Overview
Look out at the Dordogne vineyards and rolling hills around you as you relax in the glorious gardens of your manoir, surrounded by the summer scents of lavender, roses and jasmine. Close to the delights of both Eymet and Bergerac, this is a fine place to holiday with family or friends looking to relax in this alluring region of southern France.
The former 19th century residence of the local mairie, this country abode is both elegant and stylish following an impressive restoration in recent years. With seven bedrooms spread over the main house and cottage, Manoir du Jasmin has retained much of its historic charm with original flooring, exposed stone walls and oak beams. This is contrasted with 21st century luxuries such as air-conditioning throughout, a home cinema room, a gym and an especially grand bar and games room in the converted barn.
Even the heated swimming pool is stylish with its limestone terrace and glass panelled safety gate, ideal for young families. The gardens are full of flowering colour and there are fruit trees and a vegetable garden; help yourself to aubergines, chillies or whatever may be growing that season. The 15-acre estate includes lawns, meadows and the owner’s vines; in this beautiful setting you are truly immersed in the Dordogne countryside.
Pass vineyards and summer fields of sunflowers as you drive to Eymet, a much-loved bastide town on the banks of the Dropt river. With its atmospheric square of restaurants, charming weekly Farmer’s market and occasional night markets in July and August, it’s a wonderful place to spend time soaking up the Dordogne ambience around you.
Bergerac is also close by, a must for wine and food-lovers with its Maison des Vins, twice-weekly market and excellent restaurants as well as being ideal for families with boat trips and other child-friendly attractions nearby. Also within a short drive you will find summer canoe trips on the Dordogne or Dropt rivers, incredible walking trails, horse-riding and mountain biking as well as magnificent châteaux and vineyards.
The most intrepid explorers could even venture as far as Bordeaux, just over an hour by train from Bergerac. That said, with its picturesque gardens, a superb pool and such outstanding features, it’ll be hard to leave the beauty of Manoir du Jasmin for too long.

Location
About the surrounding area of Manoir Du JasminManoir du Jasmin is set in the southern Dordogne countryside with glorious views over rolling fields and vineyards.
Set just outside a small hamlet, it’s a short drive to the nearest village where you will find a boulangerie and small shop with essentials whilst the pretty bastide town of Eymet is also close by with its cafes, restaurants and supermarket. In a picturesque setting on the Dropt river, Eymet has some fine medieval architecture and a lovely weekly market on a Thursday morning. Look out for occasional night markets in July and August in the main square, an atmospheric place in the summer with its cafes and restaurants.
Food-lovers who are seeking some of the wonderful cuisine that the Dordogne is so well-known for have a great choice of excellent places to eat in the region. Bergerac, Monbazillac and Issigeac all have fine restaurants which are reasonably priced. The Michelin starred Le Vieux Logis in Trémolat is also a special place to visit, perhaps combined with a day out on the Dordogne river.
There are many excellent wineries to visit in the area, some only within a 15-minute drive or so. The Maison de Vins de Bergerac will also appeal to wine enthusiasts when visiting this remarkable historic wine-town so close to Manoir du Jasmin.
You’ll discover all sorts of regional delights at local farmer’s markets, some of the best being on a Sunday morning in Issigeac (also one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’) or a Saturday and Wednesday morning in Bergerac.
Other idyllic villages to visit include two more of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages', Monflanquin and Monpazier, as well as bastide towns such as Beaumont-du-Périgord and Lalinde or delightful Limeuil on the Dordogne river. Take a boat trip on the Dordogne from Bergerac, hire canoes near Gardonne or head south to La Sauvetat-du-Dropt in the summer for kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle-boarding and whitewater river trips on the Dropt river.
There is also a train service from Bergerac which takes you to the stunning market town of Sarlat-la-Canéda, taking one hour, or head west to the magnificent wine city of Bordeaux, around 75 minutes by train.

