Spend the summer near Porto Vecchio in this contemporary holiday villa just a short drive from Plage de Saint Cyprien, one of Corsica’s most iconic beaches with gently shelving shores and crystal-clear sea.
Villa Nouchali sleeps up to ten guests across four doubles, each one with a bath or shower room, alongside a sofa-bed in a studio-style bedroom. Here it’s all about modern, unpretentious yet attractive style and a fantastic open-plan space for lounging and dining with family and friends. From the living area doors slide open to the upper terrace for al-fresco dining with mountain views. You can even catch a glimpse of the sea from some parts of this alluring Corsican villa.
From the lower terrace, wander down the steps to the welcoming swimming pool and yet another picturesque spot for shady dining by the barbecue and summer kitchen or lounging in the Corsican sun. The boules court can be found by the olive trees, adding further charm to this Mediterranean home.
Near the outskirts of Porto Vecchio, it’s handy to be able to stroll to a large supermarket and there is a summer restaurant around 1km away. Continue driving along the nearby road and within 6km you will reach and idyllic bay at Saint Cyprien, perfect for summer watersports, beachside dining and swimming in turquoise coloured water. The much-loved Plage de Cala Rossa is a similar distance by car or venture slightly further north to the gorgeous beach at Pinarellu.
Heading south, Porto Vecchio is only 5km away, such a delightful harbour town with a warren of medieval lanes in the old town as well as its impressive marina. Sample Corsican delights in local restaurants from wild boar and chestnuts to delicious local cheeses and grilled fish, perhaps accompanied by a glass of Corsican rosé.
At the southern tip of the island, visit the incredible citadel in Bonifacio or grab a picnic and hop on a ferry to the tranquil Lavezzi Islands, a paradise for walkers and wild beach lovers. Then of course there’s the hiking trails of Corsica’s rugged interiors with the Forêt de l'Ospédale and Col de Bavella waiting to be explored, yet more ways to experience the incredible natural scenery of this breathtakingly beautiful island.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa NouchaliOnly 5km from the much-loved town of Porto Vecchio, a short drive from a handful of idyllic beaches and with mountain views so typical of Corsica, Villa Nouchali is in an ideal location for exploring the popular south-eastern corner of this stunning island.
The villa enjoys a picturesque residential setting around a 350m walk from a large supermarket. It’s also located just off the main road which eventually leads towards one of Porto Vecchio’s most famous beaches, Plage de Saint-Cyprien (6km) where you will find summer watersports, beachside restaurants and crystal-clear sea. Plage de Cala Rossa is also close by, around 5km by car, whilst even closer is a bay accessed via a campsite set amongst the eucalyptus and oak trees.
Visit the harbour town of Porto Vecchio (5km) and wander around the warren of old lanes filled with charming restaurants, bars and shops or head towards the fashionable marina for a glass of Corsican rosé or chestnut beer as you watch the yachts sail in. It’s one of Corsica’s most popular places to visit, as are the iconic beaches of Palombaggia and Santa Giulia just south of Porto Vecchio, around 14 to 15km by car.
Bonifacio (34km) is an incredible town and a must-see during your stay with its dramatic limestone cliffs and historic citadel. Catch glimpses of the sea as you wander around the narrow lanes visiting artisan shops and enticing restaurants or bars, then walk down to the harbour to catch a boat across to the remote Lavezzi Islands – pack a picnic and plenty of water! There are yet more wonderful beaches around Bonifacio and towards the Figari coastline, some more remote and less visited than those around Porto Vecchio, not to mention many wonderful coastal walking trails.
The Forêt de l'Ospédale is another paradise for walkers and outdoor adventurists who will find rock-climbing, quad-biking, canyoning and ziplines or head further inland to admire the breathtaking scenery and rugged landscapes of the Col de Bavella.

Region
From the family-friendly beaches of Porto Vecchio to the dramatic mountain peaks of the Col de Bavella, the southern region of the Mediterranean’s fourth largest island offers you the diverse landscapes, historic towns and iconic coastline that Corsica is so famous for.
Starting in the south-eastern corner of the island, the coastline is truly impressive with turquoise coloured water and soft sand often backed by beachside restaurants and shady trees. Embrace the scent of salt air and pines at Plage de Pinarellu with its crystal-clear sea or spend the day at Plage de Saint Cyprien famed for its gently-shelving shores and summer watersports. On the other side of Porto Vecchio bay are the two famous beaches of Palombaggia and Santa Giulia – head out early to avoid the many visitors who flock to these photogenic beaches in the height of the summer. Further south, Plage de Rondinara is yet another idyllic bay with shallow clear water and fine white sand.
Experience the glamour of Porto Vecchio, once a historic harbour and citadel, now a vibrant town increasingly loved by jet-setters who appreciate its character and natural beauty. It’s a joy to potter around Porto Vecchio’s old town in the evening with boutiques, bars and a range of restaurants for every taste (seafood, pizzas, salads as well as more traditional Corsican dishes).
The jewel of southern Corsica is arguably the exquisite town of Bonifacio with its historic citadel perched above dramatic limestone cliffs and the most incredible vistas of the sea. The citadel’s warren of medieval lanes will enchant you and there is a wealth of restaurants to choose from showcasing some of Corsica’s delicious cuisine – imagine lamb and rosemary, wild boar casserole with chestnuts, cannelloni au brocciu and Mediterranean seafood. Boats from the marina whisk you away to the Lavezzi Islands for more serene beauty. Meanwhile, keen golfers will already be familiar with the prestigious Golf de Spérone in a spectacular setting with views towards Sardinia.
Heading towards the south-west of the island, pass the wilder shores of the Figari coastline (Plage de la Tonnara is a favourite) and venture through the mountainous landscapes of forest, vineyards and olive groves towards the mountain village of Sartène with its charming squares, restaurant terraces and wonderful market on a Saturday morning. Don’t miss pristine bays along the Valinco Gulf such as Campomoro and Porto Pollo as well as the pre-historic menhirs of Filitosa, before eventually arriving into the handsome city of Ajaccio, birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte.
The rugged interiors of southern Corsica are also not to missed from the pine and beech forests of the Forêt de l'Ospédale near Porto Vecchio to the mountain village of Zonza and the incredible Col de Bavella peaks. Discover walking trails, hiking routes, rock-climbing, canyoning and other adventures amidst the awe-inspiring scenery of Corse-du-Sud.
Whether you choose a rural bergerie near Porto Vecchio, a more contemporary abode overlooking the sea or a beautiful getaway with mountain views, Oliver’s Travels is proud to offer a range of hand-picked villas in southern Corsica.
