Region
Pula, located on the southern tip of Croatia's Istrian Peninsula, is a city with a rich history, stunning natural beauty, and a vibrant cultural scene. Exploring the city's old town, you'll find charming narrow streets, historic buildings, and picturesque squares. A stroll through the heart of the city allows visitors to immerse themselves in its unique blend of architectural styles, from Baroque palaces to Venetian facades.
Pula is a city steeped in history, with its roots dating back to Roman times. The most iconic symbol of the city is the Pula Arena, a remarkably well-preserved Roman amphitheater. Built during the 1st century AD, it is one of the six largest surviving Roman arenas in the world and one of Croatia’s most famous sights. Visitors can explore the galleries, stand on the arena floor, and even attend various events, including concerts and festivals held within its ancient walls.
The Istrian Peninsula is known for its stunning coastline, and Pula boasts numerous pristine beaches and coves. One of the most popular spots is Kamenjak, a protected natural park featuring rugged cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and diverse marine life. Nature enthusiasts can hike or cycle through the park's trails and enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Adriatic Sea. The coastal location is also ideal for water-based activities. Scuba diving enthusiasts can explore underwater caves and shipwrecks, while sailing and windsurfing are popular options for those seeking an adrenaline rush.
Just a short drive from Pula, the seaside town of Medulin offers a lovely promenade along the coast. You can take a leisurely walk, rent bicycles, or enjoy an ice cream by the sea. The shallow waters here make it a great spot for kids to play and swim.
For more family-friendly beaches, Verudela, Valkane, and Ambrela are all excellent options, offering playground facilities and water sports for older kids. Verudula beach is the home of Pula Aquarium which features a variety of Adriatic Sea creatures, including fish, seahorses, and various sea plants. The aquarium also has a touch tank, where children can get hands-on with the marine life!
Just a short boat ride from Pula is a collection of islands that make up Brijuni National Park. The park offers a unique combination of untouched nature, diverse flora and fauna, and historical sites. Visitors can explore the enchanting landscapes, visit the safari park, and explore the ruins of Roman villas and ancient churches. The park has golf carts available for touring, making it easily accessible for families with young children.
No visit to Pula is complete without indulging in the flavours of Istrian cuisine. The region is renowned for its truffles, olive oil, and world-class wines. Local restaurants offer a wide array of dishes that incorporate these prized ingredients. Be sure to try traditional Istrian dishes such as fuži (pasta) with truffles, maneštra (a hearty bean soup), and fresh seafood prepared in various ways.
Istria is also famous for its winemaking, and Pula is an excellent starting point for exploring local vineyards. Istrian wines, particularly Malvazija and Teran, are known for their unique character and are often paired with Istrian delicacies, creating a delightful culinary experience.
Whether you're exploring the ancient Roman heritage, relaxing on pristine beaches, or indulging in Istrian cuisine, Pula offers a unique and unforgettable Croatian adventure.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Cintra is an outstanding family holiday home, which will guarantee you and the kids more than enough spaces and features to unwind. Presenting chic and homely settings throughout, kids can enjoy surfing devices in bedrooms, living areas and outside, courtesy of free wi-fi provision. Settle down on sofas and watch movies on the satellite television or challenge one another to foosball indoors. Adults and older teens can enjoy revitalisation in the villa's sauna whilst kids and adults bounce on trampolines! Outdoors, the whole family can host a table-tennis tournament and the smallest tots will enjoy the swings, slides and sets featured in the garden. Soft grass means most areas are safe to run and frolic on and by the patio, kids can plug into music and zone out in the sun or splash in the pool, with whirlpool features, whenever they like!
Dining tables for all six family members and kitchens sit both inside and out so you can enjoy food intimately or under the sun! The villa provides a high-chair too, should the tots accompany the journey. Three bedrooms across the two floors are beautifully dressed and make for wonderful quarters to snooze in and families with babies can also request the use of a cot!
Bijeca Beach is your number one spot for a family-friendly seaside and you won't be disappointed upon your arrival. Soft, golden sands allow children to play under the watchful eye of adults and lifeguards, so you have double the amount of security. Adults can remain vigilant yet care-free on hired sun-loungers and parasols or the comfort of the sand. The water is shallow and gentle for many metres out so everyone can have a splash in its clear, blue waters. Wash off and change in toilets and bathrooms on the beach before heading to a restaurant nearby for native foods or more familiar flavours in restaurants serving international dishes.
For fun and excitement, the beach offers numerous ways to explore the calm sea, so grab snorkel gear or get yourself on a canoe or kayak and have an independent voyage. For older children and adventurous adults, try to hang on as you jet or water-ski, whip up the waves on boat-towed inflatable rafts and much, much more! Next door lies an Aqua-Park, where you can boing and bounce on inflatable attractions on the sea!

Wonderful vacation
It was a very nice, relaxing and comfortable vacation. Would repeat and recommend at any time. The landlords were also very accommodating.

Beautiful
The accommodation is beautiful. With four adults we had more than enough space. Without problems can accommodate 6 people. The house is very well equipped and very clean. In the outdoor area, the builders have given a lot of thought (everything very well thought out, so you can have a nice day even in the rain). Really everything top!!! We have visited many beaches, but the most beautiful and quiet is about 3 km from the house in the village. Recommendation!!!
