Pool Villa/House Ideal for Kids Walk to Village Laptop Friendly Workspace All Bedrooms En-Suite Parking Space

If you are looking for a holiday home in the Southwest of France, La Vue Des Remparts could be the perfect place. Located next to a UNESCO World Heritage listed village, enveloped by vineyards and just 50km away from the city of Bordeaux, this stunning home is a great base for a trip with friends or family.

As you approach the home you will pass the village ramparts and picturesque vineyard covered hills. The house fits seamlessly in to this landscape with its traditional farmhouse-style exterior hailing from the 1800s.

As you step indoors you will find yourself in a modern, whitewashed living space adorned with art work and filled with tasteful antiques which complement the age of the home. In the living room and the study there are feature fireplaces which are ideal for a winter break. The open-plan kitchen and dining area is a fantastic social space which opens out on to the garden and has all of the appliances you will need to cook a delicious meal. The owners have really gone the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable with touches such as air conditioning and a piano available.

The five chic bedrooms can be found on the first floor. Each room has either a king or queen-sized double bed, a desk and en-suite bathroom with hand glazed tiles. The bedrooms also benefit from amazing views of either the gardens, vineyards or the village walls. To ensure a great night sleep your room has sound proofing and crisp white cotton sheets.

The beautiful garden surrounds the house and is a lovely place to spend a lazy afternoon. There is over half an acre of outdoor space here, with lawns, lush planting and a number of seating areas. Spend the day swimming in the private, heated pool or relaxing in the sun before cooking dinner in the outdoor kitchen area. The candlelit, covered pergola creates the perfect atmosphere for a special evening meal with your party.

You do not have to travel far when you need to pick up some groceries as the closest amenities are just a stone’s throw away in the village of Saint-Émilion. This medieval village is packed with historic buildings which line the atmospheric streets. Since it was founded in the 8th-century, by a Monk called Émilion seeking refuge in a nearby cave, the village has been popular with visitors who first started to visit because of Saint-Émilion’s miracles. While here you can also try one of locally made macarons which have been baked to the same recipe since 1620! Many visitors stop here to explore the picture-postcard village with its 12th century church and defensive walls and because of the world-famous vineyards and the three classified-growth wineries which surround the village, with four more just minutes away. Make sure to visit one of the local wineries such as Château Ausone which offers half day tours and wine tastings, you will come away with knowledge on how these amazing wines are produced and maybe a bottle or two to accompany dinner.

If you wish to explore further afield then it is just a 50km drive to the bustling city of Bordeaux. Maybe you wish to head to the coast; why not try the beaches of Arcachon bay such as Plage Suzette which is 98km away and well worth the trip.
