Enjoy sumptuous food and wine during your stay at the Villa Des Arbres, a stone-built villa in Dordogne. The property boasts panoramic views of the Dordogne river valley in the middle of a quiet clearing. Swim in a sparkling pool with an expansive terrace, and then dine al fresco in a covered side terrace with built-in barbecue.
Villa Des Arbres is close to the hillside town of Tremolat and its many excellent restaurants. You can go back in time with the prehistoric paintings of Lascaux, and adventurers will enjoy spelunking in the area’s many caves.
You’re also in the Bergerac wine appellation area, with its numerous chateaux ready for visitors. Foodies will want to search out the region’s famous truffles, cepes, and foie gras, available at the Metairie adjoining the estate or the many bustling farmers’ markets nearby.
This classic French villa sleeps 8 adults and 2 children comfortably, with 5 bedrooms, a shower room or bathroom on every floor, and a Jacuzzi-style bathtub under the eaves in the en-suite master bathroom.
Just 2.5 km from Tremolat and 36 km east of the Bergerac airport, this villa is the ideal family holiday rental in Dordogne.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa Des ArbresOverlooking the Dordogne river is Tremolat, a gorgeous hillside town with lovely bridges crossing the tiny stream which runs through it.
The 12th century church of Saint Nicholas, which in ancient times had a defensive role, lies at the centre of the village. Here, you can find a plethora of excellent restaurants serving traditional food as well as local shops.
Close by is the famous "Cingle to Tremolat", a bend in the river offering magnificent panoramic views of the Dordogne valley.
The medieval town of Lalinde (14 km), with its little lake ideal for picnics and lively Thursday market is also worth a visit.
Sarlat (44 km) bustling narrow streets and medieval buildings steeped in culture and history, is a must visit for all.
The region boasts the world renowned Bergerac appellation wine area which covers 12,700 hectares. Wine has been produced in the region for well over 400 years. Wine enthusiasts will find similar grapes to those found in the Bordeaux region including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec reds; Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadet whites.
Many vineyards welcome visitors and offer tastings. The formal ‘route de vin’ maps out a plan of the vineyards in the area.
The Dordogne is the supplier of almost half of France’s fine produce including truffles, cepes and foie gras, which are available at the Metairie adjoining the estate.

Region
The pace of life in the Dordogne is languid, laid back and positively infectious. Relax in bucolic beauty as you drift along the Dordogne River, or wander among the forests and hillside of the Périgord Natural Park.
The foodie scene too, is a relaxed affair. Take your time over your lazy lunches of local duck, black truffles and goats cheese. If you’re feeling energetic, you can even hunt for them yourself. The wine here is second to none, with infamous grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chenin Blanc all having a huge presence here.
The Dordogne is also brimming with history. Castles and chateaux are scattered throughout the region, among the enchanting medieval villages. History of an altogether more ancient sort can also be explored in the incredible prehistoric cave drawings of Lascaux and Grotte de Rouffignac.

A Wonderful stay
We wanted to thank you for a wonderful stay in Villa Des Arbres this summer. We had an absolutely wonderful time with our children and grandchildren, with plenty of room for everyone! The children had a fantastic time in the large pool, and we thoroughly enjoyed the walks, barbecues and dinners looking out at the stunning views on the valley. It is such a quiet and beautiful place. We also made the most of the country walks and family outings to the wonderful castles and historical sites. This was one of the best family holidays we have had and thank you for making us feel so welcome!

Beautiful house
We spent 2 weeks in Villa des Arbres with three family generations. It was a blessing to be here with grandpa, grandma, the children and the grandchildren. Everyone had such a great time around the house, at the pool and in the surroundings of Trémolat, Bergerac and Le Bugue. Grandpa went every morning to get delicious sandwiches at the boulangerie in Trémolat. The manager came by twice a week to maintain the pool. It was wonderful to walk in the area or to ride around with rented bicycles. Great place, lovely house very nice people, heaven on earth to be with your family. Thanks to the owners for such a beautiful house, lots of luxury, yet classic with a large private garden and an amazing view into the valley.

Definitely will come back!
Stayed in this beautiful house for 5 days. Lovely surroundings with lots of historic sites. This house has a great look and feel. Especially the spacious living room with a fireplace and book cabinet with many books. The swimming pool is a great place to relax and enjoy the large garden and the view into the valley. Definitely will come back!

Fairytale view!
We, family with 8 family members in the age of 19 till 63 years, had a wonderful stay at the Villa des Arbres in the summer. It lacked nothing: wonderful beds, cozy furnishings, well-equipped kitchen with oven, a terrace in several places and a fantastic swimming pool with a fairytale view. The location is quiet and relaxed. A very nice and helpful concierge. There is much to do in the area: nice towns, canoeing, walking, cycling. The bakery is a 3 min drive away. So it is a great stay and we will definitely book again.

Fantastic family holiday
Great house in a great part of the world. Fantastic family holiday, chilling out around the pool and spending the evening looking at the view. Great place of life around the Dordogne. And we will definitely be back.

Very enjoyable week
For one week we stayed with nine friends here in the Villa des Arbres. We found the large mansion beautiful looking and it’s open spaced wide gardens gave us a great opportunity to enjoy the day at the pool. Looking over the valley you experience a relaxed atmosphere. When you want to take a break from the beautiful but heated weather, you can go inside where a perfectly cooled down living room or luxury kitchen is waiting for you. This together with a very friendly manager and a great explanatory guidebook made our stay a very enjoyable week.

A special place
A special place to stay in a beautiful part of the world. Lots of laughter around the pool, the children are already asking when we can come back. Canoeing on the river is a must. We were made to feel most welcome, thank you.
