Overview
For those seeking privacy and seclusion, surrounded by the beauty of nature, then Villa Adalyn is the holiday home for you. Villa Adalyn is perfectly positioned in an unspoilt village in the heart of the countryside, just seven kilometres from the picturesque resort town of Omis, on the Croatian coast of the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea. Sitting at the foothills of Mosor Mountain, this brand-new, one-storey, detached villa has three double bedrooms. It can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, ideal for a family vacation or a friend’s get-together.
The property stands in its own seven hundred and sixty-five square metres of fenced-in land, populated with local shrubs, lush green lawns, and a centrepiece private swimming pool. The villa comes with all the mod cons, including complimentary air-conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout, flat-screen televisions in the living area and all the bedrooms, and parking for up to three cars. The interiors are cool and contemporary, floor-to-ceiling sliding doors let in lots of light and open onto the pool terrace. The furnishings are modern, the lighting and art adorning the walls is fun and funky, and the colour scheme is a sophisticated palette of crisp, clean white with contrasting shades of subtle greys.
The impressive one hundred and seventeen square metres of living space is cleverly arranged over one floor. The open-plan living area has picture windows that slide open onto the pool terrace and slick parquet flooring. A large comfy, royal blue L-shaped sofa can be converted into a double bed, a glass coffee table, and a flat-screen satellite television, preloaded with Netflix. The adjacent dining set is perfect for indoor entertaining. The natural wood and stainless steel kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances you will need to cater for your holiday, including that must-have Dolce Gusto morning coffee maker. There is a useful kitchen island with bar stools, ideal for breakfast. A separate laundry room has a washer and a dryer for your holiday wash. The master bedroom has a king-size double bed, a flat-screen TV, an ensuite shower room, and access to the pool terrace, perfect to roll out of bed for a morning swim. The other two double bedrooms have queen size beds, flat-screen TVs, and dressing table desks. There is a stylish shared bathroom with a walk-in glass-fronted shower, hand basin, and WC. Access the tiled terrace through the sitting room sliding doors, where you will find a step-entry swimming pool surrounded by cushioned, classic wooden sun loungers and shady brollies. Lay on the lawn and catch some of those summer rays. A patio seating set and a traditional bench are just the spots for enjoying a cocktail at sundown. Sit at the six-seater dining set, feast alfresco with dishes freshly cooked on the portable barbecue, and enjoy supper under the stars.

Region
The Dalmatian coast is a veritable treasure trove of stunning landscapes and historic towns, and Omis, situated halfway between the famous port city of Split and the energetic town of Maksarka, is no exception. With its rich history, scenic backdrop, and a plethora of attractions, Omis stands out as a unique and captivating destination for those seeking to explore the charm of Croatia. The town's history is deeply intertwined with its dramatic geographical setting, which is dominated by the imposing Cetina River Canyon and the Mosor Mountain Range.
The old town of Omis, with its narrow cobblestone streets and stone houses, is a place where history and culture converge. It’s a charming place to explore on foot and soak up the local way of life. There are a number of historic churches that you’ll come across while exploring - the Church of St. Michael, the Church of St. Peter, and the Church of St. Rocco, which all showcase intricate architectural details and a sense of reverence. The old town is also home to an abundance of restaurants, cafes, and local shops, it’s an excellent spot to savour authentic Croatian dishes and find unique souvenirs.
One of the most prominent historical attractions in the town is the Mirabella Fortress, often called Peovica. Perched high on a rocky outcrop, this fortress was built during the 13th century and was used as a hideout by the notorious Omis pirates who terrorised the Adriatic Sea. Today, visitors can climb up the steep path to the fortress and enjoy panoramic views of the town, the coast, and the surrounding landscapes.
Omis boasts a pristine stretch of coastline with a variety of beaches, each catering to different tastes. One of the most popular is the sandy beach at the mouth of the Cetina River, offering calm waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Adventurous spirits may prefer the pebbly beach of Brzet, known for its perfect conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Just a short drive from Omis, there's the small village of Stanici, which is renowned for its unspoiled beaches and crystal-clear waters. It's a serene place to relax and escape the crowds often found in more touristy locations.
The Cetina River is a defining feature of Omis, and one of the most exhilarating activities here is to take a rafting excursion along its emerald waters. The river cuts through the impressive Cetina Canyon, creating a thrilling white-water rafting experience that appeals to adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. The journey offers panoramic views of the rugged cliffs, lush forests, and the charming villages that dot the landscape.
The nearby Biokovo Nature Park is an outstanding natural attraction. The Biokovo Mountain Range, part of the Dinaric Alps, offers incredible hiking opportunities, with well-marked trails leading to panoramic viewpoints where you can marvel at the Adriatic Sea and the islands scattered along the coast. The juxtaposition of the rugged mountain terrain and the azure waters is simply stunning and will leave a lasting impression.
The history, natural beauty, and cultural vitality of Omis combine to create a destination that is rich in character and charm. Whether you're seeking adventure on the Cetina River, exploring the medieval fortresses, or simply savouring the local cuisine, Omis has something to offer every traveller who ventures to this utterly enchanting corner of the Dalmatian coast.

There’s lots to do to keep them active, from the tennis courts in town and horse riding across the sands and along the ancient Roman roads, to walking trails and mountaineering. For your older kids, an adrenalin-rush water-rafting or kayaking on the River Cetina, quad biking over mountain ranges, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) may be just their thing. Let them try something new with a high-performance Sea Bob, or take a course and learn to scuba dive. All the family will love the view over the Cetina River and canyon from the skywalk glass-fronted platform, where you can see the area’s natural beauty in all its glory. A Jeep Safari over the local terrain to discover the local flora and fauna and traditional villages is a great family day out.
All aboard for a super day at sea, charter your own yacht, or join a tour, swim and snorkel to hidden caves and the famous blue lagoon, and visit the five adjacent islands. Hop on the boat transfer from Split to Bol on Brac, and spend the day on the fabulous Golden Horn beach. Take a day trip to the natural landscape of Krka National Park, and walk around lakes, rivers, boardwalks, and trails, until you get to the impressive travertine waterfalls. Further afield is the National Park Plitvicka, an area of almost 300 km2 of exceptional beauty, attracting nature lovers worldwide.
A day trip to Split is a must. They’ll love wandering around the Palace of Diocletian, discovering ancient ruins and fortifications, before enjoying a family-friendly meal in a local taverna.
