Location
About the surrounding area of Villa ValoviVilla Valovi is located roughly halfway between Trogir and Split in the charming village of Kastela Kambelovac. The village is one of seven castle settlements built in the 15th and 16th centuries, protecting a 20km stretch of stunning Dalmation coastline. Aside from Kambelovac, the other castles are Sucurac, Gomilica, Luksic, Stari, Novi and Stafilic. Kastel Gomilica is a popular attraction as it was used as a filming location for Game of Thrones. The Salona ruins are approximately 11km from the villa, and a marked mountain path leads from Kastel Stari to the Malacka saddle, where you can hike through Kozjak and the natural Kastela Hinterland. The lookout gives a magnificent view of the bay, Split, Marjan, Trogir and the central Dalmatian islands. The Kastela Riviera is popular with cultural travellers, a perfect spot for ocean-side walks with views of Ciova and Split and offers a splendid variety of cafes, restaurants, shops and daily markets.
Split is a captivating city, a seafront gem combining honeycombs of unique, historic buildings, in particular the Diocletian’s Palace, with a cosmopolitan, palm-lined promenade brimming with trendy eateries. The atmospheric, narrow streets are full of majestic monuments, cosy restaurants, cafes, bars and unique shops. Split’s main city beach, Bacvice, becomes a popular night-time jaunt in the evening. You can take boat trips to the stunning islands of Hvar, Vis and Brac. Hvar is glitzy and the chosen destination of the chic and rich, with phenomenal hotels and a marina full of luxury yachts. Brac boasts the famous Zlatni Rat Beach at Bol, which adorns most Croatia holiday posters. Vis, the furthest away, is a gorgeous, remote, craggy island with a laid-back rural vibe.
Trogir is a magnificent walled city. Its amazing historical buildings include the Cipiko Palaces and the astonishing St. Lawrence Cathedral. Everyone leaves the knotted, maze-like, marble streets on summer nights and gravitates to the promenade sprinkled with cafes, bars, restaurants and luxury yachts.
Omis is very popular. It is known as the Pirate City and is situated at the mouth of the Cetina River. Omis is home to many churches, and old Franciscan monastery and the Fortress Starigrad. The Klapa Festival in summer is fun with capella singing in churches and squares in the old town. Other popular day trips are to the Cetina River, about 40 minutes away for some thrilling fun, the magnificent Krka Waterfalls about an hour away and the Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesChildren will love their Dalmatian holiday staying in Villa Valovi. The infinity pool is lovely and the villa is very spacious with plenty of room to play. The villa sits right on the water’s edge with steps down to the sea. You need to watch young children, checking that they do not try to head off on their own but the seafront location is amazing.
Children adore visits to the breathtaking Cetina River. The Cetina River is action-packed with an awesome zipline, canyoning, river tubing, rafting, canoeing and paragliding. The river’s source is the Dinara mountains and it ends at Omis. River tubing is such great fun. You sit in giant inflatable donuts and descend down the small river rapids just north of the village of Kucice. Family adventures rafting the rapids are popular or the bravest buckle up and fly like Batman through the lush forest surrounding the beautiful water and zipline across the river. The minimum age for this incredible experience is seven. Young children will accompanied by a guide in tandem plummets. There are eight wires in total. You can rent see-through kayaks so that when you are paddling down the river you can explore the flora and fauna. The rafting takes place in the northern part of the river where there are exciting rapids and challenging waterfalls to descend. White water rafting takes place in a section of 10km starting north of Kucice. While doing this you will also discover one of the prettiest beaches, Stuzica. The rafting ends in the village of Blato na Cetini where you can have lunch in a restaurant along the bank of the river. Canyoning takes a lot of courage. Expert guides help adventurous guests plunge into newly discovered rocky areas and clear waters, providing the most exhilirating and unforgettable experience. You will swim underneath powerful waterfalls, flow down naturally formed chutes and jump into emerald pools.
There are many lovely beaches in the area to enjoy as a family. There are 6km of sandy beaches around Duce and Omis. Znjan is the newest built beach in Split. There are trampolines, bouncy castles, paddle boats with slides and electric scooters. There is a leisure park at Split’s Bacvice Beach. Picigin is a local game played in the shallow water where participants pass a ball around by hitting it with the palm of their hand without it going into the sea.
In Split you can rent bikes, enjoy the palace in the Old Town and visit Marjan Hill. The park offers promenades, nature paths, vista views, playgrounds, bird and rare plant watching and the tiny Split zoo. There is a little train you can take from the Split National Theatre to visit many of the local attractions. Split’s Magic City is an indoor playroom, maybe ideal if you have a wet day.

Very good
Newly-built beachfront villa by the sea, in an excellent location. The neighbourhood is ideal for a relaxing holiday, with the best sea view! The pool is awesome as well as the dining area with barbecue. Our children enjoyed themselves a lot by the pool. The villa manager organised daily light cleaning at the villa. We could always call him if we needed something.
We would like to come back to Dalmatia again, maybe even to this stunning mansion. -
