Location
About the surrounding area of Villa CetinaDue to its peaceful, rural setting, Villa Cetina is a tranquil holiday escape. The village of Kučići is small but does have a handful of amenities. These include a supermarket and a couple of restaurants within a 10-minute drive. A greater choice of facilities can be found in several towns along the coast.
Coastal villages such as Marušići and Mimice are charming places to both stock up on groceries and enjoy days out. Both are just under a 30-minute drive away from the villa and have lovely beaches to relax on.
Mimice has a pebbly stretch lapped by shallow waters, which is typical of beaches along this coast. There’s also a promenade full of restaurants and cafés. Marušići offers very similar features and facilities, giving you plenty of coastal spots to choose from!
The port town of Omiš is 25 minutes away by car and is where you find a slightly livelier atmosphere. Known for being home to pirates in the 13th and 14th centuries, the town is now perfectly safe from pirate attacks!
Which is great, because there’s a lot to see and do in historical Omiš. A must-visit area is an old town with its ancient churches and the beautiful St Michael’s Square. Also be sure to climb up the hill to 13th-century Mirabella Fortress for some stunning sea and town views.
Around 40-minute drive south is Makarska, another historic port town. Its long promenade is lined with restaurants and bars, which mainly comes alive during the evenings.

Region
The Dalmatian coast is a veritable treasure trove of stunning landscapes and historic towns, and Omis, situated halfway between the famous port city of Split and the energetic town of Maksarka, is no exception. With its rich history, scenic backdrop, and a plethora of attractions, Omis stands out as a unique and captivating destination for those seeking to explore the charm of Croatia. The town's history is deeply intertwined with its dramatic geographical setting, which is dominated by the imposing Cetina River Canyon and the Mosor Mountain Range.
The old town of Omis, with its narrow cobblestone streets and stone houses, is a place where history and culture converge. It’s a charming place to explore on foot and soak up the local way of life. There are a number of historic churches that you’ll come across while exploring - the Church of St. Michael, the Church of St. Peter, and the Church of St. Rocco, which all showcase intricate architectural details and a sense of reverence. The old town is also home to an abundance of restaurants, cafes, and local shops, it’s an excellent spot to savour authentic Croatian dishes and find unique souvenirs.
One of the most prominent historical attractions in the town is the Mirabella Fortress, often called Peovica. Perched high on a rocky outcrop, this fortress was built during the 13th century and was used as a hideout by the notorious Omis pirates who terrorised the Adriatic Sea. Today, visitors can climb up the steep path to the fortress and enjoy panoramic views of the town, the coast, and the surrounding landscapes.
Omis boasts a pristine stretch of coastline with a variety of beaches, each catering to different tastes. One of the most popular is the sandy beach at the mouth of the Cetina River, offering calm waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Adventurous spirits may prefer the pebbly beach of Brzet, known for its perfect conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Just a short drive from Omis, there's the small village of Stanici, which is renowned for its unspoiled beaches and crystal-clear waters. It's a serene place to relax and escape the crowds often found in more touristy locations.
The Cetina River is a defining feature of Omis, and one of the most exhilarating activities here is to take a rafting excursion along its emerald waters. The river cuts through the impressive Cetina Canyon, creating a thrilling white-water rafting experience that appeals to adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. The journey offers panoramic views of the rugged cliffs, lush forests, and the charming villages that dot the landscape.
The nearby Biokovo Nature Park is an outstanding natural attraction. The Biokovo Mountain Range, part of the Dinaric Alps, offers incredible hiking opportunities, with well-marked trails leading to panoramic viewpoints where you can marvel at the Adriatic Sea and the islands scattered along the coast. The juxtaposition of the rugged mountain terrain and the azure waters is simply stunning and will leave a lasting impression.
The history, natural beauty, and cultural vitality of Omis combine to create a destination that is rich in character and charm. Whether you're seeking adventure on the Cetina River, exploring the medieval fortresses, or simply savouring the local cuisine, Omis has something to offer every traveller who ventures to this utterly enchanting corner of the Dalmatian coast.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Cetina is both a comfortable and fun base for your family holiday. Children of all ages will find something to keep them entertained and active here.
Older children will enjoy the games room with table tennis table and dartboard in particular, while the play area will be a hit with the little ones. They’ll all love swimming and splashing about in the large, heated pool.
Just 20 minutes away is the town of Omiš with its vast range of outdoor activities. One of the most exciting is ziplining, which adults and children over the age of nine can have a go at.
There are varying lengths of zip lines to try, and all are positioned high above a stunning canyon. The whole experience lasts around three hours, which includes training also.

Perfect
Beautiful villa with everything you need only on day two but settling in perfectly.

Highly recommend this beautiful house.
We, two couples from Germany, had a great holiday in October 2018 in this beautiful holiday home.
The house offers all the luxury to enjoy your holiday even on a rainy day.
Beside the nice pool and the summer kitchen the house offers a sauna to relax, fitness equipment, table tennis or darts to do sports and even a Playstation 4. Each of the 4 comfortable bedrooms has its own bathroom with shower and/or bathtub.
The kitchen is perfectly equipped and leaves nothing to be desired.
The owners of the house, are super nice and helpful. One night they even prepared a traditional Croatian meal for us.
You have many different options to spend your holidays in that region (e.g. nice beach in Brela, zip lining, rafting, sightseeing in Trogir etc.)
There was not a single thing to complain about. -

The perfect house
We were in July with 2 families (4 adults, 4 children) in this house. I'm not the type of superlatives, but when booking this holiday home, we did everything right. Great quality, very tastefully furnished and equipped to the last detail (for example, Tupper for leftovers). A private bathroom to each bedroom makes life easier. 3 large tables with at least 8 people to eat together (inside, outside, summer kitchen) I have never seen. You could list 1,000 more details here, but that goes too far. The landlord family is very very nice, helpful and accommodating. House is 100% recommended without restriction. Short to the surrounding. A small supermarket is within walking distance. The river Cetina offers many opportunities for rafting, canyoning, zipline, kayaking. Excursions Split about 1 hour, island Brace (dream beach "Golden Horn") by boat, Trogir about 1.5 hours or Dubrovnik about 3 hours (attention border crossing to BIH. Do not forget your passport). Distances by car. If you want to enjoy the holiday from the first moment, then this is the right holiday home.
