Overview
Set within extensive grounds surrounded by trees and fields, Maison Lloris is a newly built holiday house located just outside a small local village in southwestern France's Lot department.
Equipped to great standards with plenty of outdoor space for families with children and large groups, the house sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 first floor bedrooms. The master bedroom benefits from its own en-suite bathroom and a charming balcony overlooking the dipping hills. Guests can relax in the downstairs living room which remains nice and cool during summer months and has direct access to the large terrace. Prepare breakfasts and tasty meals in the large kitchen equipped with all the necessary appliances before heading to the garden to enjoy it outside on the veranda.
You'll be able to take in the view of your holiday home from the moment you approach the driveway, and you'll be amazed by the amount of space available to you. Enjoy slow afternoons lazing around the pool and cooling down in the refreshing water or hide from the blazing sunshine at lunchtime by retreating to the shaded terrace. There is plenty of comfortable seating scattered around the grounds, allowing you to always find a quiet corner. Entertainment is delivered through the boules court and a barbecue, ideal for hosting al-fresco soirées in an idyllic atmosphere.
Although the home benefits from a harmonious location, it is just a short drive to the closest village of Cazals which hosts a number of typical local amenities. Pick up fresh pastries from one of the bakeries in the morning or visit the bustling Sunday market to stock up on homemade ingredients such as artisanal cheese, fresh bread, fruit and vegetables.
This region is also home to dramatic clifftop villages such as Rocamadour, known for the Cité Réligieuse complex of religious buildings, the Padirac Cave featuring underground lakes and unusual rock formations, as well as the Pech Merle Cave with prehistoric rock art.
Nature lovers will love indulging in wholesome activities such as kayaking, rafting, canoeing and fishing in the Dordogne and Lot rivers, as well as hiking through pristine landscapes in the nearby nature park Causses du Quercy Natural Regional Park, featuring caves among craggy limestone plateaus.
Sarlat-la-Canéda is also not too far away and is known for its gastronomy, including regional specialities such as foie gras and the famous Perigordian truffle. Crepes, walnuts, goat’s cheese and confits can all be tasted in the surrounding restaurants, delis and market stalls on the famous Saturday market.

Location
About the surrounding area of Maison LlorisNestled in between two quaint villages in southwestern France's Lot department, this area is fantastic for those looking for a charming and wholesome holiday. Discover medieval villages, walk on the grounds of historic castles such as the Château de Lantis, and explore pretty botanical gardens and parks nearby.
Take a scenic countryside route to Cazals, the closest village equipped with bakeries, a butcher and a small supermarket to help you satisfy sudden cravings. Every Sunday there is a market with fresh fruit, vegetables, regional cheese and wine, perfect for tasting the local produce. You can easily linger over a nice meal here before heading to the Plan d'eau de la Cayre Lake to cool down with a swim or rent paddle boards to get some exercise in.
In less than 25 minutes, you can be walking around Gourdon, a petite town with honey-hued houses and an interesting history. There are plenty of popular sights to be found here, such as the castles of Butte du château and Château de Gourdon, as well as a pretty 14th-century church Église Saint-Pierre. When you get hungry, find a table in one of the ambient cafés and restaurants and get ready to tuck into a generous portion of traditional foods such as duck, foie gras and truffle.
The towns and villages dotted along the Dordogne River are also a fantastic option for a day out and you can tick many off your itinerary in just a single day. Start in Domme, which belongs to France’s Plus Beaux Villages, and walk around the historic streets all the way to the river bank. Here you can rent canoes and kayaks, or participate in a group paddle-boarding session.
Just across the river, you can find La Roque-Gageac with its postcard-worthy vistas. Climb up to Fort de La Roque-Gageac to see the surrounding landscape from high above or find shade underneath the trees in the Jardin exotique gardens. More interesting places for a stroll include the hilltop gardens of Les Jardins de Marqueyssac with clipped box hedges and a topiary and a 13th-century castle Château de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle housing a Middle Ages war museum.
In Saint-Cyprien you can see more castles such as the Château de la Roque, and continue higher into the hills for interesting tours of the area's caves, including the Grotte du Grand Roc, with its colourful stalagmites, stalactites and calcium columns, Les grottes du Roc de Cazelle and the hidden Grotte de Bernifal cave.
Region
The pace of life in the Dordogne is languid, laid back and positively infectious. Relax in bucolic beauty as you drift along the Dordogne River, or wander among the forests and hillside of the Périgord Natural Park.
The foodie scene too, is a relaxed affair. Take your time over your lazy lunches of local duck, black truffles and goats cheese. If you’re feeling energetic, you can even hunt for them yourself. The wine here is second to none, with infamous grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chenin Blanc all having a huge presence here.
The Dordogne is also brimming with history. Castles and chateaux are scattered throughout the region, among the enchanting medieval villages. History of an altogether more ancient sort can also be explored in the incredible prehistoric cave drawings of Lascaux and Grotte de Rouffignac.

Walking and hiking in the pristine landscape is also widely encouraged, and there are easy trails for children of all ages offering splendid views and picnic spots along the way.
Although there are plenty of lakes and riverside activities to do, every child will love spending the day splashing around at a colourful waterpark – so why not visit Quercyland? We Had A Great Time
First of all, our compliments for the perfect organization you have, a good website, a quick confirmation, a good description of the contacts on site and route, a quick refund of the deposit and surprises on site such as a bottle of wine, cheese, etc. Maison Lloris is of course beautifully situated. We had a great time and were very lucky with the beautiful weather.
We hope to be able to use your services more often and would highly recommend you to our friends and acquaintances.

Truly enjoyable
We have truly enjoyed Maison Lloris. "Task" in our first week of the holiday was slowing down and that certainly worked out well. Great place and a good host who receives you hospitably (with a good & cozy story). Overall a very nice place and worth repeating.

Peaceful stay
My husband and I have enjoyed a lovely, restful couple of weeks in Maison Lloris. The Villa was extremely comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need for self-catering. The weather was mostly very kind to us and we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets as we sat outside enjoying the evenings with a meal and of course several bottles of the lovely regional wine! A great trip, we would certainly recommend if you are looking for an “away from it all” holiday.

Super comfortable and spacious
What a wonderful holiday we had in Maison Lloris! Super comfortable and spacious house with a great pool and pool house! We have made a lot of use of this because of the warm weather. We could always find a place in the shade with the nice sunbeds. The pool was cleaned weekly by a nice English speaking man. We also used the boules court that belongs to the house a few times, even the balls are available!
We have made trips to some picturesque pictures in the beautiful surroundings: Saint Cirq La Popie, La Roque-Gageac, Domme, Castelnaud la Chapelle, Beynac and Sarlat are all worth a visit, some of these towns are very close together and you can combine a visit well!
We did our shopping at Lidl and Carrefour in Gourdon, about 20 minutes' drive away, but there is also a supermarket in the close town. In short, this house is highly recommended!
