With glimpses of the ocean from one side of the house and terraces otherwise looking over the gardens and wonderful woodland, this home offers ample space outside to relax in the shade, play with the kids or dip into the inviting swimming pool with its pretty terrace and pool house. Dine al-fresco looking out towards the ocean or find a sheltered spot for a quiet coffee in the tranquillity of the gardens.
Inside, this stylish home offers a spacious living room with vibrant artwork, a cosy fireplace and doors leading to the gardens plus a welcoming kitchen-diner, superbly equipped and leading straight out onto one of the lovely garden terraces. Sleeping up to 14 guests, the seven bedrooms are scattered across various wings of the manoir and with the choice of double or twin beds, including a quad room, there are plenty of options to suit your guests whether family or friends.
Despite this tranquil location, it’s only a few minutes in the car to the brilliant beaches just south of Biarritz such as Plage Milady with its lovely promenade, little playground and nearby museum Cité de l'Océan or even closer La Plage d'Ilbarritz where you can dine in one of the excellent beachside restaurants and keen golfers can catch a round of golf on the nearby golf course.
Just to the south you are also only a 5-minute drive from the traditional Basque village of Bidart, a favourite hangout for surfers alongside nearby Guéthary and a great place for bakeries, shops and well-regarded restaurants. Not to mention more wonderful beaches, some with remote access backed by cliffs such as the stunning Plage des 100 Marches.
The delights of trendy Biarritz are also so near, only ten minutes away, where you can soak up the ambience on La Grande Plage, shop to your hearts delight in the wonderful food market at Les Halles, full of Basque specialities, or dine in one of the fabulous restaurants across this famous town.

Location
About the surrounding area of Manoir LandaisSet in vast grounds where you can catch glimpses of the ocean from your garden, this is a peaceful and secluded setting. Yet you are just a few of minutes’ drive to the traditional Basque village of Bidart and its beaches and less than 7km from the hustle and bustle of Biarritz.
The traditional Basque village of Bidart (3km) has excellent supermarkets, great bakeries and a number of shops and well-regarded restaurants in the town and down the hill near the beach. Bidart itself has six lovely beaches from the friendly-family Central beach to the stunning Plage des 100 Marches where remote access (down 100 steps!) means that this is sometimes less busy than others and very popular with surfers as well as beach lovers.
Further north, Plage Milady (with a promenade, playground and nearby museum Cité de l'Océan) and Plage d'Ilbarritz (with its beachside restaurants and famous golf course) are also popular options within a few minutes and heading further towards Biarritz is Plage de la Cote des Basques, a favourite for surfers from all over the world.
Famous Biarritz, only 7km away, is an elegant seaside resort dating back to the 19th century when aristocracy built their summer residences along this part of the coast, including the well-known Hotel du Palais, built by the wife of Napoleon III on the famous La Grande Plage. Enjoy fresh sea-food in the town’s excellent restaurants, soak up the trendy vibe in cafes and bars and shop to your hearts delight in the Halles de Biarritz, a food marker offering many wonderful Basque specialities.
Other fabulous coastal areas to visit include the picturesque town of Ciboure (15km) to the south where Matisse once lived and the lovely resort of Saint-Jean-de-Luz (14km) with a great sandy beach and plenty of family-friendly activities as well as an abundance of golf courses and lovely walks along the surrounding coastline and hills.

Best Suited For: All AgesThe stretch of coastline around Biarritz, Bidart and Guéthary includes many wonderful beaches suitable for families.
Central beach just moments from the villa has a great kids club in the summer. Parlementia beach in Guéthary is a great spot for building sandcastles whilst La Grande Plage in the heart of Biarritz is a vibrant playground for any youngster.
Other beaches include Plage Milady (with a promenade, playground and nearby museum Cité de l'Océan) and Cotes des Basques, which has also become an essential destination for surfers. This entire area is a mecca for surfers from around the globe, so you’ll never be far from a surf school for beginners of all ages, including children.
When in Biarritz, take the little road-train along the coast for a more leisurely way to see the town’s main beach, whilst if you’re looking to burn off some energy head north to the lighthouse and climb the 200 or so steps to be rewarded with stunning views.
The Basque region’s biggest adventure park is situated 24km from the villa. A great day out, Oihana Adventure Park is suitable for children from 6 years and up, with dynamic treetop courses for older children and paintball.
St Jean de Luz (14km) offers lots of family-friendly activities such as trampoline parks, mini golf and another road train to beautiful sandy beaches featuring playgrounds and games.
Real train lovers should head to the inland village of Sare (20km) to catch the old wooden train up to the summit of La Rhune mountain where you are greeted with spectacular views of the Pyrénées.
