Stepping inside, the ground floor features an inviting open plan kitchen and living area with plenty of space for preparing meals and winding down in the evenings after days spent discovering the Atlantic coast. Upstairs sleeps up to six guests across three bedrooms, with two bathrooms completing the floor. Soak up the sun in the fenced garden before cooling off in the inviting swimming pool, ending off the day with a glass of local wine on the terrace.

The closest sandy beaches are just a 30-minute drive away, steeped in natural beauty, where you can enjoy a range of watersports and local seafood. Revel in the rural charms of southwestern France while staying with your family at Les Volets Verts. In addition to the three bedrooms, a cot, highchair, changing table, changing mat, and pushchair can also be requested for little ones. 

In the fenced garden children can play freely and safely, enjoying games of table tennis and badminton and, of course, spending hours splashing in the private pool while parents relax on the terrace. 

Beyond the villa, you will find plenty of scenic walks and cycle routes winding through farmland, vineyards and sunflower fields. Horse-riding is a special way to explore the Charente-Maritime region and there is an abundance of water-based sports along the region's rivers and the vast Atlantic coastline. 

Water-lovers can hire boats along the peaceful Charente River near Cognac or take leisurely boat excursions to tour the scenery near Saintes, Cognac or Jarnac. To the north, the Marais Poitevin network of rivers, canals, and marshland can also be explored by canoe, kayak or boat. In the pretty town of Saint-Jean-d'Angély, around a 30-minute drive away, there is also a playground, skatepark, and even summer inflatables in the spacious park by the riverbank. 

For a day at the seaside, nearby beaches such as Chatelaillon or a little further, the Île de Ré and Île d’Oléron, have plenty of family-friendly activities on offer. After hours of sandcastle building and paddling in the sea, everyone will enjoy a feast of local cuisine followed by a delicious ice cream.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit No security deposit is required for this villa. Please be aware that guests are still required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival.
Arrival time 4.00 - 6.00 p.m.
Departure time 10.00 a.m.
Changeover day Saturday.
Minimum stay 7 nights.
Energy costs included? Yes.
Heating costs included? Yes.
Linen & towels included? No. Additional €21 per person, payable locally.
Pool opening dates? The pool is open approximately May to end-September. Please note that pool opening dates are subject to local weather conditions and pool maintenance requirements and that cooler months may not be suitable for swimming.
End of stay cleaning included? No. €180, payable locally. This is for a standard changeover clean. Guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Pets welcome? Not allowed.
Smoking Allowed? Not allowed.
Tax French Visitors Tax payable to Oliver's Travels at the time of balance payment (typically costs €1-€10 per adult per night - please enquire if exact amount is required).

    The house has all the comforts to accommodate a family of 6 people. The swimming pool and large private grounds are a real plus for "lazy" days. I sincerely plan to stay there again in order to extend our discovery in the region... It worked a miracle... to have won over my children :-)

    Excellent rental house with all the comforts, very well equipped and renovated with great taste. A plus for the quality of the bedding. We feel at home. Perfect swimming pool for a family with children. Small hamlet. Rural environment. Very pretty garden with trees. Excellent welcome and service, sound advice for visits and discoveries in Charente Maritime.
