We'd recommend getting a morning ferry from the Riva that goes to Drvenik Veli and Mali islands - for the clearest waters you'll ever see, head to Krknjaši Bay, on the east side of Drvenik Veli. Or if sailing the waters isn't your kind of thing, the beaches are equally as splendid - think turquoise waters and pretty shingles.

One sweet treat to try in Trogir is rafioli - a shortbread biscuit with an almond filling, traditionally served at special occassions. You'll find these biscuits all over the town - keep an eye out for different fillings, including chocolate, cream, lemon and vanilla.
A world-renowned dish that orginated from the Dalmatian Coast is black risotto, getting its striking black appearance from squid ink. This delicious dish will be served with fresh cuttlefish caught locally and olive oil produced from olive groves around the region. Yum!

Trogir is very small and can easily be explored by foot. It's by far the best way to explore - wander quaint, cobbled streets and gawp at the historic architecture.
You won't need a car in Trogir itself but you may want to rent one for day trips - however, public transport is regular and easy to use.
Buses run regularly to and from different areas, including Split and Zadar. They're cheap and easy to use, with a bus station in Trogir.
