Overview
The beautifully remodelled Villa Luba lies just 5km from the centre of Split in the town of Solin. This magnificent location provides mountainous backdrops, with the house positioned over the River Jadro which you can view from the garden.
Villa Luba is set in spacious grounds with a large, heated swimming pool surrounded by a terrace with sun loungers. You can also enjoy dinner and drinks on the covered area of the terrace, as the river flows close by. Another dining space can be found on the roof of the property, offering a superb view of the mountains.
Inside, the house is impressively styled, with rustic stone-built walls adding plenty of farmhouse-like character. An elegant, chandelier-lit dining area with high-back chairs makes for an eye-catching centrepiece, while the adjacent lounge space offers comfortable seating, a music system and TV. The kitchen is ideal as a hangout as well as for cooking – there’s bar-style seating at the island, and some enviably sleek appliances, including a dishwasher, glass-fronted fridge and coffee machine.
The immaculate décor continues upstairs with three bedrooms featuring super king-size beds. A gorgeous master suite leads out to a private terrace with seating, and has its own lounge space inside, as well as an en suite bathroom. The other two bedrooms and spacious and equally attractive, bringing the total capacity of the house to eight with the addition of a child’s bed and sofa-bed as required.
Pretty Solin is a town of visible history – as the site of the ancient city of Salona, its Roman ruins are impressively well preserved. Salona was the birthplace of Emperor Diocletian, with nearby Split the home to the majestic Diocletian’s Palace, perhaps the region’s biggest tourist attraction.
Solin itself is blessed with plenty of excellent restaurants and hosts regular cultural events – there’s a wide-ranging programme of entertainment during the Solin Cultural Summer, taking place annually between June and September.

About the surrounding area of Villa LubaA jewel of the Adriatic Coast, few cities rival Split when it comes to historic landmarks. With Diocletian’s Palace, Saint Domnius’ Cathedral and noteworthy buildings in abundance, you will have a lot to pack in.
Culturally, Split is more than a match for many European capitals. You can visit The Split Gallery of Fine Arts, the Archaeological Museum and discover the work of the country’s greatest sculptor at the Mestrovic Gallery. Other museums such as the Museum of the Senses offer an interactive experience which makes them popular with families.
A large area of fragrant pine forests and botanical gardens, Marjan Forest Park stretches as far as the ocean to the west of the city. The Roman ruins of Diocletian’s Palace are Split’s big tourist attraction, with guided walking tours of this and other city landmarks a great way to immerse yourself in Split’s history. Look out too for regular cultural events at Republic Square, and for Split’s main beach, Bacvice, where those standing in the sea may be playing the famous local ball game of Picigin.
The Dalmatian Coast is dotted with lovely beaches, and pretty coastal stops like Stobreč, Jesenice and Podstrana are within a 30-minute drive of Split. The wooden ships at Jesenice can take you on picturesque journeys along the coast or out to nearby islands like Brač.
About 25km from Split, Omiš, is the region’s adrenaline sports capital offering a spectacular zip-wire adventure across the River Cetina. Closer yet are the Roman ruins of Solin, formerly site of the capital of Dalmatia, and the mountain-top fortress at Klis.

As well as great facilities like TV, a music system and Wi-Fi, this villa provides a large swimming pool and room to chill on a sun lounger or hammock.
The local area is picturesque and lends itself to walking, cycling or hiking – there are various recommended routes you can check out in advance, and you may pass by Klis Fortress, a local landmark made famous by Game of Thrones. The town’s real history is compelling too, with the Roman ruins of what was once Salona a must-see.
In the nearby city of Split, you really will be spoilt for choice. Attractions like the aquarium and the semi-submarine are a good bet for younger children, and beaches like Znjan are well equipped for outdoor play with bouncy castles and the like. Walks in Marjan Forest Park, a frog museum and a waterfront packed with cool cafés are among the many reasons this glamorous city shouldn’t be missed.
