Explore sandy beaches and experience a house steeped in history at the 15th century Manoir de Kervegat, a holiday chateau in Brittany only 8 min drive from Plestin Les Greves. The 7 acres of beautiful private gardens contain a pond and a splash pool the kids will love. Enjoy woodland and coastal walks, bike rides and barbecues. If you’re in the mood for some competition, there’s badminton, American billiards and a games barn with table tennis.

The home retains some original features, like wooden beams and a stone spiral staircase, but the fully equipped kitchen has an American fridge, and you’ll love the modern bathrooms. The 7 bedrooms include 2 family rooms and 1 ground floor bedroom with a king-size four-poster bed. At night, you’ll appreciate the TV room with DVD player and children’s games.

Visit nearby Plestin Les Greves for the famous beaches, including St. Efflam. A watersports centre there can help you organize a catamaran or kayak day trip. A little further, Locquirec (10 km) is a picturesque seaside village with creperies, cafes and a weekly market.

This family-friendly chateau is 70 km from the Brest airport and 46 km from the Roscoff ferry port.

  • You’ll want to rent a car to enjoy the nearby sites.

This is a historic home, and as such:

  • It has probably been standing for over 100 years, which means it's full of historic value and charm but it may also have one or two quirks!
  • Some of the decor and furnishings may not be brand new, but that should not detract from your holiday experience in this unique setting that allows you to take a step back in time!

Region

Brittany is famed chiefly for its beaches, and with so much coastline to explore it’s certainly one of the best reasons to visit the region. But there’s more to Brittany than sun, sea and sand, and while a good chunk of our villas and chateaux in Brittany are found next to the coast the ones further inland are just as tempting. Absolutely stunning house.
    Wonderfully welcoming and warm.
Loved the sound of the donkeys braying in the paddock.

  • It was a delightful stay.

    on 08/09/2024

We found everything as expected. It's a very beautiful house and extremely well-equipped.
The instructions were thorough and the surroundings very peaceful. The owner was very helpful in all respects.

  • Much recommended!

    on 14/08/2024

We spent another delightful family holiday at the Manor de Kervingant. The location is secluded and peaceful; the house is historic, quirky and fascinating; the splash pool and numerous outdoor games ideal for children of all ages; the local region and beaches beautiful and uncrowded. The owner was most welcoming and helpful. Much recommended - good value for money.

  • The house was beautiful

    on 31/07/2024

We were 12 people including 6 children aged from 3 to 12. The house was beautiful, really spacious, well equipped and well furnished but not fragile. The garden was huge and great for ball games and we all loved the donkeys. There were lovely unspoiled beaches within half a hour and Plestin les Greves had a big supermarket and other smaller shops. It was 250 miles for us from Caen but such an easy drive on uncrowded dual carriageways through very pretty and hilly countryside. We had a great time and would highly recommend this lovely house.

  • A splendid house

    on 13/05/2024

A big thank you to Erik who welcomed us into his magnificent manor with little Breton treats. A splendid residence in a green and relaxing setting. Nothing is left to chance. Excellent family stay. Return without hesitation.

  • Magnifique

    on 09/09/2023

    on 11/08/2023

    on 01/08/2023

  • A special place

    on 14/07/2023

A special place where history meets modernity. The rooms are furnished with attention to detail, not luxury but the feeling of being a castle lord. Ideal for family celebrations or holidays in a group. The kitchen is a dream for every chef. If you are looking for a historical holiday in Brittany, this is the right place. We enjoyed it very much. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

  • Ideal for mixed-aged groups

    on 12/09/2022

Three generations of our family stayed here in late August 2022 and had a superb time. The layout of the rooms was perfect with enough different spaces for people to find their own corner. Good inside/outside dining options in the most tranquil of spots! Would love to visit again!

  • Highly recommended!

    on 23/07/2020

A beautiful holiday home which was an excellent base for exploring the local coastline, and a lovely haven to come back to in the evenings. Highly recommended! Eric was a great host.

  • Beautiful property, had everything we needed

    on 13/07/2019

Full of character, excellently presented and equipped. Even nicer than the photos. Spacious interior, lovely grounds, activities in abundance. Our family & friends group of 8 adults including three 18-22 year olds had a lovely time.

