Perched on a soft, green rise in the picturesque Istrian town of Bale (Valle in Italian, the town is officially bilingual), Villa Elysian is a spectacular 6-bedroom retreat surrounded by lush landscapes, offering an idyllic haven for up to 12 guests seeking a perfect blend of comfort and serenity.
Stepping into the villa, guests are greeted by the sleek embrace of a modern, expansive, open-plan living and dining area, bathed in natural light streaming through large windows and warmed by a fireplace. Plush furnishings invite you to unwind and enjoy moments of conviviality, while the dining table, positioned near the fully equipped kitchen, sets the stage for delightful feasts prepared with local ingredients.
The open-plan kitchen, with its range of state-of-the-art appliances and ample counter space, is a treat for culinary enthusiasts, whether you’re tossing together a Mediterranean salad or preparing a holiday feast for family and friends.
Ascending the stairs reveals the swathe of stylish and restful sleeping quarters. Each of the six bedrooms boasts a queen-sized bed, an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and a dedicated workstation. Two of these rooms boast access to a furnished and sun-drenched patio, while others offer panoramic views across the stunning Istrian countryside.
There is no shortage of entertainment options in a house rich with creature comforts. A private games room features its own kitchenette, billiards table, table football, and a TV with a game console. But that’s only the beginning. Villa Elysian also boasts an elegant sauna and indoor plunge pool complete with sun loungers.
Or, if guests are inclined to a more refreshing outdoor swim after sweating their stress in the sauna, the villa’s outdoor spaces contain a stunning turquoise swimming pool and garden. The expansive terrace includes alfresco dining spaces, a BBQ grill, shade and a selection of terrace furniture.

About the surrounding area of Villa ElysianWell-situated in the charming village of Bale, Villa Elysian is a genuinely enchanting escape surrounded by the timeless beauty of the Istrian countryside. Bale itself is a village of quaint, cobblestoned streets, boutique shops, a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, and even its own castle – the Soardo-Bembo Castle, built in the 16th century.
Bale is renowned for its olive oil and wine and offers excellent opportunities to sample the local produce. Pop into Bembo for a taste of their award-winning oils. Numerous wineries are close at hand, including Meneghetti Winery (18-minute drive) and San Tommaso Winery (8-minute drive).
Croatia’s Adriatic coastline is deceptively close (20-minute drive), making day trips to “blue Istria” an easy task. The coastline brims with colourful seaside villages and picturesque beaches. The stunning port city of Rovinj (a 20-minute drive) is also easily reachable, providing an unbeatable opportunity to explore this Italianate town with its famous St Euphemia Cathedral. Take a stroll through the stunning Old Town, where there is a bevvy of charming restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Monte.

The Medieval Theme Park Sanc Michael (17-minute drive) is a fantastic adventure sure to inspire children’s minds. Built entirely out of wood by diligent local workmen, this castle offers a kids’ carousel, a huge catapult, medieval crafts, archery, gift shops and more attractions.
The caves of Festinsko Kraljevstvo (27-minute drive) are an underground realm of wonders suitable for families with children.
Glavani Park (a 25-minute drive) is an adventure park with an array of zip lines, climbing walls, human catapults, giant swings and high-ropes courses of varying difficulties.
The picturesque Cisterna Beach (a 20-minute drive) is well within range for a day trip to swim and play in the calmly lapping waves.
For another full day of water-based fun, there’s Aquapark Aquacolours (33-minute drive), a large amusement park near the town of Poreč considered to be one of the largest in southeast Europe, and features water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and kid’s corner.
