magnificent fortress that dates back to the 12th century. The island also boasts numerous churches and chapels, including the Cathedral of St. Mary, which features Romanesque and Gothic elements, and the small church of St. Donatus, one of the oldest on the island.

Krk's culinary scene is a rooted in the Croatian lifestyle, emphasising locally sourced ingredients and flavours. The island's cuisine is known for its use of olive oil, fresh seafood, and an array of herbs. In the picturesque towns and villages, you'll find cozy family-run restaurants and taverns offering hearty traditional dishes like "šurlice," a homemade pasta, and "pašticada," a slow-cooked beef stew. The island is also renowned for its sheep cheese, such as “šur", and the exceptional local wine "Žlahtina," which pairs perfectly with the island’s fresh seafood. Dining in a konoba, a traditional Croatian tavern, allows you to savour the essence of Krk's cuisine while enjoying the warm hospitality of the locals.

While Krk itself has so much to offer, it also serves as a gateway to explore the wider Kvarner region and the nearby islands. A short ferry ride connects Krk to Cres, Rab, and other smaller islands, each with their own unique charm and attractions. The proximity to the mainland makes it easy to embark on day trips to cities like Rijeka and Opatija, famous for their historic architecture and buzzing cultural scenes.

Krk offers a diverse range of experiences for travellers seeking natural beauty, history, culture, and delicious cuisine. With its rich history, warm hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes, Krk has rightfully earned its place as one of Croatia's top tourist destinations. Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or a cultural experience, this “Golden Island” island has it all.
