Property Features
Interior
The large, light & airy reception rooms are both charming & relaxing with original wood panelling, ornate plasterwork and the addition of WiFi & satellite TV means you really get the best of both worlds.
You enter the Chateau into a wonderful hall, the centre and hub of the property. There are sweeping stairs to two further floors direct from here. Leading from this hall are doors to the kitchen and playroom and to the front of the chateau the dining room and two reception rooms.
The kitchen is a large room, fully fitted with all the mod cons and table and chairs for informal meals with the family. There is plenty of space to use all the wonderful ingredients that you will find in the local markets and experiment with the local produce.
Opposite the kitchen on the other side of the hall is the playroom. Here your children will be delighted with the huge array of toys for all ages. The children will have their own space to relax and escape the heat of the sun or just to unwind at the end of a busy day with a movie or a quiet game. You too will be able to make the most of this downtime as the playroom has access to the sitting room so you can sit and enjoy some peace of your own whilst the children play happily.
Running along the front of the Chateau with stunning views down the valley to the charming medieval town of Dignac, are the dining room and two reception rooms. The dining room is set up to accommodate 8 adults and is a sumptuous place to spend long evenings around the table with family and friends. Don't forget, if you are here for a special occasion the owners will be more than happy to cater for you as well.
First Floor
Following up the sweeping staircase to the first floor you will find 2 double bedrooms (one ensuite bathroom), a twin (ensuite shower room) and a nursery room with two beds and a cot. There is a further shower room just next to the double and nursery, this also has the laundry facilities for the Chateau. The bedrooms are charmingly decorated with good quality beds and linen and have the same stunning views over the valley. All the bedrooms are large enough for a cot to be added and with the traditional shutters at all the windows small people will not have their sleep disturbed by the morning sun.
On the second floor you will find the third double room, ensuite shower room and landing area set up with comfortable seating for an "escape from it all" space. This is an ideal room for accompanying but agile grandparents or any teens in the party.
Exterior
Set high on a hillside & offering spectacular views, it is possible to walk or cycle directly from the grounds into the local countryside where an abundance of plant & wildlife can be found. If you prefer to relax, the large heated pool with it's tented pavillion or the rear terrace with it's fountain & large pond are delightful places to while away your time.
The Château is surrounded by 2 hectares of parkland, with a further 4 hectares of woodland which allows for the utmost privacy. There is a slide, swings, playhouse and a selection of garden toys available.
At the rear of the property, there is a covered terrace beside a charming raised pond, a gentle spot to enjoy some alfresco dining. There is sufficient seating for the Chateau's occupants around a large wooden table, a BBQ and lighting for dining outside under the stars but it is also not far to walk to the kitchen.
To the front of the Château are the sweeping stone stairs leading down to the to the enclosed pool area on the first terrace. The beautiful 12m heated pool has a pool side gazebo for shade and plenty of sun loungers for the times you want to soak up some sun . For days out there are markets, golf courses, horse riding, swimming, beaches and activity parks all within 20 minutes.
The beautiful ramparted city of Angoulême is just a 30 minute drive away and is a wonderful place to wander and explore. The city itself is the world capital for Bande Dessinée (comic strip), and here you will find many of the buildings decorated with beautiful art work and a fascinating museum dedicated to the art. Alongside this, the city itself has stunning architecture, traditional markets, beautiful gardens, pavement cafes and a variety of restaurants.
Accrobranche in Soyaux, only a 15 minute drive away, is a fantastic place for all ages from 3 years upwards to have fun together, climbing the trees with ropes and harnesses, completing differing levels of difficulty. For the very small there is a traditional playground with swings and slides next to this, or if this is too energetic for you, there is plenty of space to just sit in the shade of the trees with a coffee while the children burn off some energy: www.accroparc-de-soyaux.com
If energy burning is what your small people need then Kizou in Angoulême's mountain shopping zone is just the place for the odd inclement day. An indoor adventure play ground with all the usual ball pools, ropes and soft play: wwww.kizouaventures.fr
If you have teenagers or energetic adults then what could be more fun than a chance to run around paint balling at the biggest venue in the Charente, both indoor and outdoor courses and only 10 minutes from the Château: www.eden-paintball.fr
For those of you for whom a beach and a bucket and spade is a necessity on holiday then the 23Ha Fresh water lake at the Plan d'Eau just outside Anglouleme is a fabulous place for a grand day out. It has lovely sandy beaches and a large range of water sports on offer. Just next to this is Angoulême's water park Nautilis where you will find indoor and outdoor pools, flumes, rapids, wave pool and gentle areas for small people to play: www.nautilis.fr

Just 11km away is Accroparc de Soyaux, an activity centre with tree-top trails (aged 3+), mini-golf, a playground and a laser/escape game. Just north of Angoulême, there is an indoor soft play centre called Toboggan et Cie Angoulême and a bowling centre, both good options in case of rare rainy days.

