Location
About the surrounding area of Villa TihanaVilla Tihana is located in the western part of Istria, just ten kilometres from Pula. This naturally beautiful area is perfect as a travel destination with its Adriatic coastline and reliably warm temperatures. It is these which make it ideal for olive oil production, with the olive oil of Tar-Vabriga considered by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation to be the best in Europe. Villa Tihana is about two kilometres from the nearest beach and is within easy distance to various restaurants and shops.
Around ten kilometres south lies the town of Poreč, which attracts many visitors to its Roman Old Town. You’ll find the remains of temples and fortification walls, and – most significantly – the Episcopal complex of Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Poreč is also known as a great cycling destination, and its central location makes it a good base for further exploration of the region. Rovinj lies around forty kilometres to the south, and it’s not much more than an hour from Italy, with a beautiful slice of Slovenia even closer.

Stunning interiors
This villa is for those with discerning taste and an appreciation for interior design. The outside area is also perfect for larger groups. The kitchen is small but is able to cope with 14 people (although not everyone can be a cook). Close to a supermarket with a sweet restaurant in the village its good as a centre to explore. The sea is less than 10 minutes away by bike or car. There is a very popular and lively 'Centre Parc's very close by which if you have children and teenagers is a plus. The owners were very kind and gracious making my niece's birthday by organising a birthday cake and delivering (no mean feat as it was a 40-minute drive to the best bakery in the area). We enjoyed an afternoon in the nearby go-karting / tree top experience, hired a boat for the day and had fun celebrating local fetes during the month of August.
