Tucked away in a residential area outside the quaint village of Saint Ouen la Rouerie in the Bretan countryside, Le Petit Etang is an enchanting three-bedroom villa for up to six guests.
The ideal blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, Le Petit Etang is a haven that remains close at hand to fun, adventure and majestic vistas.
Stepping through the front door, guests are greeted by a warm and inviting living room whose ambience ensures the space is simultaneously the hub of the house and a place to relax. The plush furnishings adorned with tasteful accents, and the wood-beamed ceiling, create an intimate space for a morning coffee and the socialisation of family and friends unwinding after a busy day of exploring the surrounding French landscape.
Adjacent to the living area is the fully-equipped kitchen complete with a host of modern appliances, an additional dining table, and a vibrant accent wall that makes the space pop. With ready access to the terrace for ease of al-fresco dining, those with a touch of culinary inspiration will have no trouble whipping up some Breton pancakes for breakfast or a holiday feast for family and friends.
Ascending to the first floor reveals three well-appointed bedrooms. Each room comes thoughtfully fitted with a queen-sized bed, while the master bedroom also boasts an ensuite. A separate bath/shower and WC can also be found on this level for added convenience.
Le Petit Etang, which translates to “the little pond”, comes into its own when guests step outside into the sprawling wildlife garden. This verdant and well-kept garden is closer to the more natural style of a traditional English garden than the more ordered French style, making it a haven of adventure and exploration. Take a morning stroll around the pond or wander off along a country path to take in the lush local greenery.
The villa also boasts an enchanting terrace space, complete with al-fresco dining furniture, deck chairs and shade, ensuring guests are able to enjoy the great outdoors while enjoying a delicious meal.

Location
About the surrounding area of Le Petit EtangThe nearby town of Val Couesnon (6-minute drive) is the closest port of call when it comes to supermarkets, shops, and local restaurants. But the immediate vicinity of the villa is also not short of attractions.
In the beautiful town of Saint-Brice-en-Cogles (12-minute drive) almost every house and castle is built from the region’s local granite. Be sure to check out Château du Rocher-Portail, an early 17th century castle of substantial architectural interest thanks to its Renaissance gallery, central courtyard and lakeside setting.
Despite Le Petit Etang’s countryside setting, famous locales and beaches are not far away. The stunning Mont-Saint-Michel (21-minute drive) is close at hand. This majestic island topped by a sky-scraping abbey is one of Europe’s most renown sights. Set in a bay shared by Normandy and Brittany, this staggeringly beautiful location is a must-visit.
The historical port city of Saint Malo (49-minute drive), known as the Corsair City and the setting for the novel and Netflix series “All the Light We Cannot See”, is a historical gem enjoying a privileged position on a rocky peninsula. This walled city is dominated by an impressive castle and the enchanting “Intra Muros” route which you can take around the ramparts of the old town.
Along with this stretch of coastline’s many beaches, there’s also the Saint Malo’s thermal baths and in the sports harbour of Saint Malo itself you’ll find all manner of water-based activities: sailing, jet skiing, kitesurfing, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding and scuba diving.

Region
Brittany is famed chiefly for its beaches, and with so much coastline to explore it’s certainly one of the best reasons to visit the region. But there’s more to Brittany than sun, sea and sand, and while a good chunk of our villas and chateaux in Brittany are found next to the coast the ones further inland are just as tempting. Want to get the inside scoop on Brittany before you book? You’ll find our full Brittany travel guide below, full of tips, inspiration and great things to do.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThe sports harbour of Saint Malo offers every activity under the sun, from sailing to scuba diving and everything in between. But for an experience that doesn’t skip out on education, be sure to check out the Grand Aquarium de St Malo which offers an immersive experience for young minds.
The historical city of Saint Malo itself is also sure to knock the kids’ socks off. Beautiful and well-kept
Nature lovers looking for peace and quiet are in the right place here! The property is very spacious, beautiful and well-kept. Here you can relax wonderfully! Everything you need is available. The landlady is very friendly. A car is highly recommended for excursions. We would spend our vacation here again at any time. Our 4 children (11 to 19 years) were also totally thrilled and didn't want to leave. A big thank you!

A dream
This accommodation is a dream. If you love nostalgia, this is the place for you. The modern kitchen leaves almost nothing to be desired. The landlady was very nice, although she only speaks French. But fortunately there are translation programs and then it also works with the communication. A car is necessary. The house is conveniently located on the border with Normandy. You can start many excursions from here. E.g. Omaha Beach, Mount St. Michel and much more.
Don't miss out! Reserve now and get a full refund if you change your mind within 48hrs.