Excellent facilities
The house and grounds are lovely. Brilliant for kids. Enjoyed walking in the area. Excellent facilities. Pool and playroom were a big hit. Delicious catering. Fantastic service. On hand when needed but not always around, which is great. Really enjoyed it. Thanks.
-
Everything we needed.
Wonderful views. Such a peaceful location + adore the little village. Everything we needed. Would have liked larger bath towels though. Amazing food. Love it. Such a treat. The service was terrific. Thank you so much for looking after us.

Has everything you need.
So much space for everyone. Personally, some softer pillows would have been appreciated. The property has everything you need for a holiday with children, outside and in. Excellent catering and faultless service.

Would come back again!!
Lots of space for 3 generations of family. Kids loved pool house, brilliant, and they loved playing in the grounds. The playroom kept the kids entertained. There were lots of toys and videos. Excellent. Gas BBW was fab. Lovely cooker and dishwasher, tumble dryer made for easy holiday.
The catering was fine, but for 9 more cutlery and plates would save dishwasher being on so much, saving water and electricity.
Takaya and Nick were excellent hosts, great welcome and nice to know they are on hand for any problem.
Would come back again!! -
So much space to run around and explore
Kids really enjoyed the ground and plenty to keep them entertained even when the weather wasn't as nice. So much space to run around and explore. Great pool, very clean. The owners went above and beyond to help us, even offering to give us a lift when needed. Welcoming and friendly reception from Nick and Takayla, really helpful and on hand when needed.

Absolutely brilliant
I’d give Chateau du Mas six stars if I could! The house is lovely, comfortable and welcoming and has all the equipment you could possibly think of - plus a few more bits and pieces which you didn’t, but which are enormously useful. The playroom was a particular hit with our children who barely touched the toys we’d brought with us. The outside spaces - terrace, garden and pool - are amazing for making the most of the summer weather, and Nick and Takayla were incredibly helpful and welcoming. We were a family group ranging from 5 to 80 and everybody had the time of their lives - thank you again!
-
The children enjoyed the outdoor toys
We really loved the outside spaces and swimming pool, and the children enjoyed the outdoor toys. Nothing lacking that we noticed. The catering was really fabulous and the service was faultless, perfect combination: welcome and unobtrusive. Such a perfect location for a multi-generational trip which we'll all remember for years to come. Thank you so much.

Wonderful family holiday
We travelled to Chateau du Mas with my adult family and our 2 children (aged 4 & 1) and had an absolutely incredible time. The Chateau is stunning, the owners friendly and welcoming (without being overbearing) and there was everything we needed for the children to make it a very easy holiday. My little boy regularly asks when we can go back and play with the babies in the playroom ❤️ 100% recommend!

What a spacious, beautiful house & grounds. The shaded areas are a welcome balance, with a lovely swimming pool. The chateau is very child & baby friendly, so ideal for family holidays.Everything thought of and provided for a 3 generation
family, including Toys/DVDs/Books & a playroom with comfortable seating was a huge bonus. The Wii was very much appreciated too! -

Something Special
The chateau had plenty of space and was very elegant. The grounds have a great sense of fun for children to explore and they are excellently maintained. Outside there is a great pool area, with some great shaded areas so that there is something for everyone. The pool was safe for the children and warm enough even for the
wimps! The children’s toy room was really perfect for boys & girls and had a vast range of toys to keep them amused. All extra bedding, baby products etc. were available and to a good standard. The catering on site was very good and very tasty! This was such a life saver! There was great choice & quality of food and it was very easy to order. We were given very good and nteresting information, regarding the locality. -
Ideal for a Wedding Anniversary
This is a beautiful house and the grounds are absolutely lovely. There is incredible space for us & kids to explore as well! The facilities are fantastic for adults & children of all ages (70 yrs to 3 months). The chateau is incredible, with no problems at all. Just Fantastic! We were offered wonderful food and lots of it, which was perfect. This was a lovely location to have on Mam & Dads wedding anniversary! The service was also brilliant, nothing was too much trouble from catering to mending punctures! Again, perfect. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
-
Fantastic!
Stunning - amazing space in & out with many places for children & adults to hide! The facilities were great from well equipped kitchen to playroom. Childproofed but still lots of fun toys for dry & wet days. Great showers & all working brilliantly. The food was delicious, Kids were fans of the chicken burgers. We loved the marinated chicken & yummy curries - Spiced mango chutney fab! The service was Perfect - friendly & on hand yet not intrusive. Had a fantastic week - Very relaxed & love the set up here. Thank you all.

Super accommodation in an amazing setting
This place is super for a relaxing holiday with or without children, but especially with children. We happen to be two couples with a three year old and eighteen month old between us and we chose this place based on the facilities for children (indoor and outdoor) on the basis that happy children make happy parents. The owners (who live offsite but nearby) catered exceptionally well for us, with the right degree of visibility and contact. Touches like a complimentary daily cleaning service and a shopping and catering service were perfectly pitched, as was the provision of all the basics - these little touches make a difference.
The Chateau is impressive, well presented and wonderfully spacious. We spent most of our time outside in the beautiful grounds, which was where we ate all of our meals. We were very lucky with the weather - but we would have enjoyed it regardless. We are not usually ones for returning to the same place twice, but we would make an exception here and hope to be back in the not too distant future.
