This site with breathtaking views has been a farm since 1903 and has recently become the much-loved home of two women in love with nature and the sheer beauty of this location.

On top of a hill facing Bergerac, the estate has three hills which offer different views of the town. Up here it’s all about silence, calm and retreat, but fabulous Bergerac is only a 5-minute drive away, so good restaurants, bars, shops and river sunsets are just a stone’s throw away.

The hostesses, keen to share their special idyll, have transformed an attached, independent and private cottage for guests and added a lovely heated pool for their exclusive use.

The hilly grounds of 12 hectares are vast and surrounded by fields, forest, lawns and fruit trees. Children have plenty of space to run around, but there is also table-football and two adult bikes are available. The kids will love the Shetland ponies, chickens and pigeons which the owners feed every day. Around the estate there is a hiking path in the surrounding forest.

Inside, the spacious cottage is comfortable, well-equipped and cozy. The fireplace makes it ideal at all times of the year.

Jolie Ferme provides the perfect escape to a rural setting, yet near a famous town in the spectacular Dordogne, which is full of châteaux, vineyards and wineries, fine restaurants and historical sites.

Jolie Ferme enjoys a fabulous hilltop location, surrounded by 12 hectares of stunning forests and fields, a real paradise for hiking and nature lovers.

The ancient town of Bergerac is located just a few kilometres drive away from the villa. The town is characterised by its charming medieval features and original cobbled pavements. Boasting boutique shops, restaurants and pavement cafes it is most appreciated on foot.

Situated in the renowned Dordogne, Bergerac is a real gateway to the surrounding wine region. Indulge in the famous Maison des Vins before exploring the countless wineries and vineyards in the beautiful countryside.

During the summer months, the town is thriving with regular markets, concerts and festivals. The whole family will enjoy a boat trip up the river, with the opportunity to see local chateaux and typical French villages. Within the local surroundings, Bergerac has a whole host of activities on offer, including caves, castles, bowling, water parks and lakes, to name a few. So whether you’re seeking a relaxing getaway immersed in a rural environment, or an action packed trip, Bergerac is the ideal town to accommodate all your desires.

Region

Experience the magnificence of the Dordogne River whilst staying close to Bergerac, a historic town with a fine reputation for its wine, gastronomy, history and art. What’s more, Bergerac is easily accessible with its own international airport and it is just over an hour from Bordeaux with TGV connections to Paris.

In the Périgord Pourpre and wonderfully located for reaching the Lot-et-Garonne and Gironde regions of south-western France, Bergerac is classified as a city of art and history. A stroll around Bergerac’s old town will be high on your itinerary – explore medieval cobbled lanes as you admire half-timbered houses, pretty squares as well as inviting shops and restaurants as you follow the fictional footsteps of Cyrano de Bergerac. On a Wednesday and Saturday morning, don’t miss the delightful market near the handsome Notre-Dame de Bergerac.

Sail along the Dordogne from Bergerac on board a traditional gabarre vessel or take a walk by the river’s edge before finding an idyllic spot for a picnic. Cycling enthusiasts will adore the voie verte from the Canal de Lalinde towards Mouleydier, Creysse and Bergerac, partly following the banks of the river. There are of course ample opportunities for canoeing along the Dordogne or hiking through the Périgord Pourpre’s forests, orchards and vineyards - the region’s natural beauty will captivate you with its mild climate and idyllic riverside scenery.

Wine lovers should visit the Château de Monbazillac, just south of Bergerac, or spend time sampling other wine appellations at vineyards and wine châteaux near the likes of Montravel, Pineuilh and Saussignac. Back to the charming town centre, taste a range of excellent wine at Bergerac’s Maison des Vins by the old harbour.

Beyond Bergerac, there are so many pretty places to discover. To the south-east is picture-perfect Issigeac and the bastide town of Beaumont-du-Périgord, both hosting enchanting weekly markets. Market lovers will also adore Sainte-Foy-la-Grande by the banks of the Dordogne, home to one of the Gironde’s most beautiful markets on a Saturday morning.

    Location, views and accommodation!

  • It's the second time we stayed at Jolie Ferme!

    on 27/04/2019

We'd been looking forward to the return and it was just as brilliant as last year. The warm and friendly welcome was lovely. This is defenitly a well equipped and comfortable Gite which is surrounded by beautiful views. I can't imagine anybody not being happy with their stay here....... Thank you and hope to see you again.

  • Amazing Countryside!

    on 23/06/2018

What a lovely relaxing holiday. The pool was welcomed in the heat of the day. The bed was extremely comfortable with blackouts shutters making our rest perfect. The locale has vineyards that sell you wine in easy walking distance. The country side is wooded between the vineyards and is full of wildlife. The beautiful town of Bergerac is 10 minutes drive or cycle away (it is on top of a hill with great views) or half an hours walk away.

  • Amazing property!

    on 17/04/2018

We’ve just returned from Jolie Ferme after a brilliant stay. The property is perfect in every aspect, great location with spectacular views. It is well equipped, very clean and the bed is the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. The owners of the property are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We’ve already booked for a return holiday here and if you’re thinking about booking this accommodation, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

We had a lovely stay at Jolie Ferme. The home was very clean and comfortable. The views the home offered of the city of Bergerac were stunning especially at night. We really enjoyed walking along the paths and the kids enjoyed watching the deer passing by.

  • Strongly recommended

    on 08/08/2016

We had a wonderful vacation at Jolie Ferme. The owners are very welcoming and dedicated. The accommodation was exactly as described, whereby the view of Bergerac was even more splendid than in photo. The accommodation was very nice and very comfortable with nothing amiss, especially in the kitchen. We were all along in all the extension of the property giving a real holiday feeling. We strongly advise staying here if you go to France and in Dordogne.
