Located in a 70,000 m2 park in the heart of charming Burgundy, Château Romenay is a magnificent property dating back to 1571.
Sleeping up to 20 guests in impressive en-suite bedrooms, it is celebrating its grand opening in Spring 2016, offering the most modern facilities along with an amazing range of leisure outdoor and indoor activities.
Surrounded by centenary trees, extensive fields and a private fishing lake, you get the impression of having a kingdom just for yourself.
Tastefully designed and renovated previously by its former Swiss owner, the château has recently benefitted from the skilled, expert restoration of its current owners. The final outcome is astonishing, with a more than perfect balance between tradition and comfort.
The main features of the property include a gorgeous salt treated, heated swimming pool (11X6m) equipped with an automatic cover. For those who wish to keep fit and relax, there is a luxurious wellness area in the dependences with a Sauna, steam-room, massage area and a well-equipped gym.
The spacious kitchen offers ample space to organize exciting cooking courses with experienced and passionate local Chefs!
To the joy of children and adults alike, amenities include several games such as table tennis, billiard room, play station, chess, board games, volleyball and football areas, bikes and more.
To top it all, the château enjoys extreme privacy, with no neighbours in sight, yet it's just three minutes away from the gorgeous medieval village of Romenay, where you will find restaurants, shops and other tourist amenities.
A short and easy drive will also take you to Tournus, which is considered the capital of gastronomy in Burgundy. Your only dilemma will be which Michelin starred restaurant to choose!
Good news! This property is available as a Vill’otel |

Location
About the surrounding area of Chateau RomenayChateau Romenay sits in the South of Burgundy, only 3 km away from its homonymous village, where you will find: three restaurants, a supermarket, a bakery, a bank, a post office, a tourist office as well as local shops, newsagents, a pharmacy, three doctors and a hairdresser.
Tournus (15km) is a nice little town with an interesting Abbey and cloister, as well as a lively Saturday morning market, not to mention its excellent Michelin starred restaurants.
In Louhans (15kms) we recommend a visit to the Monday morning market (the biggest one in Burgundy) strolling down the charming pedestrian streets with 156 arcades, where you will find local products and plenty of women clothes and accessories.
The strategic location of the Chateau is also ideal to explore the vineyards of Burgundy, Beaujolais and Jura.
A bit further afield are Macon (30 km), Beaune (75 km) and Lyon (100 km), which also hosts the closest airport (120 km). Alternatively, you can fly to Geneve (150 km).

Our home for a week
Chateau Romenay was our home for a week and what an amazing home it was! We enjoyed every room in/out of the chateau and laughed, danced, played and connected. Your chateau was the setting for beautiful reunions and making new connections! merci beaucoup!

We will all remember our time in Burgundy
We were a family from Brighton, England, here to celebrate my 80th birthday. Our stay at Chateau Romenay has exceeded our expectations. We have been fortunate with the wonderful weather, but the amenities provided have been first class. We have also enjoyed the fine cuisine from Chef Agnes. We will all remember our time in Burgundy.

Magical chateau
Chateau Romenay has been the perfect base for our family celebration of a 75th birthday. With grandchildren from 3 to 13 years and 10 adults enabling us to all be together for the first time in over a year.
Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your magical chateau. -
Everything was perfect
Words cannot express the amazing time we had here at Chateau Romenay. Everything was perfect… the Château, the staff, the owners, and the area! we’ll be back!
-
A beautiful stay in an idyllic setting
Thank you for this beautiful stay in an idyllic setting with a calming park. The stork ballet was often the highlight of the day. Our regret, not having seen the storks take flight!
We will leave with a head full of memories, good times shared. -
Best Chateau!
Very nice old chateau in a private park. Lots of space and everything we could need. We were 20 people and everything worked fine. The best chateau we have ever visited in France.
-
Very Nice!
Spacious and ideally suited to large family gatherings. Well appointed and everything in working order. The kitchen can accommodate many helping hands with ample storage, prep and cooking facilities.

This will be a Hard Act to Follow!
The Chateau was everything we expected and more. We had a great time. The pool and grounds were lovely and well kept. Although we were a party of 20, if you needed to have a quiet time alone there was plenty of room to do that.

Thank you for the great vacation at Château Romenay!
Dear Christophe, Nathalie and I would like to thank you for the great vacation at Château Romenay. Our friends were all very pleased with the beautiful surroundings, hospitality and day trips to the various Burgundy wine regions. The people whom you recommended to help with food and housekeeping were great. Thank you! (Nathalie & Dimitri, Chicago, US, 1st July 2016)

Chateau Romenay is a gem! Highly recommended!
Chateau Romenay is a gem! The newly-renovated property with a large heated pool and extensive fitness-sauna is truly a find and stands out from other similar properties. It is perfectly located close to several small villages and towns, and is totally private. The chateau itself has numerous en-suite bedrooms, game rooms, tv room etc. that were all put to good use by our party of 14 people. All in the party were highly impressed by the quality of the chateau itself, the large kitchen, etc. and there is no question we will return. An added bonus is the wine expertise and experience of the courteous and efficient host, Mr. Christophe Gay. Highly recommended!!! (Kenneth, US, 10th June 2016).