  • Quirky Manoir

    on 19/06/2019

A most delightful property and a very welcoming host in a most peaceful location. The manoir suited us so well as a family of 11, the youngest being 2yrs and the most mature 72yrs! It was to celebrate my big birthday (Erik's champagne much appreciated!) and there was plenty of space for all to get lost in. Lovely beaches &
walks nearby, and through the woods on the property and bikes for those energetic souls! The rooms, all themed were a delight & I particularly loved our bedroom "Vol de Nuit" up the quirky spiral stone staircase. The dining table accommodated us all
and the pool table and games a treat. A most delightful stay in a lovely setting and a splendid and well appointed characterful property.

  • Tres agréable

    on 10/06/2019

Le manoir est spacieux propre et très bien équipé notamment pour la partie cuisine.

  • We would return!

    on 18/05/2019

Fourteen of us in seven sports cars stayed here 11-18 May. Great presence and location. We were lucky with nice sunny weather. Easy to get to beaches and superb
coastline as well as further afield. Two hours drive direct from St. Malo but detoured quite a bit sightseeing on arrival day. Great facilities to keep a group entertained and amused within the house and in the gardens...Overall, we had a great time and would return again.

  • Great Property for a Large Group

    on 17/08/2017

The house was great, lots of space and things to do even on a rainy day. We were a large group - 11 adults, 3 children and 1 infant. We all enjoyed the Pool table and the children made use of the paddling pool despite the cool weather.

The beach at les Greves was a 15 minute drive. We even made it to the horse racing at the beach. Nicest nearby beach was Lociquerec. We enjoyed the fresh croissants from the bakery in Plestin les Greves and discovered the closest local shop in Plougeat-Moysan which also supplied fresh Croissant and Baguettes for Breakfast.

When we asked the Olivers office for information before our travel they were either extremely slow to respond or didn't get back to me at all.
There appeared to be some mix up about the number of guests on arrival and the time of check in resulting in not enough beds being made. Overall the quality of the house was high but let down by some of the peripherals: The ping pong bats had broken rubbers, some bicycle tyres were flat, we couldn't get the DVD player to work and the washing machine and dishwasher were hard to open.

One time during the week the gas ran out and the landlord was there within the hour to keep us going.

The landlord kindly posted back Jewellery we had left behind.

Despite the small number of mix ups around the arrival time a great week was had by all.

  • Spacious and full of character

    on 15/07/2017

Large old manor house in isolated and tranquil environment. Well appointed kitchen; comfortable and private bedrooms; many seperate private spaces; bicycles, table tennis; kids games; small above ground pool - all ideal for a perfectly relaxed break away. Large, well supplied shop (Super U) 15 mins away by car. Nice beaches at Plestin-les-Grèves and Morlaix worth a visit.

  • Thank you for a delightful stay

    on 15/08/2015

Bonjour, I can confirm to you that your Manoir is a delightful place to have a vacation. The location is just perfect and with only a very small journey to great beaches and restaurants it helps in having a relaxing holiday. My grand children were delighted with the play areas and the many games that were provided, there was so many options to sit and relax for us older persons we all enjoyed it.

  • Love to return!

    on 11/08/2014

All our family had a superb holiday in your beautiful manoir the last week in July this year. The house was beautifully clean and well equipped, making it ideal for a holiday with our seven little grandchildren and their parents. The space outside was hugely enjoyed by them and us because it was so safe for them to play in, and your generous provision of mountain bikes, table tennis and badminton etc was really appreciated by the adults. The splash pool was an added bonus, much safer than a swimming pool for little children. The surrounding grounds were not only a delight to look at but loved by the older grandchildren for adventures with their fathers. The supermarket in Plestin had an interesting selection of local food and we were fortunate that the good weather enabled us to eat outside on the terrace every evening. Nearby Locquirec and its vast, empty beaches were an absolute delight for young and old.
For us it was an idyllic holiday. We all agreed that with seven grandchildren under five it proved a perfect week, and one which we would like to repeat in the future.

  • The most wonderful weekend at the Manoir.

    on 08/12/2011

We have just returned from the most wonderful weekend at the Manoirt. Everything went smoothly and Winsome and Paul were there to greet us when we arrived. They were so kind, friendly and helpful for the whole of our stay and we had a fantastic time. Paul and Winsome included us in all their plans, cooked us superb breakfasts and were perfect hosts. The accommodation was very good indeed and we even joined in a family barbecue one evening, sitting outside on the patio in the lovely weather that we had all weekend. On another night some friends of Paul and Winsome came over and we were included in the supper too. It was a beautiful weekend in all respects and now we are hoping that we might be able to return with friends and family for a week in the future.