Region
The pace of life in the Dordogne is languid, laid back and positively infectious. Relax in bucolic beauty as you drift along the Dordogne River, or wander among the forests and hillside of the Périgord Natural Park.
The foodie scene too, is a relaxed affair. Take your time over your lazy lunches of local duck, black truffles and goats cheese. If you’re feeling energetic, you can even hunt for them yourself. The wine here is second to none, with infamous grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chenin Blanc all having a huge presence here.
The Dordogne is also brimming with history. Castles and chateaux are scattered throughout the region, among the enchanting medieval villages. History of an altogether more ancient sort can also be explored in the incredible prehistoric cave drawings of Lascaux and Grotte de Rouffignac.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThe Dordogne offers great activities for families with children of all ages. There are some wonderful walks through the beautiful countryside and perfect picnic spots plus of course all the prehistoric caves and historic châteaux of the Dordogne.
You can take a boat trip along the Dordogne from Bergerac or hire canoes for a day out on the river near Gardonne. There are also summer river sports on the Dropt river with kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle-boarding and whitewater river trips in La Sauvetat-du-Dropt.
Just outside of Bergerac you will find the town’s Aquapark with swimming pools, slides and chutes and there’s also a go-karting centre nearby. Port Miniature will also amuse little kids and adults alike with its tiny boats on the lake just east of Bergerac.
Crossing the nearby border into Lot-et-Garonne, Parc en Ciel is another great family day out with tree-top activities, mini-golf and a natural swimming pool as well as a range of playgrounds.
A little further away, the area around Le Bugue has lots of attractions for children such as Jacquou Parc with its rides and animals, the Aquarium du Périgord Noir and Parc Le Bournat, an old French village attraction with rides.

Highlight of our trip to France
Our stay here was the highlight of our recent trip to the south of France. From the minute we drove through the gates we were impressed by the beautiful gardens, house and pool. It is truly a magnificent French retreat and estate. I couldn't recommend the house more highly and I am already planning another trip there soon

One of the best houses we've stayed in
Wow, what a holiday! We’ve just returned from a fantastic week at the house and all 14 of us have nothing but praise for the whole week. The house has been beautifully renovated and is perfectly equipped in every way. We ranged from 75 to 1 year old and had plenty of space for us all. From the crisp white linen on the very comfy beds to the pizza oven, full sized bar, the lovely sun loungers and very well equipped kitchen..we couldn’t have asked for more. The kids loved picking tomatoes and lettuce from the kitchen garden and my sister and I loved the fabulous gym with amazing views across the valley.
In the run up to the holiday, I had all my questions answered by Mark and George was on hand for anything we needed during our stay.
We’re already planning our return visit next year, hopefully for a couple of weeks as one just isn’t enough!

Fabulous elegant stay
Just returned from a fantastic stay at Manoir Du Jasmin. We only had a week at this fantastic house but it was very memorable. The main house and gite have been beautifully and tastefully restored. There is great quality and attention to detail throughout from the lovely terraces/landscaping/pool/vegetable garden to the quality furnishings and equipment.
Many a lovely meal was enjoyed admiring the fantastic location from the multiple outdoor seating areas on the terraces.
The gite provided a great independent area for teenagers and the well equipped gym was a bonus.
We appreciated a lovely welcome package of local wine and produce, another quality touch.
Thank you - everything was just perfect, we hope to return again!

Stunning property in beautiful part of France
This property has the WOW factor! We were blown away by it when we arrived. It is beautifully renovated, and the grounds and surrounding countryside are stunning.
The main house is very spacious with a large living room, TV lounge room, and a big kitchen. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything that you might need (including 2 great coffee machines and a pantry with essentials that you can use). Also, there's a lovely large dining table. Upstairs there are 4 big airy bedrooms with very comfy beds, great linen and towels. Plus 3 pristine luxe bathrooms. The views out of every side of the house are idyllic.
The outside space too is fantastic: great terraces for eating/relaxing on, beautiful warm and clean swimming pool with comfy loungers, herb garden, fire pit, well equipped gym, petanque court, vineyard, landscaped gardens.
The gite across from the main house is also lovely and provides 3 extra bedrooms plus additional bathroom, kitchen and lounge.
We enjoyed our stay enormously and appreciated the level of detail and care that the owners have put into this house.
